The American Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, had strong words for the UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, on Friday after the British leader issued a public condemnation of Israel’s new plan to rid Gaza from the clutches of Hamas.
According to the Jerusalem Post, “Starmer said that the expanded operations ‘will do nothing to bring an end to this conflict,’ adding that it would result in more bloodshed on both sides. He continued to say that what the war needed was ‘a ceasefire, a surge in humanitarian aid, the release of all hostages held by Hamas and a negotiated solution.'”
Huckabee did not allow Starmer’s comment to go unanswered, responding short after: “So Israel is expected to surrender to Hamas and feed them even though Israeli hostages are being starved? Did UK surrender to Nazis and drop food to them? Ever heard of Dresden, PM Starmer? That wasn’t food you dropped. If you had been PM then, the UK would be speaking German!”
The Jerusalem Post reminded readers that the US ambassador “was referencing the US and UK’s bombing of Dresden, during which nearly 7 km of the city was destroyed and at least 25,000 people were killed.” I might add that the Allies saw the Dresden operation as a justified bombing of a strategic target. Dresden was a major rail transport and communication center, housing 110 factories and approximately 50,000 workersโall supporting the German war effort.
The Ambassador further challenged Starmer, saying: “How much food has Starmer and the UK sent to Gaza? The Israeli Prime Minister has already sent 2 MILLION TONS into Gaza, and none of it even getting to hostages. Maybe UK PM ought to sit this one out and follow Arab League, who said Hamas should disarm & release ALL hostages immediately.”
Unfortunately, Canada likewise has aligned itself with the UK and France, with Prime Minister Carney releasing his own shameful statement:
“Canada condemns the Israeli government’s decision to further escalate the conflict in Gaza. This escalation will do nothing to end the humanitarian horror in Gaza or the deepening suffering of both the Israeli hostages and Palestinian civilians.ย Nor will it advance long-term peace and security for the Israeli people. Canada calls for an immediate ceasefire. Hamas must immediately release all hostages taken during the horrific terrorist attack ofย October 7; Hamas must disarm; and we must see a massive and sustained surge in humanitarian aid, at the necessary scale. We continue to work with our international partners on the path to a two-state solution, where an independent, viable, and sovereign Palestinian state lives side by side with the State of Israel in peace and security. We reiterate that Hamas must play no role in the future governance of a demilitarized Palestinian state. Canada will continue to support the Palestinian Authority’s commitment to reform and to strong, democratic governance.”
To ask a nation to make peace with people who wish them dead is living in a fantasy world; there is no other way to accurately view a “two-state solution.” It is irrational to condemn Israel for defending itself against a demonic death cult. By doing so, they are demonstrating zero compassion or understanding of the situation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu knows that more than anyone. This past Sunday, he sought to educate the foreign media and world leaders who are blind to the truth and would rather believe the lies:
Wake up, Canada, Britain, France, and world leaders. Wake up, media. Start reporting honestly and stop lying about Israel as they continue to fight for their very existence. Wake up, world!
What does God have to say about all of this? One chapter comes very clearly into my mind: Isaiah chapter 5. Very simply, it is a warning from God: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight! Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink” (vv. 20-22).
You would think that the world leaders were intoxicated as they were making these ridiculous accusations and condemnations against Israel!
God goes on to say in verse 23, “Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man! Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, So their root will be as rottenness, And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.”
When it comes right down to it, friends, the land of Israel was promised as an everlasting possession, an everlasting covenant, to the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Period. If you are going to reject that, woe unto you, because judgment is coming.
