God’s reasons involve both ultimate and immediate purposes. First, let’s look at the ultimate purpose. God provided special revelation through the prophets and Jesus Christ—the source of all prophetic revelation (Revelation 19:10). Our Lord used words, visions, dreams, miracles, and theophanies so that He could, as theologian Lit-Sen Chang stated, “reveal His divinity to His creation, display His many excellencies, and declare His glory, especially in His work of redemption.” As we witness how God’s plan for the ages unfolds, we’re meant to be astounded more and more by our wonderful Creator, Redeemer, and King.

Not even the church—beloved as it is by God and as much as it strives to serve Him—is a fulfillment of God’s promise to establish His physical Kingdom here on Earth. We’re playing on Satan’s turf. Right now, the world is his domain (1 John 5:19). As Jesus said, we are in this world, but not of it (John 17:14–19). This is not our home. Scripture makes clear reference to the physical nature of God’s coming Kingdom. It will begin when Jesus comes again and stands on the Mount of Olives, the very spot from which He ascended to heaven after His resurrection. In that day, the Lord will be recognized as the rightful King over all the earth, over all His creation which He purposed to be part of His Kingdom since time began (Zechariah 14:9; Obadiah v. 21).

You don’t have to deny or even question the truth of Christ’s return to miss the point of it. Many believers acknowledge that Christ will come back someday but refuse to allow His impending return to influence their daily actions and decisions. So, instead of preparing for His return and making sure their lives align with His will, they choose to do things that are wrong. They know what the Bible says but choose to ignore it. They play around with sin. They try to have their cake and eat it, too, by living as they please in the present, reasoning that they can repent in the future.

What is the final bedrock of our country’s foundation? The early fathers envisioned a land where people thrived because justice prevailed. In the words of George Washington, “The best and only safe road to honor, glory, and true dignity is justice." Franklin Graham recently said, “The Bible teaches that government is ordained by God to deter evil and defend righteousness." Part of this responsibility is establishing and enforcing fair laws. Peaceful societies rely on clear consequences for injustice—an idea that comes not from human reason but from God’s design.

Doom and gloom? That’s how many think of the book of Revelation. Oftentimes, Christians shy away from the study of prophecy because they believe it is too complex or irrelevant to spend time examining. But this is not true. Revelation gives us insight into things that will come to pass and helps us understand the things that are happening in our world. It gives us heavenly insight on what the future holds and changes our perspective as we go through our everyday lives.

The general assumption in many Bible-believing churches is that Bible prophecy is far too controversial and divisive for it to be taught. A few churches in my area openly state on their websites that the subject is “tertiary,” or less important than other matters of our faith. Sadly, most pastors and believers agree that Bible prophecy is tertiary, which Merriam-Webster defines as “of third rank, importance, or value.”

One of the most significant discoveries in the history of humanity took place in late 1946, early 1947. It was done by a Bedouin shepherd in the area of Qumran, in Southern Israel. Before that discovery, the earliest manuscripts dated back to the 10th Century CE (Masoretic text). The Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS) took us back to the period between the 3rd and 1st centuries BCE, but the story doesn't end there. When all fragments were found, gathered, and organized, scholars came to realize that, except for Esther, every single book of the Hebrew Bible was present in part or almost in full.

Abandoning truth is nothing new. It’s been around since the serpent deceived Eve with the question, “Did God really say…?” (see Genesis 3:1). He was not the kind of guy you’d ever hear say to a group of listeners, “Let me tell you my truth.” Despite Elijah living 2,800 years ago, it’s amazing how similar many of the issues he faced in his world were to the ones we face today.

No one can reason someone else into faith. It is ultimately a matter of the heart, the will, and God’s sovereignly perfect activity. But it can be demonstrated that our Christian faith is anchored to reality. Ours is a faith based on logic, fact, history, and truth.

Bible prophecy is the one line of evidence God wrote down in advance so anyone could check it. About 28 percent of the Bible was prophecy when it was written, roughly 80 percent of it has already been fulfilled to the exact detail, and the fulfillment rate on everything past is 100 percent. That track record is what makes fulfilled prophecy the most compelling reason to trust that the Bible is from God. Anyone can write a religious book that tells you what to believe. Only One who stands outside of time can tell you what is going to happen a hundred, five hundred, a thousand years from now, and then have it happen exactly the way He said.

