Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters at a press conference on Monday that the Jewish State is closely monitoring military exercises being conducted by the Iranian regime, underscoring large-scale repercussions for “any action against Israel” taken by Tehran.
“We are following this and doing all the necessary preparations,” Netanyahu stressed. “I want to convey this clearly to Iran: Any action against Israel will be met with a very severe response.”
Netanyahu’s remarks followed statements published by Axios from an unnamed Israeli official, who cautioned that the supposed missile drills could be a guise for a surprise attack on Israel.
“The chances for an Iranian attack are less than 50 percent, but nobody is willing to take the risk and just say it is only an exercise,” the official reportedly said.
Another anonymous “senior Israeli official” spoke to Fox News, stating, “Iran is doing drills. A concern that the drill will become a surprise attack is a real concern based on history. The Yom Kippur War started that way. I remind you, we shouldn’t ignore it.”
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military drills centered around missile exercises, and come at a time when the Islamic regime is rapidly attempting to rebuild its stockpile of ballistic missiles after supplies of the weapons were severely depleted during the 12-Day War and previous Israeli military operations. According to reports, missile launches were seen in Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Khorramabad, and Mahabad.
During the 12 Day War, which took place in June, Tehran launched over 500 missiles toward the Jewish State as the Israeli Air Force (IAF) conducted vast precision strikes over the skies of Iran. The war concluded after the United States joined the fight, using B-2 bombers to launch a devastating attack that incapacitated three Iranian nuclear facilities.
“Egg was on the face of Tehran,” Erick Stakelbeck, host of the Watchman Newscast, said, describing the fallout of the 12 Day War for Iran. “All that bluster and threats for 46 years, and at the end of the day, the Iranian regime proved to be a paper tiger—embarrassingly exposed for all the world to see. The Iranian regime was clearly outmatched in a massive demonstration of Israeli and American military might.”
“You might expect that afterward Iran would keep their mouth shut for a while, be wise, and just lay low—but no,” he highlighted. “Despite the heavy blows over the past two years, none of these anti-semitic and demonically driven bad actors repented. Since the 12 Day War, Iran has become even more arrogant and boastful, levying constant threats against Israel and America.”
“Israel and Iran are heading for another war, very likely in 2026,” Stakelbeck stated on Monday. “As we move into the new year, this chatter is going to intensify about Israel striking Iran once again.”
“I don’t want to see war. Far from it. But I’m a realist,” he continued. “I told you this back in June. Israel told you this back in June. President Trump told you this back in June. If Iran doesn’t get the memo, if it doesn’t change its spots and abandon its ballistic missile program, its nuclear program, then we’re going to have round two. Why? Not because anyone likes or wants war, but because you cannot allow an apocalyptic, radical jihadist regime to have the world’s deadliest weapons. Because guess what? They’ll use them. Their ideology demands it.”
“Evil is relentless until it is utterly crushed. Evil also eventually invites judgment,” Stakelbeck underscored.
Stakelbeck pointed to what he calls the “Genesis 12:3 effect,” referencing a verse in which God promises to “bless those who bless” Israel, and “curse those who curse” them.
“Does history bear out the truth of Genesis 12:3? Absolutely,” Stakelbeck detailed. “Where are Haman, Pharaoh, the Philistines, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Nazis, the Ottomans, the Tzars, the Soviets? All of them cursed Israel and the Jewish people, and all of them wound up in the ash heap of history. God will curse those who curse Israel. Hamas, Iran, and Hezbollah are well on their way into that very ash heap, but Israel, against all odds, not only survives, it thrives. That is pretty clear to me as a Bible believer and as someone who has a grasp of history and geopolitics.”
