A Palestinian driver attempted to ram into several Israeli troops on Sunday and crashed into a few vehicles that parked nearby, Hebrew media reported.
The assailant was neutralized and detained by soldiers at the scene.
The incident took place near the Ein Mabu’a spring in the West Bank, southeast of Ramallah.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), “troops apprehended an assailant suspected of an attempted car-ramming attack adjacent to Ein Mabu’a.
“Following a report received regarding a car-ramming incident, an initial inquiry of the suspect and of the incident suggest that this was an attempted terror attack,” the IDF spokesperson added in a statement.
“The assailant accelerated towards a number of IDF soldiers… and hit several other vehicles. No IDF injuries were reported.”
The suspect was taken in for further questioning.
