‘Woke’ Prosecutors & Judges Produced Nationwide Lawlessness By Showing There Are No Consequences For Crime: Former Police Chief

In an interview, Detroit’s former Police Chief, James Craig, decried the substantial rise in crime nationwide, pointing the finger at woke prosecutors and judges who have shown bad guys that there are “no consequences” for committing crimes.

Lack of accountability and “complicit” Democrat leadership is the root of the lawlessness problem, Craig explained to Breitbart News on Saturday.

“Governors certainly have an opportunity to use your bully pulpit to really call out woke prosecutors and woke judges,” he urged. “How many Democrats or the president or the governor or mayors are actually standing up and saying, ‘Enough of this. We need these violent predatory criminals locked up’? Nobody’s doing that.”

The former Police Chief, who is running for Governor in Michigan, further pointed to Democrat prosecutors who have sought to make criminal penalties less severe under the banner of “racial justice.”

One example is Carol Siemon, a prosecutor who pursued policy changes to limit felony firearm charges, which she asserted “disproportionately impact Black people.”

“Felony firearms is a very serious offense, so if you’re not going to charge that client, what message does that send to criminals? They can continue to do and engage in the bad deeds that they’re doing because they know there are no consequences to it,” Craig stressed. “What they’re doing is making victims today out of criminals instead of addressing the real victim, particularly in our vulnerable communities, and basically, these are communities of color. They’re the real victims.”

In an interview with Fox Business in December, the former Police Chief was asked about the White House’s claim that the rise in crime has resulted from the pandemic. In response, he underscored that the pandemic affecting crime is a pandemic of “rouge prosecutors [and] judged who are failing with bail reform.”

In January the New York Post reported about Manhattan’s DA ordering prosecutors to “stop seeking prison sentences for hordes of criminals and to downgrade felony charges in cases including armed robberies and drug dealing.”

Critics warned that the change was creating a “sanctuary city for crime” and “paving the way for an even bigger bloodbath than what we have seen in New York City already.”

Franklin Graham, in his article “Crime And No Punishment,” noted that Biblically speaking, a lack of consequences for criminals is problematic.

“I believe the fundamental cause of this problem—which I thought I would never see—is the absurd notion that crime and criminals don’t deserve to be justly punished,” he wrote. “The foundation of our justice system has always been punishment that fits the crime, but apparently it is now turning into crime and no punishment.”

“For centuries, the moral code for our justice system has relied on the fundamental concept of punishing transgressors of the law. Obey the law, and you have nothing to worry about. Disobey the law, and you will receive the bitter fruit of your disobedience. Any attempt to change that equation will ultimately result in the kind of chaos we are witnessing now,” the evangelist insisted. “Criminals who no longer fear proper punishment will simply continue to commit yet more offenses.”

Interestingly, Jesus stated that in the time prior to His return, “the love of many shall wax cold” as a result of “iniquity” abounding (Matthew 24:12).

The word “iniquity” in this verse comes from the Greek word “anomia,” which carries an intriguing meaning in light of the lawlessness we are witnessing in our criminal justice system.

“Anomia” means to be without law. More specifically, to be in a state in which laws exist but are flagrantly violated.

As Franklin Gramham further pointed out, Ecclesiastes 8:11 is another verse that sheds much light on lawlessness, stating: “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”

“God’s justice and holiness demand that evil be punished, not just here and now but in the eternal state as well,” he described. “Upon His glorious return, our Lord Jesus Christ will mete out judgment for those who have refused His gracious offer of salvation and instead lived as rebels on earth.”

“In God’s mercy for sin-stained humanity, His justice was executed upon His one and only Son at the cross,” he continued. “The punishment for our sins was completed, so that we who believe on His Name might no longer be condemned. ‘For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God’ (1 Peter 3:18).”

The Mirage Of Ceasefires And The Tug Of War: What Should Christians Think Of Unstable Talks Of ‘Peace’ In The Middle East?

he tension between war and peace in the Middle East is mind-boggling at times. Just when we think President Trump is about to order a massive wave of bombing against Iran, we wake up the next day to learn he has called off the attack. On the other hand, the ceasefires never last. Despite the highly publicized Memorandum of Understanding for peace, attacks and bombings resumed shortly after its signing. As students of Bible prophecy, we have a unique understanding of what’s happening in the conflict between Israel, Iran, and the proxies of the Persian state. We know that the battle is spiritual.

Calvary Chapel Pregnancy Center Calls Churches In Massachusetts To Stand Against Abortion Expansion, Celebration Of Evil

From the very first man that God created, we recognize the sanctity of life. When we understand how God views human life, we recognize that abortion is not simply a political issue; it concerns children created in the image of God. With that in mind, we should pay attention to what is happening in our nation, specifically within the state of Massachusetts.
