As Anti-Christian Sentiment Grows Across The West, The Struggle Of The Church In Communist China Presents A Warning

Most Christians are aware of the struggle the church in Communist China has had with the government of that country. They have suffered from years of intense persecution and the limited ability to legally evangelize, gather to worship, or even teach their own children about Christ.

This increased further in 2019 when the Chinese government announced it would more strictly enforce a law that โ€œprohibits religious groups from proselytizing or converting anyone under the age of 18โ€โ€”including Christiansโ€™ own children.

Chinese Christians canโ€™t legally host Sunday school classes, bring their children to church, or teach their own children their Christian faith. Teachers canโ€™t share their faith, and religious materials canโ€™t be used as textbooks. Those who break the law can face fines or other consequences.

While this should sadden us and remind us to keep our Chinese brothers and sisters in prayer, it shouldnโ€™t surprise us. Persecution has been the norm since the beginning of the church (just read the book of Acts!). Jesus told us to expect persecution, and thatโ€™s certainly what weโ€™ve seen around the world throughout church history.

As anti-Christian sentiment grows across the West, including here in America, we can expect policies like those in China to make their way over here, eventually (unless something changes, of course). Actually, the foundation for such persecution and limitation of Christian freedom is already being laid in America and the entire Western world.

Itโ€™s not surprising that China has spent years attacking childrenโ€”Godโ€™s plan is for faith to be transmitted to the next generation through godly parents (Deuteronomy 6:7, Psalm 145:4). And Jesus says that we must have the faith of a child to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:3). Children are generally very receptive to the gospel, and many Christians come to faith in Christ as children, living lives of devotion to him from a young age.

Pray for the direction of Western society. Pray for Chinese Christians. Pray for the parents in China and their children. No matter what the government says about our Christian faith, we must obey God and not men (Acts 5:29). Many parents bravely defy the government and share the good news of Christ with their children. Pray for their protection and boldness. Above all, pray that many peopleโ€”including children of all agesโ€”will come to faith in Christ.

Why The Book Of Revelation Demands Our Study And Awe

This view is espoused often by those frustrated with the various (and diverging) interpretations of prophecy. โ€œIโ€™m not amillennial, premillennial, or postmillennial,โ€ they say. โ€œIโ€™m panmillennialโ€”the Lord will cause all things to โ€˜pan outโ€™ in the end.โ€ While itโ€™s good for a laugh, it makes for a horrible approach to the Scriptures. Imagine if we applied such a lazy approach to other areas of theology, such as the deity of Christ or gender roles in the church. If God thought something was important enough that He revealed it in His Word, then it most definitely demands our study.

The Diminishing Of Love: A Biblical Prophecy On Full Display In Modern Culture

โ€œAnd because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax coldโ€ (Matthew 24:12). Our Lordโ€™s words, of course, never fail, because He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. His prophecy telling of the diminishing of love within fallen humanity as the end of the age approaches frames all the evil and wickedness we have been witnessing for decades.

United Nations Against Israel: The Backwards Antisemitic Thinking Of The World Is Stunningโ€”But Not Unanticipated

On Thursday, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu walked to the podium at the United Nations General Assembly, the majority of those seated rose to their feet, not to applaud but to stage a mass walkout. The same had occurred in 2024โ€”though it was discovered that assistants and lower-ranking individuals were deliberately brought into the room to make the exit appear more dramatic for the international cameras. Netanyahu was ready for a repeat of the display, beginning his speech on Thursday with the following statement: โ€œMr. President, before I begin, just a quick announcement: If there are any other moral cowards who havenโ€™t yet left this hallโ€”please do so now. Thank you very much.โ€
