Russia Deploys Three Nuclear-Capable Bombers to Syria

The Russian military said Tuesday it has deployed three nuclear-capable long-range bombers to its base in Syria, a move that could strengthen Moscow’s military foothold in the Mediterranean.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said that three Tu-22M3 bombers have arrived at the Hemeimeem air base, located in Syria’s coastal province of Latakia and the main hub for Moscow’s operations in the country.

The ministry said bomber crews would fly a series of training missions over the Mediterranean. The Tupolev Tu-22M3, code-named Backfire by NATO, is a supersonic twin-engine long-range bomber which is capable of carrying nuclear weapons and has a range exceeding 5,000 km (3,100 miles).

Russia has waged a military campaign in Syria since September 2015, allowing Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government to reclaim control over most of the country following a devastating civil war.

The Russian ministry said the runway at Hemeimeem had been extended to host the heavy bombers and a second runway has been modernized.

Russia also has expanded and modified a naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus, the only such facility that Russia currently has outside the former Soviet Union.

As part of President Vladimir Putin’s efforts to beef up Russia’s military amid tensions with the West, the Russian navy in recent years has revived the Soviet-era practice of constantly rotating its warships in the Mediterranean.

The bombers’ deployment marks the first time since Cold War times that Moscow has stationed heavy bombers in the region.

About 60 Tu-22M3s are estimated to remain in service with the Russian air force, and some have flown bombing missions to strike militants in Syria from their bases in Russia.

Russian media reports said that the Tu-22M3 could be modernized to carry the latest hypersonic missiles.

In Ezekiel 38-39, the Bible speaks of a coming war in which Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others, will attack the Jewish State. The alliance of countries will attempt to invade Israel from the north, which will result in God’s direct intervention.

We are already witnessing this Ezekiel 38 alliance of nations cooperating together like never before, with Russia, Iran, and Turkey all positioning themselves in Syria to the north of the Jewish State.

‘Isaiah 5:20 Hermeneutic’: The Anti-Zionist Message Is Unmistakably Clear

Sadly, anti-Zionist rhetoric does not only come from the pro-Palestinian mob, it also comes from those within the Christian community whose anti-Zionist tendencies have led them to upend established interpretive principles where it concerns the Bible. In other words, they have fundamentally adopted a hermeneutic which I can only bewilderingly describe as “the Isaiah 5:20 hermeneutic.”

Class Is In Session: Since Minnesota’s Attorney General Doesn’t Understand The Law… Let Me Explain It

For those watching the attorney general’s response after protestors barged into a church last Sunday and disrupted a worship service, this probably doesn’t surprise you. In Minnesota, you don’t have to be a lawyer — or even know the law — to be attorney general. Even though he is an attorney, that helps explain how Keith Ellison got the job without a) knowing the law, or b) being able to read it. It is beyond you, Mr. Ellison — so let me help you out. In An Ever Darkening World, We Can Find Solace In Bible Prophecy

The bright side of the growing evil in the world is that it is a sure sign that we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. If you will check Genesis 6, you will find that Noah’s society was characterized by violence and immorality. This is the reason that the great pastor, Adrian Rogers (1931-2005), once said, “The world is growing gloriously dark.” How can the acceleration of evil be considered “glorious”? Because it is a sign of the imminent return of Jesus.