Since religious freedom has been a hot-button social issue and is more and more frequently covered in secular and Christian news media outlets, we sometimes are asked these questions. Does the Bible address religious freedom, and, if so, what does it say and where? The Apostle Paul (and his traveling companions on various mission trips) is perhaps the most notable example of a biblical figure who suffered religious persecution and also on occasion stood up for his religious liberty. It is interesting that Paul did so in a government that had some similarities to Western nations.

All three of these approaches to Bible prophecy are monumentally dangerous (Rev. 22:19). God means what He says, and says what He means. While many venture into these positions out of ignorance, or the blind trust in a particular denomination, we must all understand our responsibility to rightly divide God’s Word, examining it with clarity and discernment. Bible Prophecy was lovingly given by God for a purpose. When we remove it, add to it, and twist it, we are making a significant mistake—one that not only affects our personal understanding, rewards in eternity, and walk with the Lord, but also our witness to the unsaved world.

In the Bible, hope is closely connected to waiting. Not waiting in the sense that we are still uncertain about the outcome, but steadfastly waiting because we fully expect the outcome God promised in His Word. In other words, man’s definition of hope carries doubt. God’s does not. As such, Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we may base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises.

In some situations, the choices seem unlimited. Scripture simplifies our choices down to an either/or, A or B, black or white option: either accept Christ as Savior and Lord OR reject God’s gracious offer of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. The choice is yours, but the ramifications are everlasting.

Citizens from every state in the Union are expected to gather near the Lincoln Memorial to prayerfully give thanks for God’s blessings and providence for the United States since her founding in 1776. Americans will also be praying for God’s ongoing protection and direction for our country as well as seeking His forgiveness for our nation’s many sins.

The choice is yours: will you react or respond to God’s holy, righteous judgment? The Scriptures make it clear that a time of final judgment is coming because of sin. All of us have sinned and the wages (payment) for our sin is death: spiritual death (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23). We deserve punishment, but God longs for a close personal relationship with each of us and has made a way for us to be right with Him through Jesus. Will you pridefully try to save yourself, or will you call on Jesus to rescue you from God’s eternal wrath and bring you into a relationship with Him?

In chapter 6, the narrative takes a dramatic turn. As one after another seal is broken, the action in Heaven unleashes a great calamity on Earth. No longer the meek and mild suffering Servant of Isaiah 53, Christ is now the Worthy One who breaks the seals that send forth riders and catastrophes to inflict great suffering on the Earth. This reality alone does not align with the false prophets of prosperity who proclaim that Jesus would never hurt a fly. The image here is of Jesus exercising the will of the Father to pour out judgment on an unrepentant world devoid of Church Age saints who have been swept up at the Rapture.

I am compelled to share the truth of God’s love, compassion and mercy for sinners because I’ve experienced it myself. Ever since I repented of my sins and surrendered my life to Christ more than 50 years ago, I’ve never been able to ignore or escape the personal responsibility for answering the Apostle Paul’s soul-searching questions in the Book of Romans.

Although God’s undiluted wrath will be poured out upon the earth, what we also bear witness to in the Scriptures is the fact that He will also shine His glorious light on the world as His message of the impending Millennial Kingdom is shared to all people.

Although the Middle East is currently engulfed in war, the superhighway of Isaiah 19 reminds us that in that future time when Jesus rules and reigns as King from Jerusalem, not only will Jew and Arab peacefully co-exist, but they will also worship the true and living God together. This is a powerful reminder of the sovereign work of God, who alone has the power to transform regions of despair into places of worship, honour, and praise. Although the Western world currently likes to speak about normalisation between Israel and Arab countries in this age, true normalisation will only come when all nations recognise that the God of Israel is the true and living God.

Copies of God’s Word are exceedingly plentiful. Most of us have several Bibles lying around our houses. We can access any Scripture verse from our phones in an instant. We have a privilege that so many believers throughout history could only dream of: holding God’s Word in our hands and reading it regularly. And yet, we frequently neglect this privilege.

When the Jewish people joyfully acknowledge Jesus as King and He reigns during the Millennial Kingdom, gladness will replace groaning and rejoicing will replace rejection. Enemies will no longer threaten His people, nor will disaster ever strike the nation again. In fact, not only will the remnant rejoice over God but God will rejoice over the remnant.
