Girl Teaches Brother Bible Verse to Calm his Fear of Coronavirus; Rev. Graham Commends Mom

Franklin Graham took to Facebook yesterday after a video came out on Twitter showing a six-year-old girl calming her brother’s fears by holding him and reciting 2 Timothy 1:7:

Bible Verse Fear

Watching the news can be pretty unsettling these days—even to children. Seven-year-old Brandon was fearful and anxious after seeing all the panic about COVID-19. But this Minnesota family of faith knew where to turn—to the Word of God.

Brandon’s mom Sheletta videotaped his sister helping him recite a powerful Bible verse. “But God did not give me a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.”

Sheletta told the media that while the world is stocking up on toilet paper and mayonnaise, jars of pickles and bottled water, she knew it was only Brandon’s faith that would get him through. She said, “We just believe in faith and we believe in Jesus and we’re not afraid to say it.”

This mom is teaching her children what will make a difference in their lives now and for eternity! If you’re feeling concerned and afraid, I urge you to go to the Bible and let God comfort and speak to your heart. In the comments below, take a minute to share the verse that comforts you most in troubled times.

Below Rev. Graham’s Facebook message, comments poured in sharing the Bible verses that encourage them in the midst of fear. We have listed some of them below:

John 14:27 KJV – “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV – “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Nahum 1:7 KJV – “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”

Joshua 1:9 KJV – “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV – “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Earlier this week, Franklin Graham reminded the church that it is our responsibility to show the world why with God we are without fear:

“Many years ago, the great writer and theologian A.W. Tozer made this profound statement, “A scared world needs a fearless church.” That is so true,” Graham explained. “During this time with the coronavirus, fear is gripping the hearts of people around the world. There is a mountain of anxiety and alarm, and it is still building. It is as real as the virus itself—but it is treatable. There are people in need that we can reach out to help. Like a fireman runs to the fire, the church needs to respond to crises around us.”

In his book, Ariel Toaff claims that the use of blood for Passover was a regular thing in Jewish communities, and it is very damaging to judeo/Christian relations. The old canard lives on, as irrational as ever and as believable as ever by those who loathe the Jews and seek their complete destruction.

Tuesday night, as he wrestled with what the right path forward was, he turned to the Lord in prayer. “He was torn between trying to save his job and do the right thing,” House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul, a GOP colleague from Texas, said. “He prayed over it.”

God did not provide His Word so that it would simply die in the hands of the spiritually dead. He expected, as evidenced by Habakkuk, that it be shared – particularly that which was warning people of the two paths available – righteousness or wickedness.
