Is Zionism racism? The Green Party in the United Kingdom made the controversial decision to declare Zionism a form of “racism” and officially adopt an anti-Zionist position, calling for the erasure of Israel.
World Israel News reported the details of this outlandish story:
The UK Green Party voted Sunday to define Zionism as racism and formally adopt an anti-Zionist platform, approving a motion that drew condemnation from British Jewish organizations and a declaration from Israel’s Foreign Ministry that the Green Party leader, Zack Polanski, will be barred from entering Israel.
Delegates backed the measure 1,022 to 813 at the party’s annual conference on October 4, 2026.
The motion characterizes Zionism as an ethnonationalist political project that privileges one group over others and maintains that anti-Zionism is not antisemitism.
The new policy supports Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS), an arms embargo against Israel, Palestinian liberation, the right of return and a single democratic state across historic Palestine.
British Jewish organizations strongly condemned the decision.
The Board of Deputies, the Community Security Trust, the Jewish Leadership Council and the Movement for Progressive Judaism said the measure effectively makes antisemitism official party policy and jeopardizes the safety of British Jews…
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also denounced the vote, describing the resolution as a “stain on the history of the United Kingdom” and saying it went beyond legitimate political debate.
In an X post, Israel’s Foreign Ministry pointed out that the Green Party defined the Green Party’s resolution as “calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state ‘from the river to the sea’ – meaning the destruction of the State of Israel.”
The UK Green Party has no understanding of the geopolitical reality surrounding Israel, its history, or most importantly, what God’s Word says about Israel. The Bible makes it clear that God has an enduring purpose and plan for the Jewish people on the land of Israel. To stand against what God has declared concerning Israel is ultimately to stand against the God of the universe. That’s a scary place to be.
God Himself is a Zionist. Let that sink in.
Psalm 132:13-14 states, “For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.”
In Zechariah 8:2-3 we read, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I am zealous for Zion with great zeal; With great fervor I am zealous for her. Thus says the Lord: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, The Mountain of the Lord of hosts, The Holy Mountain.”
Isaiah 14:32 declares, “That the Lord has founded Zion, and the poor of His people shall take refuge in it.”
In Psalm 87:2-3 we are told, “The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God! Selah”
God is a Zionist. He founded Zion. He chose Zion. He loves Zion. He is zealous for Zion. If you believe your political party can ultimately prosper in its endeavors while openly defying what God has declared concerning Zion and the Jewish people… think again!
The bottom line is this: Zionism is not racism—and anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism.
Even more seriously, opposition to God’s declared purposes for Zion is opposition to God Himself. Scripture gives a sober warning to those who set themselves against what God has said. In Genesis 12:3, God says that He will bless those who bless His chosen people and curse those who curse them. It’s really that simple.
Wake up, Green Party.
