An underground German parking garage unveiled “diversity” spaces reserved for migrants and LGBTQ drivers, according to media reports.
Hanauer Parkhaus GmbH built three spots in the structure in Hanau, just outside of Frankfurt, the Daily Mail reported.
Thomas Morlock, chairman of the HPG supervisory board HPG and a city official, said the goal of the parking spaces is to help those who feel a need for “a special need for protection.”
The wall facing the spaces are painted with rainbow colors with Vielfalt Parkplätze”, or diversity spaces.
In recent years, Germany has become a top destination for migrants fleeing persecution and poverty in Africa and other parts of the world.
Morlock said the spaces were built to be a “conspicuously colourful symbol” for “diversity and tolerance,” according to the news outlet. He said they are not necessarily meant to be used by a “separate group of people.”
Hanau, a melting pot, was the site of a February 2020 shooting spree where nine people – who had ethnic roots – were killed. The gunman, a German man in his 40s, was found dead from a gunshot along with his mother.

Though Thomas Morlock, who is chairman of the supervisory board of HPG and a city councilor, expected high praise for the “diversity spaces,” the response has instead been criticism.
“It seems like it just makes them “targets” for hate crime,” one Twitter user wrote. “Is that the goal, so they can scream hate crime? Someone who parks in one of these spots is not looking for protection, they are looking to be a ‘target'”
“Liberals are never-ending in the pursuit of inventing new forms of discrimination,” another frustrated user stated.
“Well, it looks like Germany has set a new bar in the world pandering Olympics,” another quipped.
Many have also stated on social media that such segregated parking does the opposite of promoting inclusion/tolerance and questioned how the city would possibly “verify” that those using the parking are LGBT or migrants. Others pointing to the crime rates and problems in the city criticized where the government is placing their attention.
Ken Ham explained in response to this news via Twitter, when society celebrates homosexuality and suppresses Christian voices which lovingly declare a need of a savior and repentance, they are placing those who are lost in such sin in far greater danger of going to Hell.
“God will also provide a separate place for certain people: ‘Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.’ (1 Corinthians 6:9–10)”
Furthermore, countries across Europe, specifically Germany, saw major crime-related problems arise from Muslim migrants/refugees they allowed into the country in recent years. It was found that European women in multiple countries began wearing headscarves to avoid being harassed or assaulted.
In 2018, Angela Merkel admitted that there were several “no-go zones” across Germany due to the vast number of Muslim refugees from Syria that entered the country in 2015. “No-go zones” are areas heavily populated by the migrants that do not allow outsiders in, including police and authorities.
A shooting in the city of Hanau Germany in 2020 specifically targeted migrants and Jews, resulting in the death of 11 people – including the perpetrator. However, the multitude of criminal actions and violent attacks that resulted from those who arrived in Germany from Syria in 2015, show that the claims migrants have need for “special protection” is unfounded.
