Politicians Have Amplified And Encouraged Mass Displays Of Antisemitism—And It’s Time For The West To Wake Up

Mike Pompeo

Earlier this week, the world marked the third anniversary of the worst mass murder of the Jewish people since the Holocaust. In a single day on October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists murdered nearly 1,200 innocents, including women and children; tortured, raped, and injured thousands more; and took more than 250 hostages – many of whom did not survive captivity.

It was a solemn day of remembrance – yet astoundingly, vigils for the victims were met with flagrantly antisemitic protests around the world, including in New York City. The mayor of New York and his counterpart in London both marked the anniversary with statements that, after a throat-clearing mention of the October 7 attacks themselves, were devoted to defaming the Israeli government rather than honoring the victims of the pogrom. It’s just too much to ask for the people of Israel and the global Jewish diaspora to be granted even a day to mourn their dead; instead, their pain is weaponized to punish the Jewish people for daring to defend themselves.

The extent to which apologia for terrorism has entered the mainstream is one of the most disturbing developments in recent years. One would have thought that the events of October 7 would have shocked the global conscience; that the faces of the murdered Bibas children would be forever burned into our collective psyche; that it would be eminently clear to any rational person that the perpetrators of such crimes are the enemies not just of Israel, but of civilization itself.

Instead, millions have decided that it is Israel that is the malefactor, and Hamas terrorists are the heroes. Politicians have amplified and encouraged mass displays of antisemitism that have inevitably resulted in a rising tide of violence against Jews. And jihadist terrorists are availing themselves of a powerful new recruiting tool to plan attacks on Jewish and non-Jewish targets alike. (Look no further than the recent terrorist plots against the Mall of America, a synagogue in Manchester, England, and the near-catastrophic FlyDubai airline attack).

According to this year’s Global Terrorism Index, while global terrorism has declined overall, Western countries have experienced a surge of incidents since October 7. Preexisting trends like online radicalization and recruitment of unassimilated immigrant communities have proven to be fertile ground for the radicalizing antisemitic bloodlust unleashed on that dreadful day.

Never forget: It’s not just Israel or the Jewish people that these extremists hate. Radical Islamists hate Western civilization itself and are committed to its destruction. The Leftists with whom they make common cause are not far behind them in their loathing of the West, and the policies they have pursued have fanned the flames of extremism – whether by design or out of sheer naivete. You can draw a straight line between the Islamist riots in France today and the uncontrolled immigration and failed policies the Left has pursued for decades across Europe – policies that the DSA would dearly like to replicate in America.

If the DSA ever gains real political power in this country, the hard-won gains we’ve made in preventing and fighting terrorism since 9/11 could evaporate. Open borders would give terrorists and Islamist extremists free rein to enter the country and expand their movement from within. A supine foreign policy that appeases bad actors instead of confronting them would encourage terrorism to flourish. Think about it: If these people had had their way, America would have abandoned Israel after it suffered the worst mass murder of the Jewish people since the Holocaust, and instead rewarded the terrorists with statehood.

Winston Churchill said, “Civilisation will not last, freedom will not survive, peace will not be kept, unless a very large majority of mankind unite together to defend them and show themselves possessed of a constabulary power before which barbaric and atavistic forces will stand in awe.” October 7 remains a test for the civilized world. We cannot afford to fail.

Chris Katulka, Vice President of North American Ministries for the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, emphasized that “the way nations treat Israel and the Jewish people is not merely a political issue—it is a spiritual one,” writing:

Today, antisemitism has shifted yet again. It is morphing into what can be called national antisemitism, where Jews are hated not because of their religion or ethnicity but because of the State of Israel.

Jewish entrepreneurs are being targeted because Israel exists. Jewish students are harassed on college campuses because Israel exists. Synagogues are attacked because there is an Israel. Even Jewish individuals walking down the street have been assaulted for no other reason than the existence of the State of Israel.

The prophet Joel provided a sobering vision of the end-times, when God will judge the nations based on their treatment of the Jewish people and the land of Israel: “I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land” (Joel 3:2).

This prophetic warning underscores a profound truth: Anti-Zionism is antisemitism. God will hold nations accountable for how they regard the land of Israel and the Jewish people. Why? Because both are His inheritance—sacred, set apart, and covenanted to Him.

Israel is not merely a geographic location; it is central to God’s redemptive plan. Likewise, the Jewish people are not merely a nation; they are a people chosen by God and bound to Him through an everlasting covenant. To disregard or oppose Israel and the Jewish people is to disregard what God has declared holy.

Joel’s vision is a reminder that the way nations treat Israel and the Jewish people is not merely a political issue—it is a spiritual one. It reflects their alignment with or opposition to God’s eternal purposes. In the end, as Joel prophesied, God’s justice will prevail.

Anti-Zionism goes far beyond political critique. It is the belief that a Jewish Israel should not exist. It denies the Jewish people their right to self-determination, a right afforded to every other nation. By targeting the State of Israel’s legitimacy, anti-Zionism perpetuates the same age-old hatred that has sought to marginalize and erase the Jewish people throughout history.

Mr. Vice President: Socialism Was Never About ‘Prioritizing Workers’… It Was About Using Them As Cannon Fodder To Seize Power

Socialism — let’s be clear — was never really about prioritizing workers. It was merely about appealing to them in order to use them as cannon fodder to seize power, whether through violence or at the ballot box. Socialism is about taking from those who have worked, saved, and invested wisely, in order to give a portion to those whom socialists believe might become their voters. It’s about demonizing the ordinary man who is more concerned with providing for his family, saving, and raising them according to his principles — while exalting those who place the “cause” above all else. Socialism is about lying, killing, imprisoning, plundering, and exiling entire populations — if necessary — to maintain control. Those are the true fruits of a socialist system.

An Astonishing Biblical Passage: The Day The Graves Opened Was A Preview Of Things To Come

As Jesus hung on the cross, a lot of supernatural phenomena took place, including a mighty earthquake, the sun going dark at 12:00 noon, and the curtain in the Temple being ripped from top to bottom. But one of the most amazing things of all happened when people came out of their graves! It’s only mentioned in one Gospel. What is this all about? It is a preview of things to come.

In A Culture Of Trendy Lies, It Is Time To Speak Up More Clearly In Support Of Israel And The Jewish People

We must remember our friends and our allies around the world—particularly Israel and the Jewish people, the one distinct ethnic group of people about which God tells us in His Word to bless and to support. In Genesis 12:3, what did God say to Abraham? “I will bless those who bless you.” Yet many people these days, including a lot of Christians, think that it is trendy, intellectual-sounding, or will garner clicks to oppose things all related to the Jews. Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world. 2025 was designated by the Anti-Defamation League as the deadliest year of anti-Semitism. Three months after October 7th in 2023, anti-Semitism had risen 360%.
