Mocking God: Hollywood Celebrates As Female ‘Wicked’ Star Plays Role Of Jesus

You would be hard-pressed not to find someone horrified by the latest revival of “Jesus Christ Superstar.” The Andrew Lloyd Webber production debuted at the Hollywood Bowl starring Cynthia Erivo as a bald-headed, female, queer version of Jesus.

Erivo says the point of Jesus Christ Superstar is to provide and challenge. She said the teachings of Christ should transcend gender. She also pointed out that musical theater is the gayest place on Earth. Her performance was best described as demonic – a demon possessed, emaciated woman prowling around the stage.

The three-day musical was cited by reviewers as the most accurate portrayal of the Son of God in history.

“This concert staging of the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical didn’t alter a single lyric or swap any pronouns,” wrote Playbill. “But 55 years after its debut, the Erivo’s gender-blind take on the Son of God felt refreshing and revelatory. It was as close to a religious experience as a musical theatre performance can get.”

I suppose one could say it was indeed a religious experience – if one worshipped the Prince of Darkness. The rock opera literally desecrated the traditions of the faith, obliterated Biblical truth and mocked God.

How sad that so many were deceived by evil doers waxing worse and worse. Words not from Mr. Webber – but from the New Testament.

Provoked To Anger Or Forever Changed: The Gospel Is For Everyone… Tell It Boldly

Yes, there will be people like Herod who will be angry, but others will encounter the living Christ and will be forever changed. They will walk out ready to share that love and hope with their friends, family, colleagues and neighbors. There will be exponential impact as the joy of the Lord goes forth! My friends, the narrative of Jesus’ birth is a beautiful story, and one from which there is much to glean. Remember that the Gospel is for everyone. Tell it boldly. Though some may push back, God will draw others to Himself through your obedience.
