Green Card Holders Don’t Have A Right To Incite Violence And Celebrate Murder

Daniel Cohen

America’s immigration system is not a suicide pact, and green card holders don’t have a right to incite violence and celebrate murder.

Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia student, openly hates America and has called for the eradication of Western civilization and “death to Israel.”

According to Fox 5, “Khalil had been one of the most prominent faces of last year’s pro-Palestinian demonstrations at Columbia University and acted as a negotiator between school administrators and the protesters.”

While claiming to stand for justice, Khalil, who is Syrian-born, led thousands of protesters in celebration of Hamas and the October 7 terror massacre. During an interview at the University’s pro-Palestinian encampment, which he led in 2024, Khalil demanded that Columbia “listen to their student body who are demanding [they] end their investment in the war that’s happening in Palestine.”

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is defending Khalil, saying this is a freedom of speech issue. Khalil also has the backing of Democrat Senator Chris Murphy, who insisted, “You can disagree with his views or his politics, but there is no evidence he has broken any law.”

The assertion that Khalil has broken no laws is simply not true. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and this administration, under the law, can deport any noncitizen who poses a serious foreign policy risk.

Khalil’s supporters on the left claim that his deportation is a violation of free speech and even point to the pregnancy of his wife as a reason he should be allowed to remain in America. Republican Senator John Kennedy, however, says the law couldn’t be more clear.

“I support freedom of speech,” the Senator underscored. “Mr. Khalil is not an American citizen. He’s here with the green card. By word and indeed at Columbia, he’s shown that he supports Hamas. That’s a violation of the Immigration and Naturalization Act, which says you can be deported if you support a terrorist organization.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson didn’t mince words, telling reporters at a Press Conference on Tuesday, “I’m going to say this clearly: if you are on a student visa, and you’re in America, and you’re an aspiring young terrorist who wants to prey upon your Jewish classmates, you’re going home.”

Khalil’s supporters claim there’s no evidence he directly supported Hamas. What are they waiting to see? A signed check from Hamas with Khalil’s name on it? When you organize demonstrations celebrating murder, that is alignment with terrorism—plain and simple. America is finally reclaiming its sovereignty.

Pastor Jack Hibbs, Founder of the Real Life Network, on an episode of his podcast series entitled “Who Has Freedom Of Speech?” warned that pro-Hamas demonstrators on college campuses have forfeited their protection under the First Amendment.

“Let’s talk about Columbia University,” Hibbs began. “The media calls it pro-Palestinian rallies. Doesn’t that sound sweet? And yet they have Hamas signs.”

“If you’re shouting ‘Allah Akbar,’ ‘death to America,’ and ‘death to Israel’ on a university campus, you do not have a First Amendment right anymore. You have violated it,” Hibbs stressed. “If you’re wearing a keffiyeh head scarf, you are wrapped for war. That’s what it means in the Middle East. You have now just become an enemy combatant.”

“You have no First Amendment right,” he reiterated. “You forfeited it.”

“How do people get away with this? Law enforcement knows this, the judges know this, and attorneys know all this,” he explained, but during the Biden administration, the federal and state governments refused to enforce these laws.

“Jesus said in Matthew 24 that an indicator of the last days would be lawlessness,” he noted. The word used for lawlessness in Matthew 24:12 in Greek is “anomia,” which goes beyond the simple definition of being “without law,” highlighting a state in which laws exist but are flagrantly violated.

“There is a direct correlation between Marxism disrupting the culture and jihad disrupting the culture; they’re exactly the same. Why? Because the same demon authored them both,” Hibbs argued, adding that it is high time for America follow the law and push back against these agendas bent on “destabilizing” the nation.

Can We Still Ask God To Bless America When So Much Of The Culture Is In Open Opposition To Him?

Christians are under the kingship of Jesus first and foremost, but that does not negate the responsibilities of our earthly citizenship. We can make a difference in our own sphere of influence by being faithful where God gives us opportunities, and if every Christian did that, think how any country would change! We can still pray for God to bless America, but we should specifically pray for God to turn Americans’ hearts back to him and to recognize his authority in all the areas where the culture has increasingly rejected him.

Opening The Floodgates To Undermine The Sanctity Of Life: Germany’s Push To Decriminalize Abortion Faces Opposition

Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court officially ruled in 1975—and reaffirmed in 1993—that unborn children have a right to life. But since 2024, a campaign to decriminalize abortion in Germany has demanded the government reclassify the deadly procedure as a standard medical option covered by health insurance. This effort, however, has faced staunch opposition from those committed to protecting the lives of both mothers and their unborn children.

Thomas Jefferson’s ‘Separation Of Church And State’ Never Meant Keeping God Out Of Government

In context, it’s clear this wall of separation was not created to keep religion out of the State. It was simply intended to protect religious freedom and to place boundaries on the State’s control over the Church. In fact, the United States Capitol served as a church building for seven decades and Jefferson himself was a regular attendee. He attended so faithfully that he earned a reserved seat. On the Sunday after he wrote the letter to the Danbury Baptists, he attended church services at the still-under-construction Capitol.
