Why Would a Christian Church Ignore the Bible?

People in every nation—totalitarian, democratic, or somewhere in between—must decide about what they will do about Christ. In the United States, we can see clear evidence of a growing intolerance toward Christians and Christian values. It is no longer as accepted to profess Christ as it once was in America. Many are willing to give up some of the teachings of the Bible in order to harmonize Christianity with other religions (belief systems). But the Bible commands that we must each take up our cross daily. Compromising and conforming to the world’s standard is against God’s Word.

The early Christians in Asia lived in a world (not unlike our own) where their belief in Christ often left them at odds with the political powers, the economic realities, and the social norms. They were surrounded by idol worship. The day-to-day choices were difficult and demanding. Would they stand firm, or would they give up under the pressure and the pain of following Jesus?

Christians today are faced with the same dilemmas, but we have Scripture available to us in print—even in handheld devices—to help us through. The Bible tells us to worship God only—not to be trapped by materialism, selfish pleasures, and the dishonest practices of this present age.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). Christians are called to be Christ’s light in the world. Christians are called to be examples of what Jesus taught when He lived among us. So we are to “follow in His steps” (1 Peter 2:21).

A Declaration For The Defenseless: Life Is The Condition Of Every Other Right

“The Declaration of Independence gives us three examples of ‘unalienable’ rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Life is the first of those rights because it is the condition of the others. It is thus the most foundational of all rights.” Those words come from the opening paragraph of a “Declaration for Life: A Statement from Christian Leaders,” spearheaded by Missouri Senator Josh Hawley (R). I joined Senator Hawley in releasing the declaration this week after a prayer breakfast with Missouri pastors who traveled to Washington for the occasion.

From Yom Kippur to October 7: When Israel’s Holy Days Become Opportunities For Her Enemies To Strike

As Jewish people around the world are in the midst of observing their High Holy Days, they do so this year with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. While these holidays hold great spiritual significance to so many, the Jewish people remember that these days can be mixed with tragedy. These feasts were intended to be holy times of celebration. Even today, they point back to ancient biblical traditions while also foreshadowing major events in the prophetic future. Sadly, however, in at least two major cases, they have become reminders of the most unholy ambitions of Israel’s enemies.

Boldly Reaching The ‘Hopeless Generation’: Charlie Kirk’s Legacy—One Year After His Death

Two months after Charlie was murdered, we went to the very campus where it happened—Utah Valley University—and held a Harvest Crusade. We saw many people—college students—give their lives to Jesus Christ. I believe this is a watershed moment—a turning point, especially for the younger generation. Young people, this is your moment. It’s time to stop trying to fit in and be cool. Instead, be bold and courageous. In fact, that may be the coolest thing you can do. Charlie was bold about his faith to the very end, and so should we be.
