Tucker Carlson just told millions of viewers that Israel is plotting to blow up one of Islam’s holiest sites. There’s just one problemโhe doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
“There is this kind of behind-the-scenes push to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, which would require destroying the third holiest place in Islam, the mosque, the Al-Aqsa mosque,” Carlson stated, “I’ve talked to a bunch of people about this who think that it’s imminent… that it’s not crazy to think that that mosque would be blown up.”
No, Tucker, it is crazy. Israel is not plotting to imminently to blow up Al-Aqsaโand saying that they are isn’t just ignorant, it’s fueling anti-Israel hatred.
The first thing that should be pointed out in Tucker Carlson’s video is that he showed an image he claimed was “Al-Aqsa,” but it was actually the Dome of the Rock. They are not the same.
There is a great deal that Tucker “forgot” to say.
For over 2,000 years, the Jewish people have longed to worship on the Temple Mount. It’s the holiest site in Judaismโnot the supposed “third holiest.” It’s where two ancient Jewish temples stood hundreds of years before Islam.
As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said repeatedly, “Israel reaffirms its commitment to upholding, unchanged, the status quo on the Temple Mount in word and in practice. As we have said many times, Israel has no intention to divide the Temple Mount and we completely reject any attempt to suggest otherwise.”
Yes, the Bible does say that a third temple will be built. It’s going to happen in God’s timing. However, it will not be part of an Israeli military campaign or strategy.
After Israel liberated Jerusalem in 1967, Defense Minister Moshe Dayan handed control of the Temple Mount over to the Islamic Waqf. What is that? Jordan. The nation of Jordan is the one that maintains the status quo on the Temple Mount.
Israel has allowed Islamic worship on the Temple Mount while banning Jews from praying there. Think about that! Can you imagine a Jewish temple in the heart of Mecca or Medina in Saudi Arabia?
The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has been planning the construction of the third temple since 1987. The reality is that Temple Institute is more of a fringe movement. Tucker’s insistence that they represent Israel is like saying the Westboro Baptist Church represents all American evangelicals. It’s not true.
In Dearbornne, Michigan, residents hear the Muslim call to prayer blaring on loudspeakers five times a day. Why isn’t Tucker talking about that? Why isn’t he talking about the spread of Islam in America? Why is he so obsessed with Israel?
Accusing Israel of planning to “blow up Al-Aqsa,” while showing the Dome of the Rock, is not reporting. That is not Journalism. That’s inciting violence. And it needs to stop. From basic architectural confusion to ignoring 2,000 years of Jewish history on the Temple Mount, Tucker’s spreading lies that put Jewish lives in danger.
Tucker, you’re painting a target on the back of every Jew.
