Advanced Centrifuges Put to Work at Fordo Nuclear Site in Iran During Vienna Talks

The United Nations nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), revealed this week that the Islamic Republic has engaged in another violation of the nuclear deal in its decision to enrich uranium at the Fordo nuclear plant.

While nuclear discussions concerning Tehran’s return to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), or Iran nuclear deal, resumed this week in Vienna, the IAEA revealed that the Iranian regime has begun enriching uranium at one of its plants via advanced centrifuges. The decision to do so is another violation of the terms of the 2015 deal.

The site of interest where Iran is using advanced centrifuges is the Fordo nuclear plant, which is located south of Tehran. As it stands, Iran is enriching uranium at 20% at this location, which is another breach of the deal, as it requires enrichment levels of no more than 3.67%.

In a report by the IAEA, the organization said, “The Agency has decided and Iran has agreed to increase the frequency of verification activities at FFEP and will continue consultations with Iran on practical arrangements to facilitate implementation of these activities.”

As Tehran’s aggression continues to grow in the region, multiple countries have already hinted at a military response targeting Iran’s nuclear program if talks fail in Vienna.

Earlier this week, Behold Israel reported that the IDF is continuing to “enhance military readiness should nuclear talks in Vienna fall through.”

The IDF is continuing to increase its military readiness amid growing Iranian aggression in the region, especially north of the Jewish State’s border. However, adding to the mix, is the nuclear discussion that resumed this week in Vienna, which is expected to fail in the end. In addition to Israel, other countries have been preparing for a potential military response should the talks fail, including the United States.

Any military response would certainly target Tehran’s nuclear program.

According to at least one source, a senior official for the Iranian Army, prior to the nuclear talks being resumed, stated, “The destruction of the occupation regime in Jerusalem is the greatest goal before us and the greatest goal we are striving for. We will not back down from this ideal by one millimeter, even if we are torn to pieces; If we say that the false Zionist regime must disappear and it will surely disappear, God willing, the Islamic world will celebrate this day.”

In addition to the IDF deploying advanced equipment in northern Israel in recent weeks, the military said that it plans to budget for a significant increase in military drills heading into 2022, largely involving reserve units. Furthermore, Israel’s recent and upcoming drills have and will include not only the US, but other countries in the Gulf region.

Amir Tsarfati, Founder and President of Behold Israel, via Telegram discussed the scenarios of a possible military confrontation between Israel and Iran.

“Israel has two options: One, hit the Iranian nuclear program. Two, contain the Iranian nuclear program,” Tsarfati explained. “In the case that Israel chooses to attack Iran: Iran will attack Israel from its territory with long-range missiles (such as Sajil, Shihab 3, Kadar), Iran will attack from the Iraqi border with Syria and from Syria itself with medium-range missiles (like, Fatah, Shihab 1 and 2, Zalzal), and/or Iran will attack from Lebanon and Gaza by Hezbollah Hamas and Islamic Jihad.”

“According to these estimates, there will not only be a war of these missiles, but also a ground battle against 100,000 fighters (as Nasrallah recently declared) and another 100,000 Iranian proxy fighters that are in Syria,” he stated. “The new dimension added recently is naval combat. Iran holds long-range sea to sea missiles at a naval facility north of the port of Latakia, Syria. Naval rockets are also not excluded from the shores of Lebanon.”

“Despite all of the above, the sources estimate that the US will not initiate an attack on Iran, and the ball will return to Israel’s court. In return Iran will not be satisfied with attacking Israel only but American facilities in the Persian Gulf will be attacked as well,” he said. “As great as the Israeli attack is, so will the Iranian response.”

“To the question of whether Israel has the ability to destroy its nuclear facilities in Iran? The answer is, yes unequivocally, Israel has the capabilities that enable it to do so,” Tsarfati underscored.
