The Bible says that the last days would look exactly like what we see all around us today. How can anyone miss how closely world events align with what God prophesied for the days leading up to Jesus’ glorious return to the earth? The many distractions of modern life effectively blind the multitudes, and even most believers, to the multitude of signs pointing to the rapid approach of God’s judgment upon the planet.
Let us not be like the man building bigger barns, or the crowds who ignored Noah’s warnings. Let us be like the Bereans—searching the Scriptures daily, receiving the Word eagerly, and living with an urgency rooted in the hope of Christ. Because one day, the door will close. The writing will be on the wall. And it will be too late. But today? Today is still the day of salvation.
God’s Word, and in particular Bible prophecy, explains the devil’s rage against Israel as manifested through the Iranian leaders. Yet so many believers dismiss prophecy as stale theology, tertiary (of third-rate importance), or irrelevant. If one follows today’s popular doctrinal teachings regarding Israel, he or she will not only miss the why of what’s happening in the Middle East, but also the calming reassurance that comes from recognizing that God remains in control of all things.
The devil’s fury against God and His people explains why Israel, since its miraculous rebirth as a nation in 1948, has faced almost constant warfare, terrorism, and repeated threats of impending destruction. He knows how Israel’s existence fits into God’s revealed plans to wrap up human history and inaugurate the millennial kingdom at Jesus’ Second Coming, events that spell his doom.
A time is coming when God is going to restore everything in this world back to the perfection of its starting point! Only God could execute such an incredible plan! As we eagerly anticipate its coming blessing, come with me on a brief study of the first and last books of the Bible which demonstrate the need for restoration and detail the amazing symmetry of biblical prophecy!
Many ministries that focus on Bible prophecy are emphasizing the rising darkness and pointing to developments that will come to fruition during the Tribulation—after the Church has been raptured. Other evangelical ministries ignore any warning in their effort to emphasize only the grace and mercy of God—leaving those who reject Jesus’ offer of salvation oblivious that His wrath abides on them (John 3:36).
That day, they had front-row seats to the prophetic drama of God’s plan for the ages. But Jesus had work for them to do, though He never denied that Kingdom restoration will one day occur as the prophets foretold. Jesus gave His disciples the consequential task of being witnesses for Him throughout the world—the same task He has given us.
Friends, the mystery of the Messiah, hidden for ages, is now revealed. He is the substance behind every prophetic shadow. These feasts were prophecies in action that only the true Messiah could fulfill to the letter. God is not after the rituals, He wants hearts that recognize His Son.
The apostle Peter predicted, “Scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’” (2 Peter 3:3–4). The word scoffer refers to someone who mocks and makes fun of what they consider to be an empty and ridiculous promise.
The Bible tells us there must be a seven-year period when God again turns His attention to the Jewish people and Jerusalem. The length of this still future time comes the prophet Daniel who specified seventy weeks of years during which time the Lord will complete His redemptive purposes for choosing Israel (Daniel 9:24-27).
The writings of the early Church Fathers (100 to 300 A.D.) reveal that one of the earliest prayers of the Church was “Maranatha!” (1 Corinthians 16:22). That word is actually an Aramaic phrase that means “Our Lord come!” The Twentieth Century Church seems to have lost that desire.
When 2024 dawned, now so many months ago, very few could have seen the turmoil that lay ahead. It’s just as well. Only God can handle foreknowledge, and since He knows the end from the beginning, nothing catches Him by surprise. He doesn’t orchestrate chaos, but He allows it so that we can have wake-up calls and keep eternity in perspective.
Through the centuries, theologians came across prophecies they either didn’t like or that seemed impossible. So, they would fudge. It’s as if they were thinking, “God goofed up a little here, so I’ll explain it away.” Where His Word makes a plain statement of fact, they would hedge. “It says one thing, but it must mean something else,” they would explain. Bible interpretation loses its integrity when people begin to read into it whatever they want to find.
Jesus was saying that in the last days, people also will ignore prophetic warnings. They’ll disregard the clear message of God to them. For the most part it will be business as usual. People will go on with their day-to-day activities.
Just like the Pharisees who failed to recognize the presence of the Messiah, many church leaders today fail to link the perils of our day to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy (see Matthew 16:1-4). They read the same passages that we do but remain blind to the evidences of Jesus’ soon return.
