Homeschooling parents are simply exercising their parental right, and it is clear the government is losing patience with parents who wish to be the dominant voice in their children’s lives. In short, Mr Hill’s speech demonstrates increasing political anxiety that if children are allowed to grow inside communities that reinforce moral frameworks distinct from government propaganda, the state risks inheriting a society in which people are not sharing the same civic vocabulary. And that is a deeply uncomfortable proposition to this current government.

On 29 July 2026, the church that I pastor played host for the Brisbane leg of a tour of Australia by Amir Tsarfati and Pastor Barry Stagner. On that blessed evening, over 1,000 people gathered together for praise, powerful preaching, prayer, and of course, photos with these two beloved servants of God. Even though we hired a large venue for the evening, seating was limited. This meant that, sadly, many missed out on being able to attend. One such person who was not able to secure tickets remarked that it would be wonderful if this was the dilemma faced by every Bible-believing church in Australia on a Sunday morning. Yet Australia's overall spiritual landscape suggest a disturbing deterioration away from Biblical belief.

Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong cannot claim to oppose antisemitism while simultaneously undermining Israel’s right to self-defense and security. Because if they continue down this pathway, what we have is a ruling Federal Government which has effectively signaled to the Jewish people that their history, their faith, their land, their culture and their future are disposable. And that puts our Australian Government at direct odds with the true and living God who promised Israel a glorious future.

Although the practice of abortion itself is a grievous sin, what is even more heartbreaking is to hear the stories of babies who have survived abortion, only to be left to die. In Australia, there is no single federal law specifically regulating medical care for infants born alive after an abortion. However, despite considerable opposition from politicians and medical bodies, a parliamentary bill will soon be introduced to the House of Representatives which aims to correct this. It is appropriately called the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2026.

Many attempt to mask their antisemitism by claiming that anti-Zionism is merely impassioned criticism of a nation that just happens to be Jewish. By claiming Zionism is a “modern colonial ideology” they attempt to legitimise Palestinian ownership of the land at the expense of Jewish self-determination in the ancestral Jewish homeland. The simple equation in the anti-Zionist mind is that if Zionism is indeed colonial, then the State of Israel is illegitimate. But what most people refuse to accept is that the Jewish people do not just have a legal and historical right to the land, they have a biblical claim to it as their national homeland as well.    

On 17 June 2026, Ahpra released a statement adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. Although it should not be a point of contention for a healthcare regulator to adopt a firm position on antisemitism, the move has sparked furious backlash from doctors, health workers and civil liberties groups who claim that adopting the antisemitism definition limits their ability to criticise Israel. Anti-Zionists often nuance their opposition to Israel by claiming it has nothing to do with antisemitism. But it does. It is simply the modern adaptation of it.

Although prayer has been preserved at a federal level (in both the House of Representatives and the Senate), individual States are facing ongoing petitions from members determined to see Christian prayer eradicated. This has already happened in the Australian Capital Territory (the location of the nation’s capital city, Canberra). In the Legislative Assembly, the rule in effect is: “Members, at the beginning of this sitting of the Assembly, I would ask you to stand in silence and pray or reflect on our responsibilities to the people of the Australian Capital Territory.”  Similar calls are now being made in Australia’s most western State, appropriately called Western Australia.  In the name of inclusivity, they want Christian prayer excluded with one person claiming it was “no longer appropriate.”

To understand the age in which we live, it is important to understand the ideas behind secular progressivism and, more importantly, what its aspirations are. After all, whether the majority of people realise it or not, secular progressivism has the stated goal of organising social life (with or without your consent) toward explicitly chosen goals. Those goals, however, put it in direct conflict with Biblical truth. The major flaw in secular progressivism is its belief that preference trumps truth. Because the maxim of this ideology is that “all preferences are created equal,” any belief which competes with somebody’s “preference” is treated in one of two ways. Either it must be suppressed (usually with the backing of government or media institutions), or it must be branded as a private hobby which is acceptable in the home or inner thought life but not welcome in the public square where others may be influenced by it.

Through the use of targeted examples, overreach and ambiguously drafted legislation and booklets, Victorian faith leaders and parents now find themselves the victims of arbitrary limitations that permit the government a place at the dinner table of families that need to have important discussions regarding sexual orientation and gender identity. A conversation which, if led by the clear teachings of the Bible, will only lead to one conclusion. Although the Victorian Government has attempted to grant clear concessions to parents to raise their children according to Biblical values, the undeniable conclusion is that there are limitations as to what the government will accept.

Earlier this year, Barna Group (in partnership with Gloo) released new research which focused on the trends emerging in the field of faith and AI. That research revealed that nearly one in three U.S. adults – with the figure sitting at two in five among Gen Z and Millennials — say spiritual advice from AI is as trustworthy as advice from a pastor. My concern is that the worrying dependence upon AI for spiritual guidance will lead to people being tossed to and fro as the available data is changed. If you are going to outsource your Biblical worldview to data that is subject to change and manipulation, you are weakening your dependence on the Word of God and increasing your dependence on data which can be faulty.

Legal representatives of the Queensland Government reportedly argued that Beale’s objection to the vaccine mandates was not protected religious activity but “Mr Beale’s subjective interpretation [of] parts of the Bible that he relies upon to support his personal choice to avoid vaccination.” In other statements made by Beale, the government’s position becomes clearer. What they are attempting to argue is that Beale’s objections do not constitute protected religious belief because Beale is relying on a personal Biblical interpretation rather than adhering to a specific church code of conduct.

