Suicide is a sin, opposed always and everywhere by Christians. The prohibition against self-murder is rooted in the truth that humans are made in the image of God, possessing inherent dignity and immeasurable worth. Christians are called to defend, protect and value all human lives – not deliberately end them. Government-approved suicide sends a strong message to the sick and disabled that their lives don’t matter, they are a drain on their family and friends, and it’s more cost-effective for them to be killed rather than burden a country’s nationalized health care system. But now, the Anglican Church of Canada has provided clergy with a way to “bless” those committing this sin – rather than encourage them to turn away from the darkness of death.

The massive anti-Israel protest movement that swept Britain after Hamas’ October 7 attack has been driven largely by a coordinated and internationally financed network of activist organizations, according to a major new report presented Wednesday at the House of Lords. The 129-page NGO Monitor investigation mapped 40 organizations involved in post-October 7 demonstrations and mobilization campaigns across the United Kingdom. Researchers concluded that roughly 80% of the protests were organized by NGOs rather than emerging spontaneously from grassroots activists. The report, titled Imported Influence, found that at least 11 of the organizations had alleged links to extremist groups or officials who had met or cooperated with figures connected to Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, or the Muslim Brotherhood.

Many attempt to mask their antisemitism by claiming that anti-Zionism is merely impassioned criticism of a nation that just happens to be Jewish. By claiming Zionism is a “modern colonial ideology” they attempt to legitimise Palestinian ownership of the land at the expense of Jewish self-determination in the ancestral Jewish homeland. The simple equation in the anti-Zionist mind is that if Zionism is indeed colonial, then the State of Israel is illegitimate. But what most people refuse to accept is that the Jewish people do not just have a legal and historical right to the land, they have a biblical claim to it as their national homeland as well.    

In a Facebook post Tuesday, Franklin Graham thanked President Donald Trump for his role in the release of imprisoned Christian pastor Ezra Jin Mingri—founder of an underground church in China—who had been detained for 266 days. Jin, 57, was released and reunited with his wife and daughter in Los Angeles Friday, roughly two months after Trump pressed Chinese President Xi Jinping to free him during a U.S.-China summit in Beijing. Jin was arrested Oct. 11 after Chinese officials raided his home in Beihai, Guangxi Province, the previous evening and conducted an all-night search. He was charged with “illegally using information networks,” according to The New York Times.

The resolution strongly condemns the Kawel massacre and calls on the EU Special Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU to “pay particular attention to the deteriorating situation of Christians and all persecuted religious communities in Nigeria. The resolution also calls on the Nigerian authorities to prosecute those responsible for attacks, to “strengthen both counterterrorism operations against armed militants, particularly in the Middle Belt region, and efforts to counter Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province”, and to improve early-warning systems and adequately address the situation of internally displaced persons.
