Ken Ham: Are Biblical Moral Standards ‘A Myth’?

We’re increasingly seeing legislation pass in some countries that will almost certainly be used against Christians who stand on God’s Word. And there’s yet another example of such legislation, this time out of Canada, which has just banned so-called “conversion therapy” in a new bill, Bill C-4. Will this vaguely worded bill be used against Christians? It’s almost certain.

Reportedly the preamble for this bill states that “heterosexuality, cisgender gender identity and gender expression that conforms to the sex assigned to a person at birth are to be preferred over other sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions” is a “myth.” In other words, the biblical teaching and moral ethic that God created marriage to be between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24), that he created us male and female (Genesis 1:27), as confirmed by science, and that this is right and good is a “myth.” And, more than that, counseling others or sharing that truth with them in a conversation may now be illegal in Canada as “conversion therapy” (which is not really defined in the bill) and is now part of Canada’s criminal code. How long before they just outlaw the Bible outright?

So, what should Christians do in the face of such a bill? Well, we should do what some pastors across Canada and the United States did Sunday—preach the biblical truth of sexuality and marriage from God’s Word. To protest this bill, and show that the church is subject to Christ, not man, pastors in Canada urged other pastors to preach sermons Sunday on the Bible’s teaching on marriage and sexuality, and US pastors also joined in. Praise the Lord for Christian leaders who are unashamed of the Word of God and refuse to be silent regarding what it teaches.

I pray that believers across the West, as persecution looms, will resolve now to stand for Christ, no matter the cost, continuing to lovingly declare his truth and the gospel message in a dark and dying world.

John 15:18-20 KJV – “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

A Nation Founded Upon God: The Battle For The Soul Of America Is A Battle Worth Fighting

Independence Day reminds us that God has been at the center of our nation since its founding in 1776. Thomas Jefferson once said, “God who gave us life gave us liberty.” But friends, without God, there is no liberty. Jesus said in John 8:36, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Freedom is a gift—both spiritual freedom from the bondage of sin, and religious freedom to worship the Lord and live fearlessly for Jesus in the public square. But if we are not careful, our nation may lose the very freedoms upon which our country was founded.

Ravenous Wolves: Is James Talarico The Worst ‘Christian’ Politician?

Scripture is clear that not everyone who claims to be in Christ is actually in Christ. There are many who profess Christ with their mouths, but their hearts are far from him. And how do we know? Because they don’t do what He says: "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" (John 14:15). These people will quote the Bible, claim they love God, attend church, and seem very winsome or charming on the outside, but inside they are ravenous wolves seeking to destroy the flock of God.

Thomas Jefferson’s ‘Separation Of Church And State’ Never Meant Keeping God Out Of Government

In context, it’s clear this wall of separation was not created to keep religion out of the State. It was simply intended to protect religious freedom and to place boundaries on the State’s control over the Church. In fact, the United States Capitol served as a church building for seven decades and Jefferson himself was a regular attendee. He attended so faithfully that he earned a reserved seat. On the Sunday after he wrote the letter to the Danbury Baptists, he attended church services at the still-under-construction Capitol.
