Without the biblical worldview, eventually everything ends in inconsistency and absurdity because, as Romans 1:22 puts it, “Claiming to be wise, they became fools.” This was perfectly highlighted in an exchange that took place in San Diego on Halloween night and was caught on video.
In the short video, a man with a beard and dressed as a woman in a skirt, dangly earrings, makeup, and tights (it appears from what’s said in the video that he identifies as transgender and was not just wearing a Halloween costume) addresses a woman dressed in a Native American Halloween costume, and he’s offended at her cultural appropriation in wearing a historical costume. Yes, you read that right—a man appropriating being a woman is concerned over a woman “appropriating” another culture!
It’s a display of the absurdity and utter inconsistency that comes from abandoning the truth of God’s Word and adopting a worldview based on man’s word. If there is no male and female, then there is no biological reality, therefore ethnicity likewise means nothing! If a man can just “become” a woman because he says so, then why can’t a woman just “become” a Native American because she feels like it? It’s so inconsistent!
It’s only when we start with Scripture, specifically Genesis 1–11, and have the true history of the world that we can properly understand both gender/sex and ethnicity. When we start with the true history found in God’s Word, we know God made us male and female in his image and that there is only one race, the human race, with different people groups forming relatively recently after the dispersion of peoples from Babel.
It’s the history found in Genesis that builds a proper, consistent worldview!
