They say that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. We’re seeing this in real time in 2026 when it comes to the rise of Islam in the West.
Muslim populations in Europe, Canada, Australia, and right here in the United States are growing at a rapid clip—so is the building of mosques. What makes this mass immigration so unprecedented is that these new Muslim arrivals have been welcomed in by their host countries. Despite approximately 1,400 years of confrontation between Islam and the West and jihad after jihad launched against non-Muslims, today’s so-called Western leaders apparently think this time will be different.
If you understand Islamic history, you know how dangerously wrong they are.
The armies of Islam roared out of the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century. They violently conquered much of the known world, from the Middle East and North Africa to South Asia and swaths of Europe. They drove as far as central France before being turned back and reached the gates of Vienna twice.
Rome was sacked by Muslim armies. Sicily, Hungary, Greece, and the Balkans all came under Islamic control. The crown jewel of Islam’s European conquests was Spain, which was ruled by Muslims for nearly 800 years before they were finally expelled in 1492.
Given that history, you would think that Spain would be reluctant to throw open its doors to Islam. But that’s exactly what the socialist government of Pedro Sánchez has done, granting amnesty to some one million Muslim migrants and watching helplessly earlier this month when tens of thousands of Moroccan Muslims stormed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
Many of them will now stay in Ceuta, transforming it, or move on to other parts of Europe. Either Sánchez is completely ignorant and naive to allow this, or he’s doing it intentionally.
Like many radical leftist leaders, Sánchez thinks he can use Islam as a battering ram against the traditional Judeo-Christian civilization that they both despise. Just look at New York City. We’re about to mark 25 years since the deadliest Islamic terror attack in U.S. history. Yet, New York is now being led by an Islamo-communist mayor who never misses an opportunity to bash America and Jews and praise Hamas.
Then there’s New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who donned an Islamic headscarf the other day in a visit to a New York mosque. Total surrender. She gushes about feminism and “my body, my choice,” until she’s handed a hijab and told to wear it.
If the left only understood history, they would know this doesn’t end well.
We saw a similar red-green alliance between Islam and leftists during the 1979 Iranian Revolution. The Marxists and socialists all backed Ayatollah Khomeini’s rise. Once he took power, he had all of them rounded up and either thrown in prison or executed.
The Soviet dictator Vladimir Lenin is said to have called these kinds of people “useful idiots.” They support a cause without even realizing how badly they’re being manipulated—until it’s too late.
