The CDC Tracked The Phones Of Millions To Monitor COVID Lockdown Compliance, Church Gatherings: FOI Reveals

Documents from the CDC obtained through a Freedom Of Information Act revealed that the public health agency purchased data from SafeGraph to track the phones of tens of millions of Americans in 2020-2021.

According to the documents, the tracking was conducted to monitor compliance with COVID lockdowns, quarantines, curfews, and locate virus’ hotspots.’

“The CDC seems to have purposefully created an open-ended list of use cases, which included monitoring curfews, neighbor-to-neighbor visits, visits to churches, schools and pharmacies, and also a variety of analysis with this data,” cybersecurity researcher Zach Edwards said in an interview with Motherboard.

Although the data from SafeGraph was supposedly aggregated anonymously, Edwards warned that “the SafeGraph data is way beyond any safe thresholds [around anonymity].”

SafeGraph recently admitted, in response to complaints, that “concerns about identifying individuals and subsequent loss of privacy are valid,” the Daily Citizen reported.

In the name of fighting COVID-19, the company initially, in April of 2020, began offering this data for free to “nonprofit organizations and government agencies at the local, state, and federal level.”

Later that year, the CDC began purchasing the data from SafeGraph, before the free offer of data was set to expire on March 31st, 2021.

“CDC has interest in continued access to this mobility data as the country opens back up. This data is used by several teams/groups in the response and have been resulting in deeper insights into the pandemic as it pertains to human behavior,” the document reads.

In an article published on the Daily Citizen, Bruce Hausknecht, an attorney and judicial analyst, described the CDC’s actions as contradictory to the intentions of America’s founding principles.

“Our Founders were profoundly protective of personal liberty and distrustful of government, so much so that they created a constitutional system that intentionally limits government’s reach into our personal lives,” Hausknecht explained. “However, today’s ability to capture information on our whereabouts from the cell phones we all carry around in our pockets, in the hands of unaccountable government agencies, raises deeply concerning privacy questions.”

The CDC documents included listing the potential to use the data from SafeGraph to track gatherings in “places of worship,” such as churches. There was a concerted effort from the beginning of the coronavirus lockdowns to label churches as non-essential and wholly limit the ability of Christians to gather together, even as other restrictions began to be lifted.

During that time, pastors were faced with the decision to comply with the government or follow the Biblical command to “not forsak[e] the assembling of ourselves together… and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25).

It is troubling, to say the least, that the government sought to document and track who was defying their order not to attend church.

According to Christian persecution watchdog OpenDoors, China has also been using its surveillance technology to track Christian attendance in churches.

Furthermore, Communist China began mandating houses of worship install surveillance technology in their buildings.

“Cameras with facial recognition software are now in all state-approved religious venues. Churches that have refused to install these cameras have been fined, raided, and even banned,” OpenDoors reported. “The facial recognition software will eventually be linked to China’s ‘Social Credit System,’ which monitors the loyalty of citizens with regards to the tenets of communism.”

Under the Trump administration, in July of 2020, the US Senate condemned this as “digital authoritarianism” in China. However, under the Biden administration, the government in the United States appears to be following the CCP’s lead.

These developments, Christian radio host Jan Markell insists, are a major harbinger of future events described in Biblical prophecy.

Revelation 13 outlines the coming one-world government which the Antichrist will lead,” Markell described.

“The globalists convinced the world in the last 20 months that it is worth giving up many freedoms in the name of health safety. During the Tribulation, the ‘left behind’ world will have to give up everything. Tremendous conditioning has gone on since March of 2020,” the Understanding The Times radio host explained.

“Our own FBI encouraged people to turn in loved ones who might have been violating health safety. Such betrayal is ‘Tribulationesque’ in itself,” she asserted. “The level to which the world has cooperated has been staggering. Many have not submitted but far too many have.”

“While some would say that is only medical tyranny, they will open the door for total tyranny,” Markell underscored. “We don’t know how much the Church will see of this, though we are spared from God’s wrath (Revelation 3:10).”

Antisemtism And Vitriol For Israel: One Of The Most Distinguishing Signs Of Our Time

The steadily intensifying antisemitism of our day points to the reality of the rapidly approaching Tribulation period. It’s one of the more distinguishing signs of our time because it aligns with so many prophecies that predict hatred for Israel and the Jews during the last days. In Zechariah 8:13, the Lord foretold what we see today along with His promise to dramatically reverse the fortunes of the Jewish people: "And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong.”

Called Out From The Culture: The Hope for America Is The Church

I believe that the hope for America is the church—God working through his church. Christians need to live up to their name. As Christ followers, we need to be Christlike. And if the church would be what it was meant to be, then it would change our nation. But let’s localize it. If your church would be what it ought to be, it could change your city. It could change your county, and it could change your state. Let’s localize it even more. If you would be what you ought to be as a follower of Jesus Christ and as a part of the church, then what a difference it could make in your church.

Will America Last Another 250 Years?

Looking back, there can be no denying that God has indeed shed His grace—His unmerited favor—on our land, from sea to shining sea. But does our national “soul” encourage self-control? Do our laws champion ordered liberty? Is our success tempered with nobleness? Is brotherhood the defining characteristic of any good we aspire to reflect? By all of those measures, America seems decidedly adrift. We are drifting farther and farther from Nature’s God—the Ruler of the Universe our Founders called upon and credited with for our celebrated independence.
