You may have seen cars with bumper stickers on them with the word COEXIST. There is a subtle though clear message tucked away behind this single word. The message is that religion is the problem behind many or even all of the world’s problems. We’re told that if religious groups could just “celebrate the common ground” between them and tolerate their differences, the world would be a better place. Sadly, the T in COEXIST is in the form of the cross, and thus Christianity is lumped together with some other religions represented by symbols that coincide with the other letters in the word. The Christian message of “love your enemies and do good to those who hate you” is lumped in with other religions, including one that has been known for religious extremism since its inception. While all religions have their extremists, Islam is more known for adherents that exhibit extremist behavior than other groups.

Although the name Ali Shariati would not be familiar to most people, he was in many ways the ideological architect of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. Shariati was born in Iran but studied in Paris during the 1960s. It was during this time in a Western institution that Shariati developed a new theoretical approach to the combination of Marxism, existentialism (the philosophical belief we are each responsible for creating purpose or meaning in our own lives) and Islam. Though he did not live to see the 1979 Revolution (he died in 1977), his writings mobilized a generation of revolutionaries.

I came across some things written by Dr. Peter Hammond, a South African missionary. He had made a study of ways Islam gains control of nations. Hal had also made an extensive study of Islam, especially when writing his book, The Everlasting Hatred: The Roots of Jihad. Dr. Hammond’s straightforward warnings intrigued Hal. A Washington school district has agreed to stop imposing a policy that forced students to hide their Bibles in sealed envelopes. The district must also stop barring a Christian nonprofit from participating in certain school fairs. LifeWise Academy, a nonprofit which offers public school students voluntary Bible education during school hours, challenged the policies in a lawsuit with the help of First Liberty Institute. As part of the settlement, Everett School District must publicly apologize and pay $275,000 in attorney fees, as well as provide religious liberty training for school board members.

Sources in Nepal and South Korea state that the Koreans were arrested at a gathering at the Nepal New Covenant College (NNCC) in Morang District on Oct. 9. NNCC Principal Sarad KC told UCA News that “the visitors were interacting with believers inside a local bible college and not preaching or sharing the gospel in public with the intention of proselytization. The arrest raises fears over targeted hostility towards Christians by the state.” The NNCC has been teaching theological courses for Nepalese Christians since 2013.

Nine of the nation’s largest banks relied on subjective decision-making and the opinions of advocacy organizations to terminate customer accounts or deny service to potential customers—often because of Biblical beliefs on key moral issues—between 2020 and September 2025. The findings, released Wednesday, were part of a report from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury that charters, regulates, and supervises banks and federal savings associations.

Next week, the church will be in the Magistrates’ Court appealing a Community Protection Notice (CPN) which seeks to silence their freedom to share the full gospel with the community. Council wardens issued the CPN against Bread of Life, prohibiting the church’s use of amplification as well as warning them about the content of their preaching in relation to divine judgment and hell.

The largest student-led youth organization in U.S. agriculture barred the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) from participating in the 2026 National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis later this month, solely for its religion. Christian legal organization Liberty Counsel filed a demand letter on FCFI’s behalf. The National Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization denied FCFI exhibit space, stating that FFA policy bars groups with “religious affiliations” from eligibility to exhibit. For decades prior to 2018, the FCFI, a non-profit Christian ministry that seeks to connect faith and agriculture, had been exhibiting at the FFA’s national expo. But around 2018, it was “disinvited” for not aligning with FFA’s “diversity, equity, and inclusion” expected goals.
