In case you needed another reminder of the evil that the United States and Israel are up against, an IRGC terror organization official just announced that the regime has officially lowered its minimum recruitment age to twelve.
Are you wincing? The regime that Barack Obama and Joe Biden capitulated to, sending pallets of cash in the middle of the night and unfreezing billions in sanctions, is arming sixth graders.
Boys who should be kicking a soccer ball and running around a school playground are instead playing with weapons like RPG launchers. They have been sent to stand in the dark at checkpoints in the middle of the night in a war that they did not choose. Iran International reported that residents of Tehran are watching these teenagers in plain clothes stop cars and carry out actions of a military force.
Since the currency in Iran is useless, these child recruits and their families were apparently paid with bags of food.
What does it say about the state of the Iranian regime? Does that strike you as a regime that is strong? Or is it the opposite? Is this a regime that’s in collapse?
In late February, Tucker Carlson again raised eyebrows during an interview with US Amb. Mike Huckabee. Instead of condemning child-recruiting terrorists, Tucker chose to villainize those fighting Iran’s proxies:
Mike Huckabee: I’m glad Muhammad Sinwar was killed. I’m glad that some of those warriors, the people who masterminded and carried out the atrocities of October 7thโ
Tucker Carlson: 14-year-old Hamas operatives… how do you feel about their deaths?
Mike Huckabee: If they participated in that, then God help them.
Tucker Carlson: What does that mean, โGod help themโ? Are you happyโ
Mike Huckabee: No. I’m telling you that when someone commits the acts of atrocity, and then they hold hostages… If these were your children being held hostage in Gaza, what would you do to get them out?
Tucker Carlson: I wouldn’t want to kill 14-year-olds, I’ll tell you that.
Obviously, no one wants to kill 14-year-olds! This is a brilliant straw man argument from Tucker. The mission of the IDF has never been to target childrenโand he knows it.
Huckabee is highlighting an important reality: Israel isn’t fighting a moral enemy. Iran and its terror proxies camouflage themselves among civilians. It hides weapons in mosques, schools, hospitals, UNRWA facilities, and children’s bedrooms. It recruits children to fight.
We have to strip down Tucker’s question to its core. Do you believe that young people have agency? What does that mean? Agency to choose. This is a fair philosophical question. But the answer isn’t anything that Huckabee or I can tell you. The answer is the Iranian regime. They answered the question themselves when they lowered the recruitment age to twelve.
