Israeli Conducts Rare Daytime Airstrikes Near Damascus Targeting Hezbollah Sites

Israel allegedly carried out a rare daytime airstrike against Hezbollah weapon caches in Damascus on Saturday, Syrian media reported.

The airstrike, which caused explosions around the capital, killed at least one Syrian Armed Forces soldier and wounded three others, Syrian state-run SANA news agency stated.

The sites reportedly contained several ammunition depots belonging to Hezbollah and other Iran-affiliated militias, reports state.

The military site of a Syrian Armed Forces division was also reportedly targeted in the airstrikes.

The news comes amid increasing Israeli military activity targeting Iranian proxies in Syria.

Two weeks ago, an alleged Israeli airstrike targeted Syrian and Iranian-backed forces near Palmyra, killing a Syrian soldier. Just a week earlier, Syrian air defenses were activated during a suspected Israeli strike on the T4 airbase near Homs.

Meanwhile on Saturday, an IAF F-15 fighter jet escorted an American B-1 heavy bomber that crossed over Israeli airspace on its way to the Persian Gulf.

The flight of the bomber, commonly called the “bone,” was part of the joint strategic cooperation with US forces in the Middle East.

In March, a United States Air Force B-52H “Stratofortress” bomber flew over the Persian Gulf before the plane was spotted in Israel heading back to its US base.

The flyover could be construed as a message to Iran, as US President Joe Biden is undertaking attempts to bring the Islamic Republic back to the negotiating table as it continues its advancement towards nuclear capabilities.

In related news, the IDF dispatched an officer to CENTCOM headquarters in Tampa, Florida, last week to boost cooperation. The former fighter pilot with the rank of major will be stationed in Tampa and will work to improve coordination between Israel and the US military. The Jewish state now falls under CENTCOM’s jurisdiction as part of a reshuffling by the Trump administration.

HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?

Iran has increasingly been advancing their efforts by way of Syria, using the war-torn country to house weaponry to attack the Jewish State, which has resulted in multiple Israeli strikes.

In Isaiah 17, we are told that in the last days, Damascus, the capital city of Syria, will be completely destroyed. Although we are not told how this will happen or by whom, Syria has become a hotbed of activity in the Middle East that those familiar with Bible Prophecy have been watching very closely.

As Behold Israel previously explained, “Biblically speaking, a day is coming where the city of Damascus is going to be decimated. The prophet Isaiah stated, “The burden against Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.” (Isaiah 17:1) As Iranian aggression continues to excel as they’re hellbent on the destruction of the Jewish state, which in return causes Israel to focus their military power on the city of Damascus, we can see the fulfillment of this prophecy more immanent than ever before.”

Damascus’s destruction could also be a catalyst to the Ezekiel 38-39 war in-which Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others come together from the north, with weaponry supplied by Russia, to attack the Jewish state.

The Throne Of David: The Divine Orchestration Of History And The Fulfillment Of God’s Promises

Nathan's presence in the genealogy of Jesus underscores the divine orchestration of history and the fulfillment of God's promises, which have been given in detail throughout the Bible. So, this Christmas, as you celebrate the cradle, make sure you also celebrate the fact that Jesus will wear the crown and rule from David’s throne, as revealed to Mary in Luke 1:32-33: "He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."

As Christmas Markets Become A Focal Point Of Islamic Hatred, It’s Time For The West To Take Notice

A warning is once again relevant, as the cherished Christmas market has become a focal point of their hatred. Long seen as a symbol of joy and celebration, a place for families to gather and share time together, to enjoy hot chocolate and seasonal foods, and to experience nativity displays and carol singers. They are now labelled a “high-risk” environment that requires armed police, concrete security barriers, and anti-terror protocols.

Christians Are Not Called To Fear The Future, They Are Called To Understand It

Indeed, it has become commonplace among many churches and Christian circles to avoid and even dismiss the subject of Bible prophecy. The rationale behind such a decision is often motivated by fear of teaching on matters that can be viewed as controversial or contentious. Instead of expounding on prophetic Scripture that may be viewed as difficult or having the potential for objections and debate, some churches choose to simply overlook, omit, and neglect these portions of God’s Word.
