Al-Quds Day Rallies Demonize Israel & Western Civilization — It’s Time To Get Them Off Our Streets

Robert Gottselig

(Toronto, Canada) — Last week, B’nai Brith, a Jewish human rights organization, called out the shameful and hateful Al-Quds Day rallies taking place in Canada and around the world. These rallies are nothing more than a time to demonize Western civilization, the Jewish state of Israel, and the Jewish people.

Al-Quds Day was started by the Iranian Ayatollah in 1979 in order to radicalize his followers, and here we are in 2024 with these rallies taking place in our country. B’nai Brith insists it’s time to end these hatefests and take back our streets—and I agree. Just last week, these hateful rallies took place in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and, of course, Toronto.

At these rallies, we again saw the hateful demonic call for Israel to be wiped off the face of the map with the mantra “From The River To The Sea, Palestine Will Be Free”—that means no Israel.

Ontario’s Premier, Doug Ford, promised to put an end to these rallies in 2018, writing on Twitter, “Our government will take action to ensure that events like Al-Quds Day, which calls for the killing of an entire civilian population in Israel, are no longer part of the landscape in Ontario.”

Well, sad to say, Premier Doug Ford has done nothing to combat that, nor all the other pro-Palestinian rallies that have taken place in Ontario. Neither has Toronto’s Mayor Olivia Chow. Instead, last November, she called for a “ceasefire” in the Israel-Hamas war, and she continues to appease the Palestinian community.

On March 27th, while hosting an iftar dinner ( a fast-breaking evening meal for Muslims during Ramadan) in City Hall’s chamber and wearing a hijab for respect to her invited Muslim guests, a Palestinian sympathizer began to loudly talk over Mayor Chow, disrespecting her in order to take a moment to demonize Israel:

I have something very important to say because there can be no iftar with politicians complicit in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Mayor Olivia Chow, you represent the interests of the people of Toronto. It is your duty to advocate for the demands of Palestinian-Canadians and their allies to our provincial and our federal leaders.

Since the genocide in Gaza began, Olivia, you have perpetuated harmful— and I just want to say, [muffled speech] calling for a ceasefire, it’s not enough. We call our Mayor Olivia Chow to be an advocate for a two-way arms embargo on Israel [Applause]… how many Palestinians have to die before you are willing to call it what it is, which is genocide? We call on the city of Toronto to boycott Israel and all commercial and business Partnerships with Israel. No more investing in Israel.

Shameful! Did you know that since October 7th, there have been approximately 500 Pro-Palestinian rallies in Toronto against Israel and the Jewish people? According to the CBC, policing these rallies has cost the taxpayers a whopping $12 million in police wages—and a lot of it in overtime wages. Think about that: Taxpayers funding policing to allow anti-Israel hatefests to continue on our streets.

That’s not the Canada I grew up in, and that’s not the Canada I want for my children and grandchildren.

So, what can we do about it? Well, we need to get involved. Write a letter to your city councilors, mayors, and premiers. If you don’t know what to write, go to B’nai Brith; they did all the hard work for you. They’ve written a letter; simply print it off, fill in who you are addressing it to, mail it, and pray that our elected officials will finally end these hateful demonstrations taking place in our country. This is not the Canada that any of us want to live in.

I also want to assure you that while we are living in troubling times, God is still on the throne. One day, when Messiah Jesus returns at His second coming, He’s going to fix the mess that this world is in. Israel is no longer going to be the tail but instead will become the head, and we are going to see in the millennial Kingdom the preeminence shift from the Gentiles to the Jewish people.

I think of what God says in Isaiah 49:15-16, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget,” then God says this about His chosen people, the Jewish people, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.”

Then God says in Isaiah 49:22-23, “Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, And set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, And your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; Kings shall be your foster fathers, And their queens your nursing mothers; They [speaking of the Gentiles] shall bow down to you  [speaking of Israel] with their faces to the earth, And lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord, For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.”

Well, friends, that’s what’s coming one day to the Nation of Israel. It brings me great hope that God will not allow the things that are happening in our world today to continue forever.

In the meantime, let’s get involved. Let’s stand with Israel and the Jewish people. Let’s talk to our elected officials and reach out to them, expressing that this is not the country we grew up in, nor do we want it to remain this way. Let’s continue to stand for the things that God loves—and God loves his chosen people.

Where The Church Stands On Israel And Its Future Is Much More Than A Simple Theological Disagreement

What we believe about Israel and its future is of utmost importance. No church is neutral on the matter of Israel’s place in Bible prophecy. Many pastors say that such matters pertaining to the end times are of lesser significance than other more weighty matters of the faith. In my experience, however, they are the most aggressive in promoting the church as the new Israel and the least tolerant of those who disagree with them on this topic. Even so, some might ask, “What’s the big deal?”

Unadulterated Antisemitism: Zohran Mamdani And The Heightened Danger Jewish New Yorkers Face

From lox and bagels to Broadway to the sitcom Seinfeld, the Jewish people and New York City go hand in hand. The nation’s most populous metropolis is home to the largest Jewish population outside Israel: 1.4 million. But since the November 2025 election of the city’s new anti-Zionist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, many Jewish New Yorkers are wondering if “home” will have to be someplace else. New York City long stood as a goldene medina—a golden land—where God's chosen people could live freely, something rare anywhere else until Israel’s rebirth in 1948. Now, with the city led by a mayor hostile to the Jewish people and their ancestral homeland, recent events portend a troubling future for New York’s Jewish community.