The buildup is accelerating toward the time Jesus said would be a period of trouble unlike anything that’s ever been. He placed Israel at the center of that time of Tribulation. Watch Israel and the world’s increasingly hate-filled treatment of its people. This is the number-one signal that shows definitively where we are on God’s prophetic timeline.
Because of America’s long history of peace and security, most of its citizens live with what’s called a “normalcy bias.” As a result, even many Christians label those of us who warn of the dangers inherent in a world speeding toward the Tribulation period as “conspiracy theorists.”
It is not the hatred of God for the lost people of this fallen planet that drives prophecy. It is the love of God that powers His prophetic Word. It must be the Christian’s desire, therefore, to study Bible prophecy and put forth those forewarnings out of a spirit of God’s love, not through an anger-filled abhorrence of those who are lost.
With Bible prophecy, it’s necessary to distinguish between the comings and goings if one is to qualify, in the words of 2 Timothy 2:15, as “rightly dividing the word of truth.” Words matter if we are to avoid running the wrong way when it comes to Bible prophecy (see Proverbs 30:5).
Just like those living in the first century AD, we live in biblical times today. Also similar to that day long ago, it’s primarily church leaders who are leading people away from anticipating the Lord’s imminent appearing.
This is the classic set-up right now! A charismatic man is waiting in the wings. He will seduce the “left behind” world, but he will mesmerize many Jews because they are being primed to be told that a benevolent dictator is their best friend and will never betray them--ever.
Rick Warren characterizes prophecy as a “distraction” and says that anyone who lets himself get involved in distractions like studying prophecy “is not fit for the kingdom of God.”
According to Time Magazine, "This conflict is so dangerous that the time has come for the international community to impose a solution." A compelled solution to the nations? That is precisely what the Bible predicted Daniel 9:27.
If God had left prophecies out of His Word, we would have no idea of what the future holds. Instead, all we would know is that the world we live in is descending deeper and deeper into darkness, evil, and hopelessness.
There’s actually good news behind the push of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and UN to establish the devil’s new world order. It not only tells us that we live in the last moments of human history, but it also points to the nearness of the glorious kingdom that we will inherit...
Over the past few years, I have noticed an underlying current in teachings that deny what the Bible says about the Rapture, the seven-year Tribulation, and Jesus’ thousand-year reign. They greatly diminish the magnificence of Jesus’ role in end time events.
The theme of the book of Revelation is this: The end of your life as you know it is coming soon. That end will come either through your death or through the return of Jesus Christ, but your life is about to undergo a big change. And the knowledge that your life is going to end should affect how you live right now.
Sadly, today there are many who claim to follow Christ but deny the reality of Bible prophecy. Regarding God’s prophetic Word, if Satan were to ask, “Did God really say?” they would essentially respond, “I don’t know, and I really don’t care.”
I have watched Bible prophecy attacked, scorned, mocked, criticized, and improperly taught for a lot of years. There has been overwhelming confusion about the last days. Again, that is predicted, so no surprise (II Peter 3:3–7).
We know that once the second hand on this clock starts moving, it will be too late for the world. Although they don’t believe the Bible, the “doomsday” that the atomic scientists have in mind eerily resembles the Day of the Lord's wrath described in Scripture.
The term "Christian Zionist" came into being in the mid-20th century. Before that, 70-80 years ago, it was known as "Christian restorationism" and had been since 16th century England. These were groups of people who believed that the Jewish people had a right to their ancient homeland being restored.
With the benefit of a completed revelation from the whole New Testament, including all the epistles and the book of Revelation, we know that there are two stages: the rapture and the second coming. And we're dealing with the first phase.
I purchased Billy Graham’s book, Approaching Hoofbeats, not long after its publication in 1983. I recently skimmed its chapters, the stark differences between then and now leaped off the pages.
Although prophecy constitutes almost one-third of the Bible, its importance is constantly downplayed by those who dismiss it as having no practical significance or by those who object to it on the grounds that it is a “fad” that takes people’s eyes off Jesus.
I could go on for endless pages with further examples, sadly. The Bible is blunt that the last days would be perilous and filled with unruly and selfish people. It says society would be “given over” (Romans 1). We just didn’t think it would be this bad.
Satan is the culprit behind the current hatred of the nations for the Jewish people. He is “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:1), and his dominance over the affairs of the nations is becoming more apparent with each passing day.
