Franklin Graham in a video posted to Facebook thanked the president for his historic attendance at the march for life and discussed the significance of Trump using his voice to reach both Americans and those around the world to call for the protection of innocent life:
Mr. President, I just want to say thank you for coming down to address the March for Life. That is huge. You are the only President to ever do that. I am down here with so many others marching just to let my voice be heard. Your voice is so loud. Not only is it heard throughout the country but around the world. Thank you for taking that stand for life. It is so meaningful to each and every one of us. Thank you. God Bless you, Melania, Barren and all the family.
What an incredible crowd in Washington, D.C., for the March for Life. Tens and tens of thousands of people—all there to stand for life,” Franklin Graham said on Facebook. “This is such an important issue for our nation. Since Roe v. Wade in 1973, over 61 million babies have been killed by abortion in our nation. That’s shameful. I pray that the American people and our politicians will wake up to what abortion really is and put an end to it.”
Thousands of people attended the March for Life as they celebrate their 47th annual event. President Trump became the first sitting President also to attend the event in Washington D.C.
“It is my profound honour to be the first President in History to attend the March for Life,” Trump said in his address. “We are here for a very simple reason, to defend the life of every child born and unborn to fulfill their God-given potential.”
“From the first day in office, I have taken historic action to protect America’s families, to protect the unborn,” the President explained. “I notified congress that I would veto any legislation that weakens pro-life policies or that encourages the destruction of human life. At the United Nations, I made clear that global bureaucrats have no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that protect innocent life. Unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the white house. And as the Bible tells us, each person is wonderfully made.”
