Of course, they are claiming this will not “criminalize faith,” but we’ve seen what has happened in Europe (and what has already happened in Canada) when “hate crime” legislation is passed. Christians are specifically targeted for their beliefs, especially regarding gender, marriage, and the sanctity of human life. Every thinking person knows that this change to the Criminal Code will be used in exactly the same way eventually (and probably not far in the future). It’s all part of the spiritual battle raging around us as Satan attempts to silence Christians.
Many of these changes are minor—commas in the wrong place or minor word shifts—but this is the Word of God we’re talking about. Even the details matter. Jesus made this clear when he said, "For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished" (Matthew 5:18). As the YouVersion CEO said, “For Bible translation, every word and punctuation is meaningful to Scripture translation.”
Whenever a nation loses sight of the value of life (which always happens when the biblical worldview is replaced with an anti-God worldview!), the most vulnerable are the first to be sacrificed. The disabled, terminally ill, elderly, orphan, widow, and unborn suffer. God commands us not to murder (Exodus 20:13). Assisted dying might be dressed up in compassionate language, but really it is the murder of some of the most vulnerable.
Without God (the Creator God of the Bible), there is no objective standard for morality or “good” values versus “bad” values. What makes murder wrong? What makes adultery wrong? We intuitively know they are wrong, but what actually makes them wrong is the objective standard of the absolute authority of the Word of God. Without that standard, everything is arbitrary.
If you heard someone say a bill would “recognize the . . . inherent right to live,” you might assume the speaker was referring to the inherent, God-given right that unborn babies have to life. But you would be wrong in this case, as this statement was recently made about . . . wild rice. This story just highlights the inconsistency that happens when people abandon the truth of God’s Word and worship the creature, rather than the Creator.
This is all a reminder of what I’ve been saying for years and years—just because a school advertises itself as Christian doesn’t mean it holds to what the Bible teaches or that it imparts a biblical worldview to its students. So many schools have compromised on the truth of God’s Word and have drifted far from their original Christian foundation.
There’s a DANGEROUS lie about religion that even many Bible-believing Christians fall for. Today, I share several passages to expose this misconception.
Neufeld’s case has been in the courts for nine years, and the BC Human Rights Tribunal recently handed down its decision, calling Neufeld’s public comments based on his beliefs “dehumanizing,” “delegitimizing,” and “extremely serious and damaging.” Why? Because: "If a person elects not to 'believe' that gender identity is separate from sex assigned at birth, then they do not 'believe' in transpeople. This is a form of existential denial."
The population drop-off developed nations are forecasting (and beginning to vividly see in places like Japan) is not surprising. We’ve told generations of young women and men that marriage and family are just a choice some people make but are not inherently valuable in themselves, that children will hold back their careers or keep them from doing the things they want to do, that pets are a replacement for a child, and that babies are a choice rather than a gift from the Creator. This kind of philosophy has consequences! And the nose-diving birth rate is just one of them.
From the beginning of my ministry, I have given testimony of my parents raising their children to stand on the authority of God’s Word, never knowingly compromise God’s Word, and have a heart for reaching people with the gospel message. I have testified many times of my father’s leadership of my family and how he led us to stand boldly on the Bible’s authority. We all saw our parents’ love for God and His Word and their heart for the gospel. I can’t emphasize the impact our parents had on our lives enough.
Canada legalized euthanasia for terminal illness in 2016—just a decade ago—and it has progressed from being an option for those with a terminal illness diagnosis to people being euthanized against their wishes. And it will only get worse from here! This is the logical, sad result of building one’s thinking on man’s word and not God’s Word.
A recent opinion piece in The New York Times claims, “Americans are turning against gay people.” A host of similar articles—with perhaps less provocative titles—appeared in other news outlets highlighting the findings of two research psychologists who claim that since 2020, “support for gay people [has begun] to ‘sharply reverse’”—especially among young people.
This should be taken as a warning to Western nations as well. Communism and socialism are not the answers to the world’s problems. Since those world systems are incompatible with Christianity, they produce hopelessness while at the same time destroying the family. And sadly, there are politicians implementing socialism in the USA! It will be a disaster here as it has been everywhere else it’s been tried. So what is the solution to this epidemic of hopelessness in China?
The LGBTQ worldview is permeating our secular schools (and, sadly, even some “Christian” schools). Secular schools (e.g., public schools in the USA) are not neutral. The Bible says you’re either for Christ or against. And when you build your thinking on man’s word instead of God’s Word, then ultimately anything goes. And we’re seeing that happen now throughout the secular anti-God education system.
