The Profound Consequences Of Nations Interfering With God’s Covenant Land

Robert Gottselig

(Regina, Canada) — This past Monday, dozens of nations—with the notable absence of Israel and the United States—attended a conference at the United Nations with the goal of working to divide the Jewish State through a “two-state solution.”

The Jerusalem Post reported: “The 193-member UN General Assembly decided in September last year that such a conference would be held in 2025. Hosted by France and Saudi Arabia, the conference was postponed in June after Israel attacked Iran. The conference aims to lay out the parameters for a roadmap to a Palestinian state, while ensuring Israel’s security. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told newspaper La Tribune Dimanche in an interview published on Sunday that he will also use the conference this week to push other countries to join France in recognizing a Palestinian state. France intends to recognize a Palestinian state in September at the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.

France is on a direct collision course with the God of this universe—the God of Israel!

Similarly, Canada is moving in the same direction under the leadership of Mark Carney, who has once again reaffirmed his party’s commitment to this disastrous path forward. The Canadian Prime Minister stated: “Canada supports a two-state solution which guarantees peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians. Canada will work intensively in all fora to further that end, including through the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the UN High-Level Conference on a Two-State Solution in New York next week.”

The event that he was referencing took place last Monday, and the Canadian Foreign Minister reiterated Carney’s disgraceful position.

Excellencies, delegates, distinguished guests, I would like to begin by thanking France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for bringing us together at this critical moment. Painful realities that continue to tear at the fabric of the region. Escalating violence, devastating civilian casualties. Hostages still in captivity. A deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Relentless settlement expansion in the West Bank, and the continued threat of terrorism. All of this making the prospects for peace feel more distant.

Canada believes a two-state solution remains the only viable path to lasting peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. At the plenary session this afternoon, I will have more to say about Canada’s position. We are here today because this moment demands political courage and resolve. And we must stand together and choose a different path, one that leads toward a sustainable and a just solution. And political agreements alone are not enough. We must also address the narratives shaping identity, perception, and legitimacy as these lie at the heart of the conflict. As G7 President, Canada is engaging closely with regional partners, and the message is clear: The region must be defined by peace, by stability, and by dignity for all.

Guided by this understanding, Canada, alongside Qatar and Mexico, is co-leading this narrative for Peace Working Group aimed at building an inclusive framework grounded in dignity and coexistence. Peace is not only about borders and agreements. It is also about shared stories and understanding that humanize all sides and foster trust. Canada is committed to initiatives that amplify voices of peace, promote understanding, and reject division. We support local mediation and peace building efforts, empower youth and women leaders, and champion press freedom and inclusive dialogue.

“Peace, peace, peace!” Every single one of these world leaders calling on Israel to make peace with the Palestinians needs to do their homework. How in the world can you make peace with people who wish you dead? How can you make peace with people who teach their children to hate Israel and kill Jewish people? The truth is… You don’t!

Israel has bent over backwards, with many attempts to offer land for peace. Those kinds of “solutions” never work.

The Gaza Strip was handed over lock, stock, and barrel to the Palestinians in 2005. The results of that test run were disastrous. The people of the Gaza Strip elected Hamas to rule over them, a terrorist organization hellbent on destroying Israel. In fact, according to a multitude of surveys, the majority of the Palestinians still support what Hamas did on October 7th, 2023.

The enemies of Israel do not want “two states” but one state with no Israel. Period. That is the meaning of the mantra, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” No Israel from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea means no Israel at all.

The countries, Canada included, calling for a two-state solution, have no idea what they’re talking about—and they certainly have little to no compassion for Israel and the Jewish people.

The irrational calls for a two-state solution provide us with a glimpse of who the Matthew 25 “goat” nations may be. The prophecy detailed by Jesus speaks of the time during the end of the tribulation when Israel’s Messiah returns and separates “the sheep from the goats.” That distinction is based on what they did or didn’t do to the least of these, the Jewish people, Jesus’ brothers (Matthew 25:31-46).

