Despite Being An Atheistic Stronghold, France Experiences ‘Quiet Surge’ Of Evangelicals

God is continuing to grow his church around the world, even in countries that for decades have been atheistic, secular strongholds.

A few weeks ago, a short documentary from a secular news media outlet proclaimed “the quiet surge of France’s evangelicals,” sharing that “evangelical churches are booming in France, a country often seen as one of the most secular [atheistic] in Europe. They’re multiplying so fast that every ten days, a new evangelical church opens its doors”—a new church every ten days!

And much of this turn to evangelicalism is happening among the younger generations. The documentary shares, “In some of Europe’s least religious countries, Gen Z shows stronger religious beliefs than older generations.” These new evangelical church attendees are also from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. According to the video, much of this church growth is being fueled by people sharing their faith on social media. Notice this movement is not happening from most of the long-established churches.

Of course, as with any such “surge” in churches, there will be some that won’t teach solid doctrine or will be focused on entertainment rather than the gospel, and we pray the Lord will root out such churches. But overall, this trend gives us cause to rejoice—God is working among the younger generations, and it’s so noticeable that the media is reporting on it!

We’re seeing a similar spiritual hunger here in the US among that same demographic, and it’s so encouraging to see it in other nations as well. Let’s continue to pray, not only for America, but for our brothers and sisters in Christ in other nations. Pray that God will continue to bring people to himself, that these new churches will stay rooted in the gospel and biblical authority, and that those recognizing the emptiness of atheism and “spirituality” will come to Christ and have their thirst quenched by the living water.

Praise the Lord for what he’s doing!

How Allegory Reduces The Bible To Nothing More Than A Work Of Fiction

It is God alone who predicts the future. Prophecy is one of God’s signatures that tells us that we can trust in Him and His Word. It is what separates the Bible from all other religious writings in the world. But if we consistently use allegorical hermeneutics, as Charles Ryrie points out, then in effect what we have just done is reduce the Bible to nothing more than a work of fiction. How tragic! With hermeneutics like that, it is no wonder so many people want nothing to do with Bible prophecy. It is no wonder pastors refuse to preach and teach events concerning the future, and it is no wonder it can be so hard to understand.

Despite The Distorted Claims Of Many, Hitler Was Not ‘A Christian’

As other dictators have done, he took over the churches and used their organizational structure to influence the citizens—though the teachings allowed were anything but biblical. William Shirer, who chronicled the Nazi regime, stated that “the Nazi regime intended eventually to destroy Christianity in Germany” and substitute paganism. Hitler’s vision for Germany was defined in a thirty-point program for the “National Reich Church,” which “categorically claims the exclusive right and the exclusive power to control all churches within the borders of the Reich.”

Jan Markell: You Can’t Have A Genuine Revival With False Doctrine Raging

I hear a dozen evangelists stating that we are on the verge of a great revival. One self-proclaimed prophet says that a billion souls will come to faith in the coming weeks and months. If my Rapture is imminent, how can there be an imminent revival? Which is it? The Bible does talk about a coming revival. The question concerns its timing. Is it in the coming days, or is it after the Rapture when the “left behind” world realizes they should have listened to believers like you and me, get a second chance, and multitudes come to faith?