Today, I respond to Bill Nye’s absurd claims that biblical creationism hinders technological advancement and lowers people’s quality of life. I emphasize the fact...
God’s Word isn’t silent or ambiguous on this issue. It speaks with one voice and speaks clearly and loudly: Human life is of immeasurable value. This is highlighted with an exclamation point at the cross when Jesus gave his life for us. Abortion, discarding embryos, and euthanasia say, “You will die for me” or “I will choose when and how I die.” The gospel says, “The Creator of the universe and the Lord of all creation left glory to come to this earth, lived a perfect life, and died in your place that you might be saved from slavery to sin and live with God forever.”
That genealogy in Genesis 5 is very tight. In fact, the wording literally states about those listed, “He himself begat.” You can’t put gaps in there. There’s no way you can fit millions of years in there. So people say, “Well, if we’re going to fit millions of years into the Bible, somehow we have to do it before Adam,” which means somewhere within the six days of creation. And that is the reason I find that people don’t want to believe in six literal days—because ultimately they’re trying to fit the millions of years somewhere into the Bible.
In other words, a large percentage of churchgoers do not have a biblical worldview when it comes to the sanctity of human life. Rather, these churchgoers have simply adopted the culture’s view (from the secular, thus anti-Christian, worldview) that children are a choice and their lives can be ended at the convenience of the parents—and 19% have acted on it!
It’s not creationists ignoring the evidence! We see over and over that science and reason agree with and confirm the truth that we find in God’s Word. Just consider the complexity of DNA, the intricate language system written into every cell of every living thing; the “fearfully and wonderfully” developing unborn baby (human development is incredibly complex!); the precise order of the heavenly bodies; and the intricacies of earth’s ecosystems. It all cries out for a Creator God.
But the promise of the Messiah isn’t just found at the beginning of Genesis—it continues throughout the book. Actually, it continues throughout the entire Old Testament, as the overarching theme is “Humanity is sinful, but a Savior is coming.”
This was four men “marrying” each other. This was not a legal ceremony as polygamy is not legal in Germany, but the clergywoman said it was “marriage in the eyes of God.” But it is no such thing since God defines marriage as one man for one woman and calls the relationship these four men have with each other an abomination (Leviticus 20:13) and evidence of God turning them over to “dishonorable passions” and then to “a debased mind to do what ought not to be done” (Romans 1:26, 28).
The sheer number of persons destroyed in the typical IVF process highlights the commodification of life, where babies are created only to be destroyed if they aren’t “good enough.” (But who defines “good enough”?) Christians must speak out against the intentional killing of babies, whether those babies are forming in the womb or in a petri dish. Each individual embryo is a person made in the image of God, fearfully and wonderfully knit together by him and deserving of life. They are not a commodity to be kept or discarded at the whim of the parents or a technician in a lab.
Man can’t escape the fact that “that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, both His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse” (Romans 1:19–20).
A few weeks ago, a short documentary from a secular news media outlet proclaimed “the quiet surge of France’s evangelicals,” sharing that “evangelical churches are booming in France, a country often seen as one of the most secular [atheistic] in Europe. They’re multiplying so fast that every ten days, a new evangelical church opens its doors”—a new church every ten days!
In order to continue with semester registration, students must achieve “a perfect score,” which requires them to answer in ways that align with gender ideology, including that “failing to use one’s self-declared trans pronouns or protesting the presence of men in women’s restrooms constitutes a hostile environment and qualifies as harassment.”
Sadly, many evolutionists will accept that life was created . . . but they’ll say it was created by aliens who evolved first (but, of course, that just brings up the question of the origin of their life—but since aliens have never been observed, we can’t even begin to study that!). In the foolishness and sinfulness of the hard human heart, we will believe in anything rather than in the God of the Bible. It’s the reality of our sinful condition!
Dying With Dignity Canada, a euthanasia (actually, murder) activist group, believes that “maturity” rather than age should determine who is eligible for medical assistance in dying and “recommends minors as young as 12 be included in the program, and goes as far as to suggest 16 and 17-year-olds shouldn’t even need parental consent to be killed by a doctor if they fit broad criteria.”
This is a truly horrifying story. It highlights the heartlessness of those who view children, not as gifts from God, made in his very image and beloved by him, but rather as commodities to be had or discarded at the will of the parent. It’s the story of a family who named their baby Reid Owen Edwards—whose initials intentionally spell R.O.E. of Roe v. Wade fame—to honor the killing of the baby’s older sister by abortion!
These men, who dress like women and call themselves “dolls,” work hard to ensure that women have no private spaces and that men who say they are women are treated just like women—which means there’s really no such thing as a woman at all! That certainly doesn’t sound like they are making the world “a little bit better and brighter for women.”
