All Islamic nations have a duty to “erase” the Jewish State of Israel, and given the oppertunity they will all do so, the grandson of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini insisted on Wednesday.
The venomous interview, which openly called for the destruction of the United States and Israel, was conducted by Al Mayadeen TV, an independent news channel based in Beirut, Lebanon.
“The Israelis know full well that if the day comes when any Islamic nation is capable of firing missiles at Israel, and striking Israel, and if they are capable of erasing Israel – they will do to Israel what Hamas did to it,” Ali Ahmad Khomeini, the grandchild of the Ayatollah, claimed.
When questioned by the interviewer whether he truly meant “all the Islamic nations,” Khomeini responded in the affirmative, adding his displeasure that some muslim countries in the region are “not fulfilling their duty.”
“Today, we see that some countries in the region are not fulfilling their duty, saying that they are incapable of [erasing Israel]. Israel knows, America knows, and the leaders of the superpowers know that if the day comes when the Islamic countries are capable of bombing Israel, they will do it.”
Turning his attention to the United States, which is currently in talks with the regime, Khomeini issued a direct and ominous threat: “We say to the Americans: you will die before you see us humiliated.”
A ‘Nobel’ Fight?
Khomeini followed the lead of other Tehran politicians, attempting to frame the turmoil in Iran as a noble fight “defending our rights and our country.” Many of the Islamic nation’s leaders have alleged that the anti-regime protesters are a complex deception, being funded and organized by the United States and Israel in an effort to destabilize the country. However, polling from GAMAAN disproves this claim, showing that approximately 81% of the population in Iran is against the regime, with the figure skyrocketing to 99% for Iranians living abroad.
The Ayatollah’s grandson also neglected to mention that this supposedly “noble” fight has included the regime’s staggering slaughter of civilian protesters and an internet blackout to shield the eyes of the world from witnessing the extent of the mass killings.
As noted by Behold Israel Founder and President, Amir Tsarfati, “There is still a huge volume of bodies coming to Tehran. The estimates of protesters slaughtered by the Iranian government range from 30,000 to 80,000. Many were shot in the streets, others were killed in hospitals, and still more were unofficially executed in jails and prisons.”
“By far this is the largest slaughter of a civilian population by its government in this century,” Tsarfati underscored.
Even with the economic crisis, severe drought, widespread power outages, and near defeat of Iran’s terror proxies in the Middle East, the regime’s fixation has remained unchanged: the destruction of the United States and Israel—two nations they refer to as the “big satan” and “little satan.”
Middle Eastern Nations Committed To Israel’s Destruction?
Khomeini’s claim that all Middle Eastern nations stand at the ready to wipe Israel off the map is also not exactly reflective of reality. While Islamic Ideology inherently brings opposition to the Jewish State, multiple countries in the region have signed peace agreements with Israel, with several more seeking to follow suit over the last decade. A number of those nations cited a shared distrust of Iran as a primary reason for warming their relations with Israel.
Iran played a key role in Hamas’ massacre of 1,200 Israelis on October 7th, 2023, the event which sparked the war between Israel and Tehran’s terror proxies. Many analysts believe that the timing of Hamas’s attack was a strategic move by Iran to thwart Saudi Arabia’s joining of the Abraham Accords. For a time, the Iranian regime’s plot was successful, as nations with large muslim populations could not risk siding with Israel over the Palestinians in the conflict. However, as the war winds to a close, it is likely that Iran’s efforts have only delayed the expansion of the Abraham Accords.
BIble prophecy also suggests an increase in mild support for Israel among some Islamic nations. In Ezekiel chapters 38 through 39, we read of a future war—the “Gog and Magog” war—between Israel and a coalition of nations (including Iran, Russia, Turkey, and others). The coalition will attempt an invasion of Israel, an action the Bible states will be protested by nations such as modern Saudi Arabia.
As Dr. Mark Hitchcock previously highlighted, “The normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia will put Saudi Arabia at massive odds with Iran. They’re already leveling all kinds of accusations and warnings. That is what we see in Ezekiel 38. Sheba and Dedan, which is the Arabian Peninsula, will be on the opposite side of Iran and that war of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38:13).”
Capable Of Erasing Israel?
There is another important reality to note from Biblical prophecy: Every nation on earth—no matter the scope of their power and military fortitude—is incapable of erasing Israel.
It was God that reistablished the nation of Israel in our modern times, regathering the Jewish people from across the world (Ezekiel 36-37). It is God who steps in to defend Israel from the Ezekiel 38-39 coalition. It is God who will judge the nations for their treatment of Israel (Zech. 12, Joel 3, Matthew 25). It is Jesus who will return to the earth at His second coming, setting foot on the Mount of Olives in judgment and establishing the centerpoint of His Millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem (Zech. 14:4, Luke 1:33, Jeremiah 3:17, Revelation 20:6).
The grandson of Iran’s Supreme Leader, blinded by a warped and irrational Islamic ideology, is wrong on each and every statement.