In the Bible, hope is closely connected to waiting. Not waiting in the sense that we are still uncertain about the outcome, but steadfastly waiting because we fully expect the outcome God promised in His Word. In other words, man’s definition of hope carries doubt. God’s does not. As such, Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we may base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises.

While ever we support the need to address the stain of antisemitism in Australia, the Commission’s goal of determining the necessary recommendations to remove the threat of antisemitism will likely fall short for one very good reason—they will likely ignore God’s Word. A central pillar of Nazi ideology was that Jews were unnatural creatures. Unfortunately, this same ideology has not only carried into the modern age, where it concerns individual Jews, but this is also how many choose to view the creation of the modern State of Israel—as an affront to the natural order.

The Iranian regime is viewing this conflict through their own eschatological lens—one which they truly believe they will be supernaturally rescued from. Islamic hardliners who hold to a view that Donald Trump is Dajjal are concentrated in large numbers in Iran and because of this, they will fiercely resist him, believing that the Mahdi and Isa will eventually sweep in and deal with the US/Israel coalition. If the regime falls, it may go some way to shattering their faith in this false apocalyptic vision. If the regime holds against the might of the US and Israel, unfortunately it will mean the narrative strengthens and the resistance grows.

For those who hold a Biblical worldview, it is obvious that mankind’s darkest hour will soon fall upon the world. I speak, of course, of the Tribulation Period. Although God’s undiluted wrath will be poured out upon the earth, what we also bear witness to in the Scriptures is the fact that He will also shine His glorious light on the world as His message of the impending Millennial Kingdom is shared to all people.

As we are all too familiar with, the politics governing the Temple Mount have prevented Israel’s orthodox community from pursuing concrete plans for the actual construction of a new Temple. While most, including myself, believe there will be a literal third Temple, the proposal for a largely digital Temple which only requires a small building from which to broadcast from adds an interesting dimension to the conversation.

Although the Middle East is currently engulfed in war, the superhighway of Isaiah 19 reminds us that in that future time when Jesus rules and reigns as King from Jerusalem, not only will Jew and Arab peacefully co-exist, but they will also worship the true and living God together. This is a powerful reminder of the sovereign work of God, who alone has the power to transform regions of despair into places of worship, honour, and praise. Although the Western world currently likes to speak about normalisation between Israel and Arab countries in this age, true normalisation will only come when all nations recognise that the God of Israel is the true and living God.

When the Jewish people joyfully acknowledge Jesus as King and He reigns during the Millennial Kingdom, gladness will replace groaning and rejoicing will replace rejection. Enemies will no longer threaten His people, nor will disaster ever strike the nation again. In fact, not only will the remnant rejoice over God but God will rejoice over the remnant.

In the modern day, we don’t often use the word “behold,” but it is a word that is used repeatedly in the Bible. In fact, between Genesis and Revelation, it is used over 1,000 times, and it functions like a literary finger, drawing specific attention to a person, thing, or situation. As we approach the season during which we remember the death, burial, and resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, let us take a moment to reflect on what God would have us behold in the Scriptures as it concerns His plan of redemption for mankind and the future reign of Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Those who hold to a postmillennial view argue that Jesus is exercising His authority as King from heaven right now. The proof text for many postmillennialists is Psalm 110 and they conclude that Psalm 110:1 supports a present Davidic reign of Christ where He is gradually subduing all His enemies during this interadvent period. However, a consistent, literal interpretation of Scripture leads us to reject such a view, particularly when we undertake an examination of the three-fold work of Christ.

These training scenarios continue to feed into the narrative that conservative Christians are an armed, angry, and apocalyptic gang who need to be treated like every other terrorist organisation. The reality is that underpinning the constant assault on Christianity is the fact that globalists seek to advance the narrative that Christianity is intolerant of global ideas because patriotism is divisive.

Although anti-Israel sentiment had been thinly veiled, the ensuing propaganda would tear that veil down entirely. The propaganda was relentless, steeped in long-held themes of Jewish bloodthirstiness, greed, corruption, manipulation and cunning. Though they supported the Partition Plan only a decade prior, the Soviets would now contend that the very existence of a Jewish homeland was not only an imperialistic plot, but a mortal threat to the peace of the world. At this, Zionism was recast as a racist, colonialist ideology which was an instrument of Western imperialism. 

The Sydney protest, held on 9 February 2026, contained the usual elements: antisemitism, Palestinian flags, disgusting signs, mob mentality, and lawless behaviour. The latest jingle was also on display, with one protestor holding up a sign reading: “From the river to the sea, Herzog to the ICC.” The ICC is obviously a reference to the International Criminal Court, with protestors continuing to maintain that Israeli officials should be prosecuted for war crimes. Roundly criticised for her appearance at the protest was the 2021 Australian of the Year, Grace Tame.

Many people who advocate for the acceptance of gender fluidity will point to the historical practices associated with Cybele, Inanna, and others in order to prove it has been a socially acceptable movement for thousands of years. Yet our answer to this issue remains simple and predates all other arguments—God created two genders: male and female (Genesis 1:27). All the modern-day speculation about numerous genders or gender fluidity is foreign to the Bible. What is not foreign to the Bible is the existence of demonic forces, many of whom are the powers behind idols and false gods.

Have you ever been in a hospital as a patient? I am sure that most of you have. When being admitted, you are required to provide important details such as your name and your chosen faith. But what if you were taken to a hospital in a democratic Western country and the hospital administrators decided to give you a different name and redact details of your faith without your consent? Would you be upset? If the answer is no, then picture this: what if you were Jewish and the hospital changed your name and redacted your Jewish identity without your consent? Now, you might be thinking that would never happen in a Western nation in the modern day. Well, it just did. In Australia.
