USA Today has been getting roasted on social media for attempting to destigmatize pedophilia, portraying it as an orientation that may even be forged in the womb.
Written by Alia Dastagir, the article laments that pedophilia stands among “the most misunderstood” of sexual orientations, with people often making it synonymous with child abuse. Dastagir writes:
When most of the public thinks of pedophilia, they assume it’s synonymous with child sexual abuse, a pervasive social problem that has exploded to crisis levels online. Researchers who study pedophilia say the term describes an attraction, not an action, and using it interchangeably with ‘abuse” fuels misperceptions.
The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders has described pedophilia as being marked by “recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children.”
Some scientists have even put forward the idea that pedophilia may originate in the womb, meaning pedophiles have no control over their attraction.
“The evidence suggests it is inborn. It’s neurological,” said clinical psychologist James Cantor. “Pedophilia is the attraction to children, regardless of whether the (person) ever … harms.”
Michael Seto, forensic research director at the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group in Canada, likewise said that pedophilia “is not something that people choose.”
The article quoted no psychologist or forensic researcher with a different viewpoint on pedophilia – those who might rather characterize it as a severe mental disorder rather than a sexual orientation. It only gives a passing mention that the well-being and protection of children should be society’s top priority when it comes to handling such disorders. Instead, the article keeps asserting the need for treatment, allowing pedophiles to live openly without fear of social ostracization, not accounting for the risks involved.
The New York Times, Vice, Salon, and many other outlets have also attempted to destigmatize pedophilia in one way or another.

Ken Ham, Founder and CEO of Answers in Genesis, responded to this report stating that, like many other sins, attempts to normalize pedophilia have emerged as a result of God’s standards of morality being rejected by society.
“When God’s Word is no longer the absolute authority in determining morality, & fallible man determines right & wrong, then moral relativism will permeate the culture–with an increasing antagonism to those who build their thinking on the absolute authority of the Word of God,” he wrote. “At AiG we’ve said for a long time that once the door is open to redefine marriage and gender etc., we will see moves to attempt to normalize pedophilia.”
“We have seen an increasing number of articles on this topic obviously getting people used to talking about it in attempts to begin to justify such immoral (from a God’s Word perspective) behavior,” Ham explained. “As God stated after the Flood, ‘…for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth…’ (Genesis 8:21)”
Stand Up For The Truth host David Fiorazo, recently penned an in-depth article, titled, “Next Stage of Rebellion: Normalizing Pedophilia,” in which he wrote:
America had been prepped decades ago for post-modernism and a new era of sexual behavior and expression. People began accepting immoral ideas and lifestyles that used to be called “sins.” Though this rebellion and sexual perversion were not new historically, they had to be accepted and normalized.
The increase of adultery and abortion came first, which helped set the stage for pornography, homosexuality, transgenderism, Drag Queen Story Hours, and of course, pedophilia. The progression has been clear:
Reject Jesus and truth, indoctrinate kids, promote promiscuity, win over the culture, normalize perversion; no more shame, celebrate pride!
Pedophilia is simply the next logical step for some, in the regression of God-ordained, natural marriage and sexual intimacy. In fact, a new word was created to dilute the depravity of pedophilia. Ready? It is called, “pedosexual.”
It is worth noting here the whitewashing of influential individuals in our past who have been detrimental to morality in our great country. Around the same time Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was promoting birth control, racism, feminism, and sexual promiscuity, and John Dewey was planning to dumb down the education of children, evil was about to kick into hyper drive.
Warped sexologist, Alfred Kinsey, a bisexual pedophile is celebrated by academia, Hollywood, and the Democrat media in America. The left has done a good job burying the truth about Kinsey and his associates, who performed their “research” on prison inmates, prostitutes, and very young children. Kinsey was guilty not only of scientific fraud but of serious crimes.
Some refer to Kinsey as the Father of the “Sexual Revolution” in America, while others refer to him as the most influential bisexual and child molester in this nation’s history. One goal of Kinsey’s research was to prove that humans are sexual beings, and the earlier in life we start to experience sexual pleasure, the better.
Anything goes – with one exception – in our ABC culture: Anything but Christ and the biblical worldview.
I would speculate that we cannot reverse this locomotive of immorality.
As for those on the left who say they just want to “live and let live,” we are no longer naive enough to think it stops there. Those who have created gods in their own image don’t want any other God, authority, or moral standard.