Those who claim that Jesus now reigns over the nations by implication tell us that He now rules over a world filled with wars, violence, and unending ethnic strife. Such a belief not only contradicts what the Bible says about the character of the Savior’s realm, but also dishonors His glorious Name to no small extent.
Did you know that a whopping 31% of the Bible is God revealing how events will unfold before they happen? Our Heavenly Father wants His children to know what the future holds!
What we see happening today is precisely what the Lord, through His prophets, said the world would look like in the end. Regardless of how chaotic our world appears, God will accomplish His purposes for both our lives and the end of human history as we know it.
Which generation was Jesus talking about when he said, “this generation shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:34)? He was speaking of the generation that will see the fig tree come back to life.
Modern Israel was born in 1948, and in my lifetime, tensions between Arabs and Israelis have erupted into battle at least seven times, including the Six-Day War in 1967.
A recent survey came across my desk which revealed that four in ten U.S. adults believe humanity is “living in the end times,” according to a survey done by the Pew Research Center.
It could well prove to be the worst of all the wars Israel has experienced, especially if it blossoms into a regional conflagration. But Scripture tells us that Israel will overcome all these challenges to its existence...
Satan, the devil, was at the nucleus of the Nazi-engendered Holocaust of the 1930s. He is at the heart of the genocide being called for by many of America’s college students and much of the world’s populace today.
You can’t tell the players without a printed program, and that would be the Bible—the most accurate chronicler of world events we could have ever been given! Jesus is coming—perhaps today!
In the famed passage of Genesis 12:3, we see a warning of curses followed by a promise of blessings which still stands true and is manifesting itself today.
Despite a world that’s overrun with violence, deception, injustice, lawlessness, and wickedness, very few church leaders ask questions similar to that of Habakkuk. They do not connect what they see with biblical prophecy.
The world is rapidly being prepared for the tribulation period. Christians are destined to be rescued from the world before the actual hurricane hits, but the outer bands are already kicking up quite a storm.
It's in the best interest of our nation to pray for and support Israel. It's in the best interest of every Christian to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. God is at work, and friends, we are seeing Bible prophecy fulfilled before our very eyes.
Many prophetic writers would testify to the magnitude of this great sign that reemerged on the world scene in just the past century. In the fullness of time, God is bringing the Jewish people back to the Land — and back to Him.
With the explosion of globe-trotting transportation and the exponential growth of human knowledge (sadly lacking wisdom most of the time), it seems as if we are at the threshold of the “end of time” that the Lord spoke about.
Jesus has called us to interpret the signs of the times and anticipate His return. We cannot live by lies, or fear, or hatred. But we can no longer ignore the warnings or sleep in beds of ignorance. We must live by our biblical convictions.
Rewarding terrorists with land and autonomy couldn't possibly bring peace to the region. So why are the Biden administration and numerous world leaders championing this "solution"? The answer is found in Scripture.
Churches in denominations that have long embraced the various forms of amillennialism are now rallying in support of the Palestinian cause while seeming to ignore Hamas’ barbarism.
How sad it is to think that a legitimate drug used to treat medical conditions has become known as the “drug of Jihad”. It not only produces soldiers with no fear or conscience, but also funds their activities with billions of dollars from sales.
Not only do we see the world focused on Jerusalem but we also see the coalition of the Ezekiel war forming and three of the five nations poised to strike from the north.
Satan’s stirring up of murderous hatred toward Jews among the militant Muslims is all about stopping Jesus’ fulfillment of prophecy. His objective is to prevent the Lord’s rule over a restored Israel...
Until 70 years ago, anyone who read Revelation 11 had to wonder how the entire world will one day look upon the bodies of the two witnesses lying in the streets of Jerusalem.
Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and those supporting their efforts to destroy the Jews and the nation of Israel, are fighting against the plan of God, but they will not prevail.
We most assuredly live in biblical times. The convergence of signs is like that of the grand finale of a fireworks show that noisily illuminates the sky with its bright display of colors. Yet sadly, many believers and pastors turn their heads...
A time is coming when food will be the primary commodity that will fuel Antichrist’s machine of control over most of the earth. The unfortunate people alive at the time will comply with the demands of the man of sin’s regime—or face starvation.
As we look at end-time prophetic events coming to pass, it is becoming increasingly apparent that some of the most influential entities in both global policy and societal changes are not found in governments at all.
Why do we need a millennium? Why bother with a thousand years on earth instead of just going directly to the eternal state of the new heaven and new earth?
