Lithuania Officially Designates Hezbollah as a Terrorist Organization

Iran Terror Proxy, Hezbollah

The European country now recognizes both the military and political wings of Hezbollah as terror entities; Other European countries to make the same designation include England, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Lithuania has now joined England, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States after making the decision to ban Hezbollah, including both the political and military wings. This comes after their decision to recognize the Iran terror proxy for what it is – a terrorist organization. Any of its members are now barred from entering the country.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius told reporters, “Having taken into consideration the information acquired by our institutions and partners, we may conclude that ‘Hezbollah’ uses terrorist means that pose threat to the security of a significant number of countries, including Lithuania.”

In what is not surprising, Israel welcomed the decision. Israeli Foreign Minister praised the decision stating, “I call on all European countries to join the decision and outlaw the terrorist organization.” Undoubtedly, this decision will improve the relationship between the two countries.

Israel deals with threats from Hezbollah on a weekly and even daily basis throughout Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. Currently, the Jewish State is reinforcing its northern border militarily due to growing tensions with Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon.
