Franklin Graham – There was an article I read a few days ago that said President Trump had changed the world, even if he didn’t win the next election. I thought about that from a Christian perspective, and how true that headline really is.
Already in his first term, President Trump has appointed close to 200 constitutionalist federal judges. With Amy Coney Barrett, he will have appointed three conservative U.S. Supreme Court justices. These actions alone will have an impact on not only my generation, but the lives of my children and grandchildren.
President Trump has defended religious freedom here at home and around the world, and he boldly declared to the nation that the church is “essential” during this pandemic.
Here in the final hours before the 2020 election, he has brokered peace agreements between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan—and reports say that Saudi Arabia is in the pipeline to recognize Israel. This is unprecedented. Any other president would have probably received the Nobel Peace Prize for this—and he should have. President Trump was also the first president to keep his promise to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
Under his leadership, we are energy independent. He has lowered taxes, and because of the growth in the economy, even in the middle of a pandemic, people are better off today than they were four years ago.
President Trump has stood up to NATO. He has stood up to China. He has stood up to Russia. He stood up to Turkey and accomplished the release of American pastor Andrew Brunson. He has stood up to North Korea. And at the same time, has stood up to the political swamp in Washington that has falsely accused him of collusion and impeached him.
I’m not telling people who to vote for, but I certainly am encouraging people to pray about who to vote for—and to pray for this president with so many in the media and the progressive, socialist-leaning left doing everything they can to stop him. I just thank God for all that President Donald J. Trump has done and continues to do.
Which VP Would You Trust to Possibly Lead the Country?
With Election Day only a week away, voters need to look closely at those running for the office of vice president. Who would you trust in this key position and to possibly one day fill the role of president of the United States?
My mother always taught me to let women go first, so let’s look at Kamala Harris. She is a lawyer, former DA of San Francisco, former Attorney General of California, and is known as the most liberal Senator in Congress.
She is an avid supporter of abortion. She supports sanctuary cities, open borders, the Green New Deal, and the government mandating things like mask-wearing outdoors. She supports legalizing marijuana at the national level, and she has been weak on supporting law enforcement. Kamala Harris supports increasing taxes. She opposes the oil industry and would ban fracking. She opposes the 2nd amendment and advocates for strong gun control. She would appoint liberal, activist judges to the federal court system and to the Supreme Court.
If Joe Biden were to win this election, many people believe Kamala Harris would likely have to replace him as president in the next couple of years due to his age and possible cognitive decline.
Then there is Mike Pence. He served as a Congressman and then Governor of the state of Indiana before becoming our Vice President. He has a long history of being pro-life. He supports family and believes in marriage between a man and a woman. He supports secure borders and a strong military.
He is an outspoken advocate of the police and law enforcement across this country. He supports lowering taxes. Mike Pence is pro-2nd Amendment. He would continue appointing conservative judges who believe in and support the Constitution to the federal court system and to the U.S. Supreme Court. He has a track record of defending religious freedom.
He is an evangelical Christian and isn’t ashamed or afraid to share his personal faith.
So, ask yourself, who do you trust to lead this country if either one of the candidates were unable to fulfill his duties as President?
Never Forget is that an Administration is not just a President
Our country has always needed Christians to participate in electing our leaders. It makes us better. Being informed on which leaders promote life, family, free speech, free thought, religious freedom, livelihoods, safe and orderly communities, national security, educational choice, decency and morality, helps all citizens to flourish.
But one thing to never forget is that an Administration is not just a President, there are thousands appointed by the President in the executive and judicial branches that touch our lives each and every day. Gifted and dedicated people are selected as Vice President, Secretary of State, HUD Secretary, HHS Secretary, Defense Secretary, Education Secretary, Treasury Secretary, Labor Secretary, Commerce Secretary, Attorney General, ambassadors, deputy secretaries, assistant deputy secretaries, communications directors, spokespersons, including hundreds of federal judges.
So as you look through the lens of God’s Word and vote, consider the vast reach of all the appointees and whether they reflect your values, beliefs and concerns. Unelected appointees impact our country and serve people around the world. Proverbs 15:22 says, “Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”
