Franklin Graham took to Facebook yesterday after a video came out on Twitter showing a six-year-old girl calming her brother’s fears by holding him and reciting 2 Timothy 1:7:

Watching the news can be pretty unsettling these days—even to children. Seven-year-old Brandon was fearful and anxious after seeing all the panic about COVID-19. But this Minnesota family of faith knew where to turn—to the Word of God.

Brandon’s mom Sheletta videotaped his sister helping him recite a powerful Bible verse. “But God did not give me a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.”

Sheletta told the media that while the world is stocking up on toilet paper and mayonnaise, jars of pickles and bottled water, she knew it was only Brandon’s faith that would get him through. She said, “We just believe in faith and we believe in Jesus and we’re not afraid to say it.”

This mom is teaching her children what will make a difference in their lives now and for eternity! There is a mountain of anxiety and alarm, and it is still building. It is as real as the virus itself—but it is treatable. There are people in need that we can reach out to help. Like a fireman runs to the fire, the church needs to respond to crises around us.”
