Canada Announces Pride Month Isn’t Enough, Will Now Celebrate ‘Pride Season’ From June To September

Canada has announced the launch of its “Pride Season,” which will run from June to September to celebrate “LGBTQ2+” people.

The month of June, which has been established as “Pride Month,” marks the beginning of Canada’s Pride Season, and will feature a series of events and parades for the “LGBTQ2+” community. Major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary are expected to host the events, according to Mister B&B, an LGBTQ social networking website.

“Free to be me,” a government organization that purportedly combats issues surrounding the “LGBTQ2+” community, announced that one month is not enough to celebrate pride in a June 2 tweet.

The Canadian government plans to mark the beginning of “Pride Season” with an annual flag-raising event hosted by the Department of Canadian Heritage in mid-June, the Canadian Department of National Defense announced. The department invited its citizens to submit a video wishing the nation a “Happy Pride Season.”

“Lets show our pride colours and celebrate LGBTQ2+ diversity, inclusion, and pride in the federal public service across the country,” the department stated.

The Toronto Gay Pride, which runs from June 18-27, will reportedly feature a parade and 70 individual events. Due to the coronavirus, Vancouver will host its own virtual events, including a “Queer History Panel” and performances by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, according to Mister B&B.

Canada has launched an effort to make the country more inclusive of the LGBTQ community, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau forming an LGBTQ trade commission in 2018.

Ken Ham, in a recent article, “Pride: The Sin at the Root of Pride Month,” wrote:

This is just one example of the frenzied celebration of all manner of sexual perversions as individuals, corporations, organizations, and, sadly, even some “Christian” groups trip over themselves trying to be the most enthusiastic in their LGBTQ activism. But what are they really celebrating?

Obviously, on the surface, they are celebrating sexuality identities and sexual diversity—really, what the Bible calls lust and perversion of God’s original design. But that’s not ultimately what those waving rainbow flags in a Pride parade are really celebrating. Their celebration is reveling in the sin at the root of sexual perversions and a myriad of other sins—pride!

Pride is the quintessential human sin—we think we can be our own gods (Genesis 3:5) and do whatever is right in our own eyes (Judges 21:25). It doesn’t matter what our Creator—who designed us, knows what’s best for us, loves us, and died for us—says. To the proud heart, what matters is simply what we want—what sinful, fallible human beings who don’t know everything, are in rebellion against God, and have depraved minds and desires— want. Pride always leads to more sin as we arrogantly think more of ourselves and less of God and his revealed Word. It’s really people shaking their fist at God to declare they are autonomous and can do whatever they want. But . . .

The Bible spills much ink warning against pride. Our culture, and those “Christians” who want to join in celebrating sin, would do well to heed the warnings in the Word of God. (See: Proverbs 16:18, James 4:6, Proverbs 16:5, Proverbs 8:13, Obadiah 1:3, Isaiah 2:11, 1 Corinthians 13:4)

According to James 4:6God is actively opposing those proudly waving colorful banners and chanting “love is love.” That should strike fear in the hearts of those who have not repented and trusted in Christ, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).

But James 4:6 continues, “[God] gives grace to the humble.” There’s grace, freely available, for all who will humble themselves, turn from their sin, and trust in Christ alone for salvation. You see, Jesus died in our place, taking God’s just wrath against sin for us, and freely offers forgiveness and eternal life to proud sinners of all kinds: “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

In Romans chapter one, Paul warns against the sin of homosexuality and, more specifically, the celebration of it as a rebellion against God.

It is this reprobate mind that our society has fallen into, not in the celebration of sins alone (such as homosexuality, abortion, etc.) but also the attempt to force everyone, no matter their convictions, to celebrate and/or participate in such sins.

The Bible tells us that the world in the last days would be like it was in “the days of Lot” (Luke 17:28). In Lot’s day, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, chiefly for the sexual immorality and homosexuality that the cities were given over to (Genesis 19Jude 1:7).

These ways of thinking have infected American adults, but not just Americans. It is global. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 describes it as a phenomenon of “the last days,” explicitly attributing childlike behavior and attitudes to adults. Society is geared to childish thinking. Sanctity Of Human Life Is Something That The Church Desperatly Needs To Understand

God’s Word isn’t silent or ambiguous on this issue. It speaks with one voice and speaks clearly and loudly: Human life is of immeasurable value. This is highlighted with an exclamation point at the cross when Jesus gave his life for us. Abortion, discarding embryos, and euthanasia say, “You will die for me” or “I will choose when and how I die.” The gospel says, “The Creator of the universe and the Lord of all creation left glory to come to this earth, lived a perfect life, and died in your place that you might be saved from slavery to sin and live with God forever.”

In An Ever Darkening World, We Can Find Solace In Bible Prophecy

The bright side of the growing evil in the world is that it is a sure sign that we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. If you will check Genesis 6, you will find that Noah’s society was characterized by violence and immorality. This is the reason that the great pastor, Adrian Rogers (1931-2005), once said, “The world is growing gloriously dark.” How can the acceleration of evil be considered “glorious”? Because it is a sign of the imminent return of Jesus.