Without the biblical worldview, eventually everything ends in inconsistency and absurdity because, as Romans 1:22 puts it, “Claiming to be wise, they became fools.” This was perfectly highlighted in an exchange that took place in San Diego on Halloween night and was caught on video.
People know such depravity (sexual sin being the immediate context) is evil, but they not only do it, they approve of others doing it. And the nation of Canada has just put this on display for the world with a 5-4 decision made by their Supreme Court. The decision ruled that it’s unconstitutional to impose “one-year mandatory minimum jail sentences for accessing or possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation materials.”
I remember once at a conference a secular scientist said something like, “I don’t see any evidence for a global flood, all you find are fossil layers all over the world.” So blind! The evidence was staring him in the face. The violent deaths of billions and billions of creatures in rock layers all over the globe point to something very different happening in the past—a massive catastrophe.
According to a new study from George Barna’s Cultural Research Center, “Americans are changing their understanding and definition of ‘sin,’” which, the article says, “signals a dramatic shift in the nation’s moral compass and builds on earlier reports documenting widespread confusion about the existence and nature of sin.” Not surprisingly, younger generations showed more moral confusion than their older counterparts.
It’s appalling to me as a Christian to see “pastors” taking to social media platforms like Tik Tok to share with potentially millions of viewers that they doubt God’s existence, that the Bible never says that sex outside of marriage is wrong, that God is “queer,” that the Bible is not pro-life, or that it has errors
And no matter how lifelike and seemingly sentient AI becomes as programming gets better and better, it will never be a person. Why? Because ultimately being a person means we’re made in the very image and likeness of God. And a computer program is just made in the image of man, not the image of God: "Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness...” (Genesis 1:26).
Want a direct line to Jesus Christ where he speaks to you personally? Well, apparently you need look no further than “Text with Jesus,” one of a variety of apps that allow you to “chat” with Jesus, Moses, and other biblical figures. Do these kinds of apps help people “explore Scripture,” as the creator claims? Or are they utter blasphemy?
There’s a wave of so-called “pastors” on social media spreading messages that completely twist Scripture. Today, I respond to some of these clips and...
In the most recent study, Barna found that “43% of men reported attending church weekly, compared with 36% of women.” This is the largest gap in church attendance between men and women since Barna first began tracking this decades ago. And what’s really interesting is which young men are “leading the way in church attendance”: “married fathers with children under 18.”
Christians “are good” because Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Because of the mercy and grace God has extended to us, his people follow after him, walking in obedience to his commandments. It has nothing to do with earning God’s favor and a place in heaven but everything to do with loving the One who died for us and therefore desiring to honor and glorify him. Yes, this nation needs to be “one nation under God” if we want to be a moral nation. But “being good” (however you define that!) won’t save any individual person
Basically, any chapter that gives women a specific command feminists don’t like is “harmful” to women (based on their arbitrary standard of “harmful,” of course). But, no worries—you can just explain them away! How much more literal could she have been in showing her distain for the very words of God? Rather than wrestle with the Scriptures, comparing Scripture with Scripture, to determine what God intended for us to understand from his Word, just throw the Bible away and listen to the culture!
Christians must do the same. We cannot leave our Christian beliefs—our biblical worldview—at the door when we engage in politics as a citizen or as a politician. We’re not neutral, and neither is the sphere we’re entering. We’re to seek the good of the nation we’re in and use our influence to be salt and light for such a time as this as we do the King’s business until he returns.
The state of theology among so-called Evangelicals is sobering. It really should be a wake-up call to both pastors and parents. We’ve raised generations on “Bible stories” without giving them the meat of God’s Word, teaching them to think biblically, or shaping their biblical worldview. Instead of being guided by Scripture, they’re guided by a mishmash of biblical teaching and our culture’s beliefs.
You won’t hear this talked about in many churches. In order to attract people and keep them in the pews, many churches downplay man’s sin, focusing instead on inspirational and uplifting messages. This almost singular focus on the “positive” is unhealthy because it’s not what God does in his Word. He shows us our sinfulness, even giving us his law as a mirror to highlight it!
Many Christians love to use the big bang as “proof” of a Creator. They’ll say, “Look, science shows there had to have been a beginning. God was the ‘first cause’ who started everything.” But what do those Christians do now that scientists are abandoning or seriously rethinking the big bang?
Think back to your high school or college biology textbook, or any evolutionary documentary on “early earth” you’ve ever watched. How was early earth described? Probably as some “hellish” landscape with bubbling lava, no liquid water, and absolutely no life. That’s the story kids are still being told—and even evolutionists don’t really believe it anymore.