In Joel 3:1-2, God says, “For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”

God is clear: judgment is coming one day.

When Israel’s enemies of the past conquered the land, they took it for themselves. It is only in our day that Israel’s enemies sit before a drafting table, dividing up the land “for peace.”

The first partition for a two-state solution was from the British Peel Commission back in 1937. The Jewish people said, “We’ll take it.” The Arab world said, “No.” The next occurred in 1947. The Jewish people said, “We’ll take it.” The Arab world said, “No.” In 2000, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) under Yasser Arafat was offered the farm by then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. He said, “No.” In 2008, Yasser Arafat’s successor, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, was also offered the farm by then Israeli Prime Minister Ahood Omare. The Palestinians said, “No, no, no, no!”

It is Israel that has bent over backwards to try to make peace.

Joel chapter 3:1-2 is a very strong warning—and the message is clear: God takes the dividing of his covenant land as a deeply personal offense. This is not just geography; it is God’s land where He has placed His name forever. He has given it as an everlasting possession to the physical descendants of Israel. Any attempt to alter, divide, or negotiate ownership of this land stands in direct opposition to God’s declared will.

In Leviticus 25:23, the Lord declares: “The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.” This Scripture underscores a profound truth. The land of Israel belongs ultimately and eternally to God.

Woe to those who want to divide the land. As we read in Joel 3 and Matthew 25, they are going to face severe judgment for doing so. These shameful actions are not going to bring blessings to your country (Genesis 12:3).

As a Christian and a Canadian, I can tell you that we need to be in prayer for Canada. If Canada is going to side with the Palestinians, rewarding their terror with a state, that is not going to bring blessing to the country—nor will it bring blessing to any other country that’s doing the same. It is going to bring the opposite, and Canadians are going to be caught in the crosshairs of these destructive decisions.

We need to urgently and fervently do as the psalmist writes in Psalm 122:6. I am imploring you today, friends, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Ultimately, when we’re praying for the peace of Jerusalem, we are praying for the Prince of Peace, Israel’s Messiah, Yeshua, to return. That is the only way that there is ever going to be lasting peace.

We are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. When we align our thinking with God’s thinking, that is how we bring peace and prosperity to our countries. The world is going in an opposite direction, and that is going to bring destruction.

In Scripture, we read about this unfolding during the “time of Jacob’s trouble”—the tribulation period. It may start off in “peace,” but it will end in disaster. Ultimately, God will gather the nations and enter into judgment on account of his people, Israel, whom the nations have scattered and divided.

The Board Of Peace: Could Israel Be Walking Into Another Kind Of Hostage Crisis?

The prophet Zechariah warned of a day when the nations will gather against Jerusalem, and the Lord Himself will intervene (Zech. 14:1–4). Although we are not prophets and must be careful with our interpretations, it’s hard to ignore this prophetic imagery when so many nations are now poised to weigh in on a sliver of land located a mere 50 miles from Jerusalem. Israel has received its final hostage from Gaza. May it not walk into another hostage crisis.

The Spread Of The Gospel During The World’s Darkest Hour

For those who hold a Biblical worldview, it is obvious that mankind’s darkest hour will soon fall upon the world. I speak, of course, of the Tribulation Period. Although God’s undiluted wrath will be poured out upon the earth, what we also bear witness to in the Scriptures is the fact that He will also shine His glorious light on the world as His message of the impending Millennial Kingdom is shared to all people.

Behind The Headlines, The Gospel Is Spreading Into Every Corner Of The Earth With Its Message Of Triumph

As you know, the leaders of Iran adhere to an apocalyptic form of Islam, and they’re doing everything possible to discourage this revival. Anyone suspected of being a Christian is arrested or oppressed. But do you know what’s happening? Plans are unfolding for Billy Graham to preach in Iran! Yes, Dr. Graham’s sermons are being dubbed into Farsi and broadcast into the country. It’s believed his sermons will reach over twenty million Iranians in the safety of their own homes.
