Flash flooding has killed at least two people, inundated homes and businesses, and turned farmland into lakes. Torrential downpours last week dumped about two feet of rain on southwest Texas just a year after catastrophic flooding killed over 130 people a couple of hours north.
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying to Uvalde and Kerrville where hundreds of homes were damaged and many residents were forced to evacuate.
“As families return home, they will face not only the mud and debris left behind by the flooding, but also the heartbreak of everything they have lost,” said Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT Global. “As communities begin the overwhelming task of rebuilding, our chaplains will walk alongside them, offering a listening ear, prayer, and the lasting hope that comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Pray for these residents as they face numerous challenges in the wake of this crisis. Ask God to strengthen those who are hurting and to provide His comfort and peace in the days ahead—and lift up first responders and our chaplains as they serve.
