Right now, China, Taiwan, North Korea, Japan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden, among other nations, are all posturing for war or are at war. What's going on?

While reading the newspaper, all the global hotspots and flash points that exist today struck me—article after article about all the places where there are ongoing wars, conflicts, and rumors of wars. It's not just in the newspapers; you see it online and on all the cable news channels 24/7.

“In five years’ time, we could be looking at multiple theatres involving Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. Ask yourself, looking at today’s conflicts across the world, is it more likely that that number grows or reduces? I suspect we all know the answer: it’s likely to grow.”

The news out of Russia recently has people around the world on the edge of their seats. Tensions are rising, troops are on the move, and tanks are poised to fire.

God’s prophetic Word is the only reliable source to depend upon when it comes to future events. Everything else is just guesswork.

Article 5 of the NATO Alliance surrounds collective defense obligations, stating that "an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all..."

On Monday, Russia launched deadly attacks on regions across Ukraine, including its capital Kyiv, in a barrage of what President Zelensky stated were Iranian-made drones and missiles.

As Russia’s leader is further weakened, he becomes more likely to lash out with the only thing Russia has that scares everyone else — his nukes.

Wars and rumors of wars can be a frightening prospect to those who have no idea what’s coming. But for the Christian who has studied the Bible, the escalation of aggression we are seeing is just one more indicator that we draw closer to the end.

We are watching historic changes taking place in the world. Often, before a big earthquake there will be a series of foreshocks. These trigger concerns that a major earthquake is on the horizon. The same is true in the geopolitical world.
