Chicago Public Schools End Sex-Specific Rest Rooms to Promote ‘Gender Equity’

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) launched a new regulation Wednesday requiring all schools to eliminate rest room designations based on biological science, i.e., male or female, and, instead allow all students to use the bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity.

CPS called the mandate, which will affect both students and staff, a “big step forward for gender equity.”

“All CPS students and staff will have fair and equitable access to bathroom facilities that align with their gender identity,” CPS Title IX Officer Camie Pratt said in a video message, adding the new requirement is a step toward “more inclusive and supportive schools.”

Pratt elaborated on the new requirement:

One change that will be implemented this school year relates to our school bathrooms. In compliance with new federal guidelines, all CPS students and staff will have fair and equitable access to bathroom facilities that align with their gender identity. We will be providing all schools with updated signage that makes our bathrooms more inclusive. It will identify the fixtures available in each rest room, and make it clear that all rest rooms are open for use by anyone who feels comfortable.

Examples of the signs to be used read:

  • “This is a gender-neutral restroom with multiple stalls. It is open to users of any gender identity or expression.”
  • “Men’s +: This restroom has both urinals and stalls. All who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom.”
  • “Women’s +: This restroom has stalls. All who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom.”

“Staff will continue to have ‘staff only’ rest rooms available to them,” Pratt added.

She said the CPS Office of Student Protections and Title IX is “working on a long-term plan to create more permanent signage” for the bathrooms.

HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?

Those in charge of providing education to children in schools have thrown away biological and scientific reality in favor of feelings. That should not come as much of a surprise considering they themselves are the ones who stirred and promoted the feelings of gender confusion to their students.

It is important to understand that the effort to exchange Biblical teaching for overtly secular education in the classrooms has had a detrimental effect on how children view the topic of gender, sexuality, and science.

The Bible states that humans are made in the image of God and that He created us male and female (Genesis 1:27). This Biblical truth used to be without controversy. Not very long ago, to declare the basic fact that humans are either born male or female to be inaccurate was considered ridiculous.

As many parents have learned impressionable children have become the primary targets of this and other progressive and anti-God agendas.

Over the past few months, we have seen teachers such as Laura Morris resign because they could no longer take part in pushing “highly politicized agendas” on children.

In May, a Christian gym teacher in Virginia lost his job for not using “transgender-affirming language.”

In his reasoning for refusing to use the pronouns, Cross said that it was out of love that he could not lie to children struggling with gender confusion, adding that to do so would be “abuse to a child.”

“My name is Tanner Cross, and I am speaking out of love for those who suffer with gender dysphoria. I love all of my students, but I will never lie to them regardless of the consequences,” he explained. “I’m a teacher, but I serve God first and I will not affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it’s against my religion, it’s lying to a child, it’s abuse to a child, and it’s sinning against our God.”

Ken Ham, in his article, “Feelings Do Not Determine Truth: ‘Modern Science’ Says There Are Six Sexes?” explained that what those struggling with gender confusion need is the truth which is confirmed by science and God’s Word.

“There are two: male and female. The ‘gender identities’ so popular today are not biological sexes—they are determined by the feelings of the person claiming the gender identity,” Ken Ham explained. “But feelings do not determine truth. Instead of relying on our feelings, we must turn to the Word of God for absolute truth and, by the power of God’s spirit and the gospel, line our feelings up with God’s Word and truth. And besides, because we are sinners (Romans 3:23) and our hearts are ‘deceitful above all things and desperately wicked’ (Jeremiah 17:9), we can’t trust our feelings!”

“Such individuals need compassion and kindness—and they need the truth that comes from God’s Word and is confirmed by observational science,” Ham urged. “There are only two genders/sexes in humans: male and female (Genesis 1:27). That’s how God has made us, and trying to change one’s gender is ultimately a sinful rejection of God’s design. Those who struggle with gender dysphoria need Gospel truth. They need to know that their identity need not be rooted in themselves and their feelings but rather in Christ, his death, and resurrection for them, and his design for them and their body.”

“Those who struggle with gender dysphoria don’t need chemicals, body mutilating surgery, cross-dressing clothes, new pronouns, and a new name—they need the Gospel message that changes hearts and lives for eternity and gives them a new identity rooted in Christ,” he concluded.

In a culture where God is shunned, so is truth, no matter how evident that truth is. Jesus Himself testify to this when He said “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

Denying The Jewish People’s Connection To Jerusalem Would Be Laughable… If So Many Nations Didn’t Believe It

In December 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump decided to implement the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995. He recognized Jerusalem as the official capital of the State of Israel, which calls for Jerusalem to remain an undivided city, and ordered the federal government to relocate the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem—a move timed to help celebrate Israel’s 70th birthday. The UN General Assembly then countered with the “Status of Jerusalem” resolution—which passed 128 to 9, with 35 abstentions—denying the Jewish people’s connection to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.

Global Tensions Expose The Vast Contrast Between Human Hope And God’s Promises

In the Bible, hope is closely connected to waiting. Not waiting in the sense that we are still uncertain about the outcome, but steadfastly waiting because we fully expect the outcome God promised in His Word. In other words, man’s definition of hope carries doubt. God’s does not. As such, Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we may base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises.

Prophetic Pieces: As Putin Ups The Ante In The Arms Race, Russia Considers Providing Refuge To Top Iranian Leaders

Prophetic events in the end times right now are casting their shadows over the Middle East like never before. Preparations for the Gog Magog coalition prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39 are increasing and intensifying. Written 2,500 years ago by Ezekiel, these chapters prophesy an end-time invasion of Israel led by the nations of Russia, Iran, and Turkey. Two significant developments showcase that the prophetic pieces are falling perfectly into place.
