The catastrophic events so far in 2026 point to the start of this time of judgment on the near horizon and, therefore, to Jesus’ soon appearing. If ever there was a time for excitement from the recognition that Jesus’ appearing is ever so close, this is it. Someday, perhaps very soon, our wait will end.

Ask a chatbot about a disputed Bible verse and you may get a tidy answer. Ask America’s pastors about the AI response, and you get a warning: That tidy answer could be a real problem. The Barna Group recently highlighted findings from two surveys, conducted in partnership with Gloo for the State of the Church initiative, that land on a common concern. Artificial intelligence misinterpreting Scripture is a shared worry for 74% of U.S. adults. Among practicing Christians, the figure climbs to 83%, and for pastors, it reaches 94%. Even 77% of non-practicing Christians say they are concerned.

Its creators believed that humans are naturally perfect and that things like greed and selfishness are only caused by a bad economic system. If you just get rid of private property and let the government run things, they argued, everyone will suddenly become selfless and cooperative. The Bible completely destroys this idea. Scripture tells us that our problems don't come from external systems; they come from inside our own hearts. Jeremiah 17:9 says: "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?"

The more these students dig into God’s Word and attempt to apply Scripture to the issues of our day, the more they notice that the two worldviews can’t be reconciled. Well, that’s Biblical! And that’s what I’ve found in my extensive travels when meeting many young people at the various events where I speak. When I travel and speak, I find teenagers are hungry for answers. They want to know how their faith applies to the issues of our day, they want answers for how they can know the Bible is trustworthy, and they want to be equipped to refute today’s secular thinking.

It was from this letter that the words “building a wall of separation between Church & State” were first mentioned. Today, the words “separation between Church & State” have been stripped of all their original meaning. The phrase intended to prevent the government from stifling the church has been warped to insist that the church must be stifled from exerting any influence in government and the direction of political culture.

A few churches in my area openly state on their websites that the subject is “tertiary,” or less important than other matters of our faith. Sadly, most pastors and believers agree that Bible prophecy is tertiary, which Merriam-Webster defines as “of third rank, importance, or value.”

Well, you might end up standing in a church pulpit and telling your congregation that God had a wife and that King Josiah was wrong for destroying the Asherah poles. Yes, this “pastor” really claims the Israelites worshipped Yahweh as God along with Asherah as a female god, and that no one had a problem with it for a very long time. He then bemoans how hard it must have been for the Israelite women and girls when King Josiah ordered the Asherah poles to be chopped down—who would they now look up to and pray to without a “queen of heaven”?

Self-proclaimed "Christians" who are, at best, confused theologically are spreading conspiracies, lies, rumors, and frankly tall tales. The study of “last things” (eschatology) seems to have fallen out of favor in many corners of the modern church. With a dismissive reference to no one knowing the day or hour of Christ’s return, many Christians assume that studying eschatology is not something most churches, or even individual Christians, really need to take seriously. I repeatedly hear students in my classes claim that Scripture is too unclear on the details or timing of the Rapture, or whether Christians will go through the Tribulation, or the nature of the Millennial Kingdom, to make studying these things worth their time. Is studying eschatology largely irrelevant to our walk with God?

Bible prophecy is the one line of evidence God wrote down in advance so anyone could check it. About 28 percent of the Bible was prophecy when it was written, roughly 80 percent of it has already been fulfilled to the exact detail, and the fulfillment rate on everything past is 100 percent. That track record is what makes fulfilled prophecy the most compelling reason to trust that the Bible is from God. Anyone can write a religious book that tells you what to believe. Only One who stands outside of time can tell you what is going to happen a hundred, five hundred, a thousand years from now, and then have it happen exactly the way He said.

The story is so common that it almost seems inevitable: A college or university is founded as an expressly Biblical institution, but at some point it changes. Some might become completely secular; others may introduce liberal theology or progressive social policies. Harvard, Yale and Princeton are well-known examples; in fact, seven of the eight Ivy League schools in the U.S. were founded to train pastors but left behind that mission long ago. In the 1970s, Harold Lindsell sounded an alarm in his book The Battle for the Bible, in which he called out seemingly evangelical institutions that had abandoned the infallibility of Scripture. That abandonment, Lindsell argued, “always and ever opens the door to further departures from the faith.”

While most acknowledge the day and hour is unknowable, is that day and hour before the tribulation, during the tribulation, or at the end of the tribulation?
