On Tuesday, Israel will hold what might be our most important election of the twenty-first century. Based on the country’s vote, my nation will either move on to victory against Iran and its terrorist militias or to a dangerous capitulation to leftist pressure, which will bring with it grave danger and long-term consequences.
The Believer’s Responsibility In The Voting Booth
What a crazy week it has been in France and other parts of Europe. It seems like the silent Jihad that has slowly been accumulating its forces through immigration has finally found its voice. Violence, arson, brutality all found their outlets by raging mobs. Despite President Macron pulling his best Mr. Magoo impersonation and blaming French citizens for the terrorist wilding, anyone with two functioning eyes could see who made up the violent packs. They were Muslim immigrants who had been welcomed into the country – with open arms and no questions – because to the Leftist mind it felt like the nice thing to do. Anyone who could see past the short-sighted liberal agenda warned that this open-borders policy would come back to bite the country. The Left condemned those cautions as racist, and now the country is dealing with the carnivorous hordes.
But while it’s easy to say, “Yeah, France is getting what they deserve,” the rest of Europe must take heed. But it’s not just a continental phenomenon. America and Israel have the same liberal politicians with the same leftist ideologies, and they are looking to fundamentally alter the makeup of our nations in similar ways. For Americans living in Colorado and Idaho and Utah and, now, Texas, you are examples of what the Left is trying to do with the whole nation. Twenty-five years ago, Colorado had a Republican governor and two Republican senators. Now, after the influx of liberals moving in from California, the state is a Democrat stronghold and one of the most liberal in the nation.
In Israel, the same is true but the change is taking place in different ways. We are masters of subtlety and backroom dealing. Our alterations take place when we can undermine the ruling party and insert our own people. This is what Benjamin Netanyahu is facing in Tuesday’s election. Powerful forces are aligned against him, desperate to bring him down. Part of their reasoning is they don’t like his stand against Iran, part is their desire to be welcomed into the European club, and part is Netanyahu’s strong stand against the Leftist judicial reform that would essentially make the Supreme Court the autocratic leaders of the nation.
There are some who say that Christians should not vote. They say that God is in control and will put into power those He chooses. Others say that they can’t back a candidate whose moral life doesn’t mesh with Biblical principles. Still others say that the other side is so powerful that their vote doesn’t matter. I can agree with each of these beliefs to an extent. God is in control. He will put into power those He wills. And there are gross smarmy conservatives just like there are gross smarmy liberals. But none of that changes the necessity of believers to vote.
When I vote, it is for agenda and not for person. I believe in God. I believe in life. I believe in national strength that is tempered with benevolence. Let’s say we have one candidate who is a clean-cut, family man who volunteers at the homeless shelter and rescues kittens in his spare time, but who also is pro-abortion and feels we need to limit Christian influence in society. Then, we also have a thrice-divorced man with a potty-mouth who spends his spare time sports-betting, but who is pro-life voice and feels that despite his own struggles following Biblical principles they should still be the foundation of our nation. I am not going to vote for the family man. Nor am I going to abstain on principle from voting at all. I am going to vote pro-life, and pro-Biblical values. Notice the specific words I wrote. I am not voting for the man. I am voting for the agenda.
It reminds me of Paul’s words to the Philippians: “Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice” (Philippians 1:15-18).
There are bad people who somehow find a way to stumble into doing the right thing. How does Paul respond? He rejoices. I get it – this can be a discouraging time to be a believing voter. But if Christians don’t vote, then the enemy will get the win every time. God is working His will in this world. And usually, He is using His people to carry it out. I pray that in Israel on October 27 and in the United States on November 3, God’s people fill the voting booths to show that they back life, Israel, and a Biblical agenda.
PALESTINE CURSE AND THE CHAOS DOCTRINE
Throughout history, standing against Israel has almost always been culture de rigueur. Certainly, there were times when parts of the world would get a conscience and pity the Jews, e.g., post-Holocaust and post-October 7, but those periods were always short and when antisemitism returned it was with such gusto as to make up for lost time. That is what we have seen over the past two years. Once the crocodile tears were “dried”, hating Israel and loving Palestine were once again in fashion.
This cultural turn was seen throughout Europe and in America. Palestine is currently the rally point around which the riotous mob in France and other European nations has been gathering to throw their Molotov cocktails. The media points to high rents and bad economy as the cause of the violence. If that is true, then why are there so many Palestinian flags and keffiyehs amongst the disorderly anarchists? Palestine has become the new Che Guevara and hating Israel is the core of the new revolution. And the Palestinian group has become a curse to all who support them.
What the temper-tantrumming toddlers who wave the Palestine banner fail to realize is that no country or group has ever stood strongly against Israel and come out better for it. That’s never. Start with the Amalekites and the Egyptians and roll throughout history to today. It didn’t work for the Persians of antiquity and it’s not working for the Iranians of today. So, I’m not worried about what these haters of Jewry will do to my nation. I am concerned about what this revolutionary Palestine crowd will do to their own countries.
The Chaos Doctrine, also known as the “3.5% Rule”, says that if you can get 3.5% of a population – which works out to around 8% of adults – to actively and visibly stand against a government for a period of time, that government will eventually either be forced to acquiesce to the dissenters’ demands or it will collapse entirely. That is what you are seeing in France today. That is what you could soon see in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, the United States, and other nations who are housing those who have fallen under the sway of the Palestine Curse. That is why I mentioned a nation needing to be strong. Writing off the fringe as an insignificant band of kooks is not a strategy that works in the long run. This is one more reason why believers need to take advantage of their rights as citizens and vote while there is still time.
