Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, announced that well-known transgender “Caitlyn” (Bruce) Jenner has signed a contract to become a contributor to the news organization.
The announcement came on March 31st, a date which, likely by no coincidence, fell on the so-called “International Transgender Day of Visibility.”
In a statement, Scott heaped Jenner with praise for his “illustrious career,” calling him an “inspiration,” “trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community,” and “tremendous asset for our audience.”
Although some view the hiring of Jenner as a good move for the company, its conservative audience, and more specifically, its Christian audience, should resoundingly denounce this decision.
One crucial issue surrounds the problem of Gender pronouns. The Fox News CEO and the article announcing Jenner’s hiring appeared to have no problem referring to him by female pronouns and the name “Caitlyn.”
Whether they like to admit it or not, Fox News is capitulating to a lie, a lie that has profoundly damaged our society and the minds of young people.
The ramifications of encouraging this gender fallacy have been well documented and, in the case of children, have been found by multiple States to constitute child abuse. Having reported on these studies and State decisions, Fox News is certainly not ignorant of this fact.
The now popular falsehood that a person can change their gender is not only contradictory to science, it is a sinful rejection of God’s design. Jesus, quoting Genesis 1:27, rebuked the Pharisees, saying, “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female” (Matthew 19:4).
As Christian writer Samuel Sey recently underscored, Christians must understand that many conservatives have become part of the problem.
“Most ‘conservatives’ today are heading toward the same direction as liberals and leftists—they’re simply progressing at a slower speed,” he insisted. “Christless conservatives hate leftism, not sin. We Christians shouldn’t forget that.”
“Don’t be surprised when most conservatives support gender theory, transgenderism, and public schools indoctrinating children with LGBTQ ideology… Many ‘conservatives’ are more interested in being on ‘the right side of history’ than being right with God,” Sey lamented. “Until that changes, Christless conservatives will always be part of the problem, not the solution.”
Last week, Franklin Graham took to social media to discuss the agenda driving gender ideology.
“Those pushing this agenda want everyone to ignore science, biology, and fact—and most importantly, to ignore the truth of God’s Word,” he wrote. “Men and women are made differently—That’s a Fact. They have different chromosomal makeup—That’s a Fact. God, our Creator, designed it that way—That’s a Fact.”
“The Bible warns us about denying the truth of His Word and the order of His Creation. ‘And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done (Romans 1:28),” Graham continued. “With all the deceit and confusion swirling around us, we need to pray more than ever for those lost in darkness to be brought to the light.”
