Fewer than one-fourth of the 36 schools that responded were clearly young-earth creationist, and most of them were quite small seminaries. In their M. Div. programs for future pastors, only two had a required course on Genesis that addressed the creation-evolution issue. Three others had an elective on Genesis, but one of those didn’t address the creation-evolution controversy. Only three had a required course on apologetics, and one of those didn’t address the origins debate. Again, the main problem is that most pastors have never recognized and carefully considered the foundational issues at stake here. Few books provide pastors with clear arguments explaining why compromise on the history of Genesis 1–11 undermines people’s trust in the truth, clarity, and authority of Scripture, and ultimately undermines the foundation of the gospel itself.

These endorsements have encouraged millions of Christians to accept the big bang theory as proven fact and the evolutionist view of 4.6 billion years of earth history. Accepting that evolutionary “history” includes rejecting the global Flood of Noah and accepting millions of years of animal disease, death, and extinction, and other natural evils, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and asteroid impacts. Why are his endorsing evangelical leaders not recognizing this as unbiblical and unscientific nonsense? Because they are wowed by his PhD in astrophysics and they don’t read carefully.

According to the popular science article, “[The cave] was used by Denisovans for more than 100,000 years.” So for 100,000 years, these “early humans” simply lived in a cave, hunting and gathering with simple stone tools. For 100,000 years. They didn’t invent farming; they didn’t significantly increase their technology. They didn’t go and explore and settle new areas. They just lived in this cave, eating the same things and using the same tools, for millennia after millennia after millennia. Have you ever stopped and thought about what a ridiculous claim that is?

In 1925, the state of Tennessee was openly in favor of creation science. The legislature passed the Butler Act, which included the following language: "It shall be unlawful for any teacher in any of the Universities, normals and all other public schools of the State which are supported in whole or in part by the public school funds of the state, to teach any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as taught in the Bible, and to teach instead that man has descended from a lower order of animals." I have a hard time believing that any state in the US ever was so bold in its stance. But Tennessee was. Evolutionists struck back quickly.
