Witchcraft For Kids: Magic Mixies Magical Misting Cauldron

Cabbage Patch Dolls, Furbies, Tickle Me Elmo … each year has its hot holiday toy list, which inevitably features one item that’s impossible to get even without supply chain issues. There are a couple of hot ticket items for Christmas 2021, but one magical-themed toy stands out from the rest.

The Magic Mixies Magical Misting Cauldron is essentially a stuffed animal with a gimmick attached. Promotional copy encourages kids to “mix your potion and make your pet!” This interactive toy comes with a plastic cauldron, “magical” ingredients, and a book of spells that help children “create” their stuffed animal from scratch.

The Amazon instructions for the Magic Mixies say, “Follow the spell by adding the magical ingredients to your Cauldron one step at a time, waiting for the green light and tapping 3 times…when the potion is finished watch as REAL MIST begins to rise from the Cauldron.” A new stuffed animal emerges from the mist in the pot.

Once that spell-casting is complete, kids can “make real Magic happen again and again” by reloading Magic Mixies back into the cauldron to show their friends, or they can make up their own spells using the “Spell Mode” of play. The item is selling out nationwide, with re-sellers offering Magic Mixies for exorbitant prices days before the Christmas holiday.

Pretend magic is nothing new. But this toy comes when there’s been an increased push to advertise occult entertainment to children in particular. The Disney cartoon “The Owl House” depicts a young girl serving as a witch’s apprentice and learning to become one herself. The series, which received accolades for LGBTQ+ representation, was just canceled in late 2021.

Occult-themed entertainment for their children is so common it’s almost easy to miss. Movies like “Harry Potter” glamorize wizardry and witchcraft, so it’s not too shocking to find toy cauldrons that “magically” create cute stuffed animal toys.

And witchcraft as a whole is growing in popularity among all age brackets, especially in the past five years. Daily Wire reported that the number of people who identify as witches outnumber those who are Presbyterians, according to a 2018 poll.

“As Christianity declines across the country, paganism has swung to the mainstream, with witchcraft paraphernalia for sale on every high street and practices normalized across popular culture,” the Telegraph reported. This has led to a booming $2 billion dollar industry that’s full of everything from tarot cards to crystals.

HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?

As our society continues to rebel against God and His standards of morality provided in Scripture, it should not surprise us that witchcraft is becoming more popular. The Bible has a lot to say on the topic of witchcraft. In the ancient world, such practices were widespread among Gentile (non-Jewish) nations.

God very clearly warned the Jewish people in the Old Testament to have nothing to do with witchcraft. In Leviticus, God warned those who take part in witchcraft, saying, “I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. Sanctify yourselves, therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God” (Lev. 20:6-7)

It is also important to note that although many view witchcraft as harmless “make-believe” especially when it is presented to children, through the Bible we know that witchcraft is more real than people think.

Although we often read in the Bible about “magicians” who falsely claim to have to have powers, we do have a few recorded instances in which the reality behind witchcraft is revealed.

For example, we read in 1st Samuel chapter 28, that Saul, the first king of Israel, sought out a woman with a “familiar spirit” (who consulted with demons). Armies were coming against Israel, and when Saul inquired to God, the Lord refused to answer him. Therefore, Saul came to a witch to contact Samuel, who had recently died, to ask him what he should do.

Saul was successful in contacting Samuel, who was less than pleased that Saul resorted to witchcraft. Similar to what we read in Leviticus, Samuel told Saul that God had set His face against him and the kingdom would be cut off for his actions and given to David.

It is important to understand that witchcraft is not simply imaginary, parents may not understand the dangers behind it, but satan surely does. What started as harmless-looking TV shows, movies, and games for kids has translated into an increasing number of now young adults diving headfirst into the occult.

Terry James, in his article, “Evil When Not Constrained,” discussed the push to promote the occult among children.

“While the Restrainer still continues to hold back evil below the level to which it will ascend during the Tribulation era, mankind is welcoming the invasion through the gates that once served to protect the most vulnerable,” he wrote. “It is a sure signal that God will not long continue to tolerate the intolerable.”

“Children are innocent before reaching the age of accountability for their souls,” he explained. “They are, until reaching that age (differing with each individual), accounted as having their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The inviting of the demon world into the minds of little ones is offense of major magnitude to the Creator of all things.”

Matthew 18:6 KJV – “But whoso shall offend [cause to sin/place stumbling block in front of] one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

A Proper Knowledge Of Israel And Eschatology Is Essential To Our Understanding Of God’s Word

I wonder if people ask you, like they ask me, “Why do you focus so much on Israel? Why not focus only on the gospel and how to live out our Christian lives today?” The gospel, our assurance of salvation, and the fulfillment of God’s promises are all tied to Israel. That’s why Israel matters so much! And that’s why teaching about Israel and eschatology is not only necessary but essential to our understanding of God’s Word and the hope we have in our soon-coming Savior, Israel’s Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Socialism And Bible Prophecy: Training Societies To Surrender Freedom To The State

Is socialism an economic system, or is it a worldview? Why are younger generations increasingly receptive to greater government involvement? Can freedom survive when personal responsibility is steadily transferred to the state? Does economic dependence make populations more willing to surrender liberty? Those are uncomfortable questions. But they are questions believers should be willing to ask. The Bible never says, “The antichrist will be a socialist.” Revelation does describe a future where political authority, religious allegiance, and economic participation become interconnected.

Michele Bachmann’s Advice To The President: ‘Take The Handcuffs Off Of Israel’

Michele Bachmann, a former congresswoman, 2012 Presidential Candidate, and outspoken friend of the Jewish State, advised the President to “take the handcuffs off of Israel” and enable the nation to handle its own self-defense unencumbered. On the premiere episode of “Falling Into Place” alongside co-host Jan Markell, Bachmann noted that Israel is being strong-armed into absorbing attacks on its nation—something that the United States, if it were in the same position, would never deem acceptable.
