Chad Thomas: The ‘All About Me’ Generation

The Holy Bible tells us precisely what the state of the world will be like during the last days. One of the top Scriptures that I believe reveals we are living in the final moments before the Rapture, and start of the seven-year Tribulation, is recorded in 2 Timothy 3:1-5:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 KJV – “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

I think it’s pretty safe to say everything that is listed above is exactly what’s occurring right before our very eyes more than any other time in history. With the rapid increase in technology and the explosion of social media, our generation has turned into “The All About Me Generation.”

Let’s take a look at just a few of the things listed above, and you tell me if these are not characteristics of the era we live in today.

Lovers of Self – 2 Timothy 3:2

First, I think it is safe to say that men and women are lovers of their own selves. Just go on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.), and you will see how obsessed people are with themselves. Social media has turned into the “selfie” war… it’s all about “me, me, me.”

In fact, just over the last couple of years, there have been many “deaths by selfies.” I have seen several breaking stories of men and women who were so driven to get their “selfie” that they did not realize they were about to fall off a cliff, or a large building!

The bottom line: this generation is, without a doubt, obsessed with their own beauty, money, and success more than any other generation in human history!

Disobedient to Parents – 2 Timothy 3:2

Second, I think it’s safe to say kids and adults are disobedient to their parents. Like many of us, when I was growing up if I back-talked to my parents or someone older than me… I would be punished… Today most kids are raised spoiled. With full access and a heavy influence of social media and the entertainment industry (music, movies, TV, etc.) they are running around with no discipline whatsoever. Many are going as far as using foul language when speaking to adult peers and even their parents! Every place you see children these days, you see disobedience.

I recently witnessed one of my own nieces (who is 11 years old) using every foul word I could think of toward her Mother! My mouth almost dropped, but then I realized 2 Timothy 3:2 Prophesied that this is what it would be like in the last days!

Unthankful and Unholy – 2 Timothy 3:2

Thirdly, I think it’s safe to say that people are unthankful and unholy. We have a God who has given each of us breath in our lungs. The gift of life is something we should be thankful to God for, but that is not what we see in this world.

We, as Christians, are told to store up our treasure in Heaven and not on Earth (Matthew 6:19-21), but in this generation, people could care less about treasures in Heaven! People today, for the most part, care about the here and now, and their earthly possessions, but could care less about where they are going to spend eternity!

Despisers of those that are Good – 2 Timothy 3:3

Fourthly, I think it’s safe to say that people are despisers of those that are good. More than any other generation in human history, people are calling evil good, and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). Topics such as same-sex marriage and abortion are celebrated, as is anything that is an abomination to God (Romans 1:32). Yet, when you try to speak out against it and stand up for the Gospel, you are the one called immoral.

Humanity has turned into a “Let’s just be happy and live the way we want” mentality, but when you bring up the God of the Bible, His commandments and how we are to abhor that which is evil, and cling to that which is good (Romans 12:9), YOU are pronounced evil… Absolutely, people are despisers of those that are good!

I have just reviewed only 4 of the things listed in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. I encourage you to read through the whole section again and see that every single one of the things recorded fits this generation to a tee. And I got news for you… it’s not going to get any better, but Jesus will fix all of this one day very soon.

We are headed full speed toward the seven-year Tribulation period. However, just prior to this, Jesus is going to snatch away (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52) those that are truly His before this train hits.

Whatever time we have left before Jesus Raptures His church, let us not cease to teach and preach Jesus Crucified (1 Corinthians 1:17) and tell people Jesus Is Coming Soon! It is time for them, right here and right now, to repent, believe the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9-10) and be converted to a new life in Jesus Christ today! Because we are not promised tomorrow!

An Old Method Of Anti-Jewish Propaganda: Dismantling The Big Lie Of Israeli ‘Colonization’

This accusation of colonization goes back to the 1960s, when Yasser Arafat was set up in the Middle East region by the former USSR to destabilize that very region. The Merriam-Webster definition for colonization is either A: "The establishing of a colony, subjugation of a people or area especially as an extension of state," or B: Migration to and settlement in an inhabited or uninhabited area." It is interesting to note that both French and British empires have colonized large sections of the planet over time without anyone–except possibly for the people being colonized–blinking an eye. Israel colonizes, and the whole world is up in arms! But is Israel truly colonizing?

Franklin Graham Applauds Trump Administration’s Pressure On China, Securing Release Of Jailed Pastor

In a Facebook post Tuesday, Franklin Graham thanked President Donald Trump for his role in the release of imprisoned Christian pastor Ezra Jin Mingri—founder of an underground church in China—who had been detained for 266 days. Jin, 57, was released and reunited with his wife and daughter in Los Angeles Friday, roughly two months after Trump pressed Chinese President Xi Jinping to free him during a U.S.-China summit in Beijing. Jin was arrested Oct. 11 after Chinese officials raided his home in Beihai, Guangxi Province, the previous evening and conducted an all-night search. He was charged with “illegally using information networks,” according to The New York Times.

Will America Last Another 250 Years?

Looking back, there can be no denying that God has indeed shed His grace—His unmerited favor—on our land, from sea to shining sea. But does our national “soul” encourage self-control? Do our laws champion ordered liberty? Is our success tempered with nobleness? Is brotherhood the defining characteristic of any good we aspire to reflect? By all of those measures, America seems decidedly adrift. We are drifting farther and farther from Nature’s God—the Ruler of the Universe our Founders called upon and credited with for our celebrated independence.
