This should hands down be the biggest story in America, but the mainstream media refuses to touch it. We are calling it “Somaliagate”—And yes, it’s that big.
If you live in Minnesota, $8 billion in your taxpayer money was stolen from federal programs through a massive web of fraud and schemes—tied primarily to Somali networks. Governor Tim Walz, Representative Ilhan Omar, and others have all been implicated in the fraud, knowing that it was occurring, but doing nothing to stop it.
“Over 480 DHS workers in Minnesota say Governor Walz covered up years of Somali-linked fraud totaling over a billion dollars,” Political advisor Carolyn Phippen detailed. “Whistleblowers say Walz retaliated against them by threatening their jobs. These workers say that they repeatedly warned the Governor about exploding fraud schemes, but were then subject to increased monitoring, intimidation, and retaliation from their own Governor.”
I want to say kudos to citizen journalists who are doing the job of the corrupt, lazy, and sycophantic mainstream media that should be all over this story.
More than 400 Minnesota Department of Human Services employees—people who work in the system—saw the fraud with their own eyes, coming forward to sound the alarm and call the Governor to action. The DHS workers assert that Walz is entirely responsible for this disaster, explaining that they begged him to do something.
What did Walz do? He retaliated by threatening their jobs, monitoring their activities, and allegedly intimidating them. The Governor did everything in his power to silence the whistleblowers who were trying to protect American taxpayer dollars.
Why? Was Walz terrified of the political backlash that would come from the Somali community? Was he more concerned about being called a racist than he was about stopping the theft of billions of American taxpayer dollars? Or—here is the other question that may come to light—maybe he was in on it.
The details of this story paint a very disturbing picture.
It starts with “Feeding Our Future,” a COVID-era child nutrition fraud scheme that claimed to be feeding tens of thousands of hungry children. In reality, they were feeding tens—total.
Fox 9 reported, “In December of 2021, the FBI installed a surveillance camera overlooking this building just off Lake Street in Minneapolis. At the time, it was Safari Restaurant, which overall took in $12 million in federal child meal payments through ‘Feeding Our Future.’ Safari’s former co-owner, Salim Said, is on trial alongside Amy Bach, the ‘Feeding Our Future’ executive director. Safari claimed to feed 4,000 to 6,000 kids a day. Its invoices and meal counts were shown to the jury alongside the video. An FBI agent testified that an average of 40 people came and went during the six weeks it was surveilled.”
Did you catch that? Forty kids total over six weeks, not thousands per day. You don’t have to be a mathematician. That is not a mistake or incompetence—that’s organized crime.
Where did all the money go? Allegedly, into the pockets of fraudsters. According to federal law enforcement sources, some of those American taxpayer funds are being sent to Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda linked Somali terror network that has killed Americans. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the Treasury is going to investigate how much of those Minnesota dollars were funneled to terrorists. House Oversight Chairman James Comer further announced that they will be launching a full investigation into Walz and his handling of all this.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, sitting across from President Trump, looked him straight in the eye during a cabinet meeting and said: “Look into Minnesota and their fraud on visas and their programs. 50% of them are fraudulent, which means that wacko Governor Walz either is an idiot or he did it on purpose. And I think he’s both, sir. He brought people in there illegally that never should have been in this country.”
This was not negligence. This was willful blindness. Governor Walz created a socialist welfare state where fraud wasn’t just tolerated, it was enabled. And when brave employees tried to blow the whistle, he crushed them.
Then there is Ilhan Omar. The whole fraud scheme was happening inside her circle. Omar personally promoted the Safari restaurant in 2020 while it was running the now infamous ‘Feeding Our Future’ scam. Oh, by the way, the owners of that restaurant donated to Ilhan Omar’s campaign, and it is also where she held her 2018 campaign victory party.
Fox News’ Harris Faulkner reported: “Investigators are tracking the web of fraud to other Minnesota Democrats, such as Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Many of the suspects linked to the scheme live in her district, including a restaurant owner who hosted events for her. He has since been convicted of stealing $12 million in COVID funds.”
Are you furious? If you’re not furious enough about this story, let me ask: Why not?
A Somali fraudster who spent 30 years in America as an illegal immigrant after being convicted of asylum and welfare fraud in Canada was recently arrested by ICE. Meanwhile, Omar grinned ear to ear right next to him in photos.
The former Prime Minister of Somalia bragged that Ilhan Omar is in America for the purpose of representing Somalia: “Representative Ilhan Omar, who has written the name of Somalia with a gold pen. The interests of Ilhan are not Ilhan’s. It’s not the interest of Minnesota, nor is it the interest of the American people. The interests of Ilhan are the Somalian people and Somalia. The success of Ilhan is the success of Somalia, and that carries heavy meaning to us.”
Federal prosecutors have charged 87 people—78 of them of Somali descent—in the $250 million “Feeding Our Future” scheme alone. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The fraud wasn’t just “Feeding Our Future.” It was Medicaid housing stabilization services. It was autism programs that turned out to be fraudulent. Families participating reportedly received kickbacks.
It would have been wonderful if we had a functioning media that would dare to ask questions. Instead, just a year ago, PBS ran this story: “In recent years, the prevalence of autism has risen significantly across all populations in the US. Diagnoses are more common among children of color, but one group, Somali Americans, is seeing an alarming increase. ‘Overall rates in our four-year-olds of 1 in 53. And what we were seeing in our Somali four-year-olds were rates of 1 in 16.’ That’s astounding, isn’t it?”
That is astounding! Why is it astounding? Because they’re making it up. It’s fraudulent. The media reported the numbers at face value without asking deeper questions.
Isaiah 29:15 says, “Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness…” God sees, the American people see, and we demand accountability.
