Colorado Town Mayor Cancels Pledge of Allegiance at Town Hall, Attendees Recite Anyway

The mayor of Silverton, Colorado, issued a statement during a trustee meeting saying that he will discontinue recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the meetings.

His idea was met with resistance and some of the attendees stood up and recited it loudly during the comment section of the meeting. Even though he tried to interrupt them, more voices joined in.

Once their vociferous declamations ended and they sat down, the mayor said that they were “out of order” and that although there is a one-strike policy, he didn’t ask people to leave.

“But if something like that happens again we will,” the mayor said.

There had been similarly worked-up instances in Silverton when a trustee didn’t want to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

In this most recent case, the mayor declared that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance would create problems, including “divisiveness.”

“Due to direct and indirect threats, inappropriate comments in and out of public meetings and general divisiveness and issues created in our community, we will not be reciting the Pledge of Allegiance during Town of Silverton trustee meetings,” Silverton Mayor Shane Fuhrman stated in footage obtained by Fox 31.

Right after he said this, Silverton Trustee Molly Barela directed her words towards Fuhrman: “We already discussed this as a board, and any other unilateral decisions we need to know about?”

“If you’d like to find somewhere in the code, something that doesn’t permit me to do this, then I welcome that discussion at our next meetings,” Fuhrman responded.

Barela then claimed more directly that the decision was made without consulting the board.

“It’s been done for a long time. We all took an oath, and we as a board we decided it would be done,” she said.

Barela told Fox 31 in a comment: “Back in April 2020 when the newest board members were seated the mayor brought it up that he didn’t want to do the Pledge of Allegiance anymore because it’s not really a thing, it was a 4/3 vote that we continue to do it. By going back to in person meetings it changes the dynamic compared to what was happening on zoom.”

“While on zoom the three individuals who chose not to say the Pledge of Allegiance would just turn off their cameras now that we’ve gone back to in person meetings members of the general population especially those who are veterans have been questioning why would you run for office and take an oath to uphold the laws of the United States of America the state of Colorado and the town of Silverton if you won’t stand for the pledge,” she said in a statement in part.

At a board of trustees meeting on Flag Day, Silverton Mayor Shane Fuhrman had the gall to ban the Pledge of Allegiance from public meetings. He said it was because of the “direct threats” and “divisiveness” that it brings to the community. Those in attendance didn’t go along with his idea at all, and when it was time for public comments, they stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance together. When they were finished, Mayor Fuhrman said they were out of order and that they would be asked to leave if they did it again.

I think this mayor is the one who is out of order!

It’s a shame that an elected official would feel this way about the Pledge of Allegiance. It’s important that we take time to recognize and honor our country’s flag—a flag that represents the freedom that so many fought and died for. I’m proud of these citizens and trustees for standing up for that. Silverton may need to re-think who they select for mayor.

In the future, the Bible outlines that a man will come onto the scene, the antichrist, who will establish a world government that is in opposition to God and Christianity.

America and what it stands for (or what it stood for when it was founded) runs in direct opposition to this coming world order. America was founded on Biblical Judeo-Christian values, and it promised freedoms to its citizens. This means that those setting the stage from the approaching antichrist system, knowingly or unknowingly, must remove God, take away basic freedoms, and corrupt the country’s democracy.

It has become trendy to believe America’s founding was evil and that it needs to be torn down and rebuilt (or built back better) upon a Marxist foundation.

David Fiorazo, earlier this year, stated that: “Socialists and globalists have already convinced people that Christianity is intolerant and patriotism is divisive. But we must not allow the left to turn our love for God and respect for our country into something shameful, wrong, or dangerous.”

Terry James in his article, “A Prime Prophetic Indicator,” wrote:

On the one side, there are those of us who want to live under America as founded. The “America as founded” side can but watch while freedoms are attacked and eroded. The other side of the schism, the new normal side, cheers while America is taken farther and farther away from those godly, founding principles.

Black is called white, sweet is called bitter, and good is called evil, while the reprobate thinking increasingly controls and deconstructs constitutional safeguards.

While the efforts to bring America as founded into a configuration conducive to constructing Antichrist’s platform of control, the evidence of swift movement toward the Tribulation era is observable at the national and global levels.

Amir Tsarfati: For Israel To Be Safe, The Cancerous Tumor Of Hamas Has To Be Removed

This has been a very disappointing week as Israel has watched the United States separating itself from us. Through ultimatums, threats to withhold arms, vote abstentions, and condescending rhetoric, the Biden administration has made it clear that it believes that “peace at all costs” between Israel and Hamas is necessary for a November reelection.

A Remnant May Be Cheap And Worthless By The World’s Standards, But Not By God’s

But to God, those He considers “remnants” are assigned a high value indeed, since He sets them aside to undertake His high and holy calling. Likewise, the remnant church may be hated by the world and disliked by Laodicean-era churches, but God has a distinct purpose for them.
