Damascus Calls On UN To Condemn Israeli Strike; Gantz Vows To Thwart Transfer Of Iranian Weapons

Damascus has called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the General Assembly to condemn “the attacks of the Israeli occupation on Syrian sovereignty,” said the country’s official news agency.

In a letter sent to UN Secretary General António Guterres, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates alleged that Israel targeted “some points in the central region” at 8:23 PM on Friday.

The attack on the Masyaf area in Syria’s Hama countryside killed five and injured seven including a child, claimed state media, citing a military statement.

Missiles fired over the Mediterranean Sea from the direction of the west Banyas sparked fires in nearby forested areas and left some material damage, the military statement added.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry called for the UN Secretary General and the UNSC to issue a “clear condemnation” of the strikes and to demand that “the Israeli aggressor abide by the relevant Security Council resolutions and the provisions of the Separation of Forces Agreement signed in Geneva on May 31, 1974.”

“The Syrian Arab Republic hopes the United Nations General Secretariat and the Security Council to adopt a clear position on the Israeli attacks on Syrian sovereignty away from politicized considerations and calculations that contradict the well-established and clear legal and political position of the United Nations and its bodies toward the issue of the [so-called] Israeli occupation of the Occupied Syrian Arab territories,” said the statement.

Two anti-government sources and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the strikes targeted weapons depots belonging to forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is combatting insurgents in the Civil War that erupted in 2011.

While Syrian state TV did not specify whether the area hit was a military zone, the Britain-based SOHR [stated that] the airstrikes severely damaged Syrian Armed Forces (SAF) army bases.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit declined to either confirm or deny involvement in the morning’s reported strike.

For the past several years, Israel has allegedly mounted hundreds of attacks on Iranian-linked targets in Syria, where Islamic Republic-backed forces and proxy terror groups, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, have become entrenched in deployments aimed at attacking Israel in addition to assisting Assad battle anti-government fighters.

While the Jewish State rarely confirms such missions, the country’s political and defense leaders have repeatedly stated that Iran’s presence just over the northern frontier will not be tolerated.

According to a tally by the SOHR, so far this year, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has launched 12 attacks, destroyed 33 targets, and killed 28 Syrian and foreign soldiers.

Following the Israeli strike, Defense minister Benny Gantz vowed that Israel will continue to thwart Iran’s attempts to transfer weapons into boardering Syria.

“The State of Israel will continue to act against any enemy that threatens it and prevent the transfer of advanced capabilities from Iran that endanger the citizens of Israel and harm the stability of the entire region,” Gantz said Monday.

Iran has increasingly been advancing their efforts by way of Syria, using the war-torn country to house weaponry to attack the Jewish State, which has resulted in multiple Israeli strikes.

In Isaiah 17, we are told that in the last days, Damascus, the capital city of Syria, will be completely destroyed. Although we are not told how this will happen or by whom, Syria has become a hotbed of activity in the Middle East that those familiar with Bible Prophecy have been watching very closely.

As Behold Israel previously explained, “Biblically speaking, a day is coming where the city of Damascus is going to be decimated. The prophet Isaiah stated, “The burden against Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.” (Isaiah 17:1) As Iranian aggression continues to excel as they’re hellbent on the destruction of the Jewish state, which in return causes Israel to focus their military power on the city of Damascus, we can see the fulfillment of this prophecy more immanent than ever before.”

Damascus’s destruction could also be a catalyst to the Ezekiel 38-39 war in-which Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others come together from the north, with weaponry supplied by Russia, to attack the Jewish state.

‘No Israel’ Without Trump?: Mr. President, God Isn’t Looking For A Partner To Share His Glory

“Tell you what, if there wasn't me, there would be no Israel right now”… Those were the words of President Trump in an interview on Wednesday. Very respectfully, I want to say to the President of the United States: Mr. Trump, you're wrong. Trump has been the best friend that Israel has ever had in the White House—and I say that with no asterisk. But Israel doesn't exist because of any man.

Shifting Public Opinion: The Appeal Of Pride Month Appears To Be Fading

For years, June brought a predictable wave of corporate logos, advertising campaigns, themed merchandise, and public celebrations. Parents learned to pay closer attention to commercials in family programming, sports fans grew accustomed to Pride-themed uniforms and promotions, and many city streets became venues for often indecent displays at Pride parades. This year is noticeably different. The symbols are not gone, but they are far less prominent. It’s premature to say Pride has fallen, but it is fair to say the appeal of Pride Month has faded.

Jan Markell: Is Israel’s Spiritual Blindness A Reason For Christians To Reject Them?

Ezekiel 36 emphasizes that when the Jews return to the land, they will do so in unbelief. There will be spiritual regeneration much later! The dry bones of Ezekiel 37 reflect a lack of breath or spiritual life. God states he is gathering them back “not for your sake but for my holy name’s sake,” because their presence among the nations caused his name to be profaned. Ezekiel 36 promises that once back in the land, God will cleanse them, give them a new spirit, and cause them to walk in his statutes. But much later.
