Franklin Graham Responds as NY public school rejects student Christian club, OKs LGBT Pride Club;

SOURCE: (Franklin Graham – Via Facebook)

Franklin Graham took to Facebook today to comment, as a public school in New York, rejects a request for a Christian Club but, approves a request for LGBT Pride Club. As Rev Graham points out, this censorship of Christians and the double standard in favour of LGBT issues seems to be a trend:

High school freshman Daniela Barca wanted to start a Christian club at her schoolโ€”she called it the โ€œOMG! Christian club.โ€ But the school denied her request and told her it was too โ€œexclusive,” that they couldnโ€™t support or promote a Christian Club.

But, guess what? They approved an LGBT Pride Club. It sure seems like the only group discriminated against these days are Christians! Daniela wanted to do food drives, clothing drives,ย Operation Christmas Childย shoeboxes, and help other good causes through the club. She met with the school principal three times, but to no avail.

Nowย First Libertyย is helping Daniela, and we pray this will be resolved quickly so she can start her club!

The Bible says, โ€œLet your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heavenโ€ (Matthew 5:16). Great job Danielaโ€”this is a fantastic idea and God can use it in a big way!

New York public school rejects student Christian club, OKs LGBT Pride Club

A New York school district violated federal law when it rejected a Christian student’s request to start an on-campus Christian club, according to a nonprofit legal group representing the student.

The First Liberty Institute sent a letter to Wappingers Central School District on Wednesday demanding that it approve freshman Daniela Barcaโ€™s application to form the โ€œOMG! Christian Clubโ€ at Roy C. Ketcham High School.

The aim of the club, according to First Liberty Institute, is to offer โ€œfaith-based supportโ€ during biweekly student-initiated meetings where students have โ€œdiscussions about living for God in a godless society.โ€

First Liberty Institute has accused school officials of stonewalling and slow walking approval of Barcaโ€™s proposal.

Ultimately, the student’s request was denied on grounds that a Christian club was too โ€œexclusiveโ€ and that a public school could not support a religious club.ย

โ€œ[T]he discrimination toward Danielaโ€™s religious speech has prevented OMG from pursuing their community-wide goals of โ€˜food drives, clothing drives, Operation Christmas Childโ€™ and other charitable endeavors,โ€ the letter from First Liberty Institute counsel Keisha Russell states.

โ€œKetcham school officials blatantly ignored the plain text of the Equal Access Act of 1984 by rejecting Danielaโ€™s Christian club because of its religious speech. The act has been unequivocal on this point for 35 years.โ€

The EAA states that it is unlawful for public secondary schools that receive federal assistance and have limited open forums to โ€œdeny equal access or fair opportunityโ€ to students who wish to conduct a meeting within the open forum on the basis of โ€œreligious, political, philosophical, or other content of the speech at such meetings.โ€

According to Russellโ€™s letter, Barca contacted the schoolโ€™s assistant principal on Sept. 5. She was told that the application submitted by her sponsoring teacher was lost. However, the teacher who agreed to sponsor the club told Barca on Sept. 10 that the form had been located.

Barca had three different meetings with Principal David Seipp, the letter states. Seipp reportedly informed Barca that he was denying the formation of the club on grounds that the school could not promote the club.

After Barca continued to press Seipp about the club, she was told that her club couldnโ€™t be recognized because it would be โ€œseen as exclusive.โ€

Barcaโ€™s father, William Barca, appealed the refusal to Assistant Superintendent for Compliance and Information Systems, Daren Lolkema, telling him in an email that his daughter wanted to start a club for her and other Christians to support each other in their beliefs.ย

However, Lolkema informedย William Barca that the school district could not support a religious club that is not โ€œcompletely unbiased to any and all religions.โ€ย

Ketcham High School recognizes over 20 student clubs, including the LGBT rights student group called Pride Club.

Russell asserted in her letter that the school officialsโ€™ actions are in clear violation of federal law.

“This matter is not one for reasonable dispute: Wappingers Central School District officials have repeatedly broken long-standing, clearly established federal law,โ€ she wrote.

โ€œ[T]here is reason to believe this violation is systematic, leading to years of disregard for the Equal Access Act. Once a public school such as Ketcham High School creates a limited open forum for student clubs, it cannot deny equal access to student groups on the basis of the religious content or viewpoint of the studentsโ€™ speech. Yet, it has explicitly done so.โ€

Russell also argues that by singling out religious clubs and โ€œproviding them inferior access to school resources,โ€ the district has shown a โ€œhostility to religion that violates the First Amendmentโ€ of the U.S. Constitution.

Russellโ€™s noted that other school districts that have committed similar violations of the EAA were defeated in federal court.

As a result, First Liberty Institute demanded that Barcaโ€™s club be allowed to begin meeting no later than Jan. 2, 2020.

District Superintendent Jose Carrion issued a statement to The Washington Free Beacon on Wednesday saying that the โ€œdistrict recognizes the rights of student-initiated, noncurricular groups to organize and meet in accordance with the Equal Access Act.โ€

“We fully anticipate that this matter will be resolved as per the Equal Access Act,โ€ Carrion said.

The Destructive Nature Of The Goddess Movement

Although we see different names and different locations, in essence they all originated in mankindโ€™s desire to worship a goddess figure. Although there have also been false male gods worshipped throughout the millennia, it is interesting to see mankind continually stumble into the worship of a feminine divine figure. Why is that so?

Are We Listening?: Rightly Dividing God’s Prophetic Word

At the heart of the disagreement between the various eschatological viewpoints lies the Millennium. We have addressed the theological variance in those perspectives many times, but suffice it to say that anyone who simply opens the Book and reads Godโ€™s prophetic revelations will tend to come to a Pre-Tribulation, Pre-Millennial understanding.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese Has Been Failing Australiaโ€™s Jewish Community For 25 Years

The Australian Jewish News reported that Mr Albanese had also been at a Canberra rally in 2000, referring to him as a โ€œpro-Palestinian Labor MP.โ€ Sadly, as it is now, so it was then. Synagogues were vandalised in both Sydney and Canberra (the locations of the two rallies), and Jewish families were advised to avoid public displays of faith. ย  Where did Australia go wrong? In part, 25 years ago. Anthony Albanese failed Australiaโ€™s Jewish community in 2000, and he failed them again in 2025. By Godโ€™s mercy, may this be the last of his failures.
