Speculation of Israel-Saudi Ties on the Rise After First Israeli Jet Lands in the Kingdom

While the two countries have partnered in several ways historically, curiosity of warmer diplomatic ties is increasing following the first-time landing of an Israeli jet in the Saudi Kingdom early this week.

According to reports, for the first time ever, an Israeli jet landed in Saudi Arabia early this week – a monumental change from longstanding policy wherein Israeli airliners had to prolong their journey to avoid Saudi airspace. The flight landed in the Kingdom’s capital, Riyadh, just one day after the first Saudi flight to ever land in Israel took place on Monday.

Amid the Abraham Accords, which were instituted under the Trump administration and involved the normalization of diplomatic ties between Israel and several Arab countries, the exchange of both flights carries a lot more weight. As it stands, Israel has normalized ties with the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan, with others in the queue, including Saudi Arabia.

The two flights also follow news that surfaced just last week concerning the current US administration’s efforts to tighten the relationship between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which the Kingdom expressed interest in pending several requirements of their own.

Monday and Tuesday’s flights, though not commercial, still send a strong message to the world that something is brewing between the two countries despite the pressure that the Saudi Kingdom is facing from Iran, Israel’s greatest enemy in the region.

HD Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant?

The world’s eyes may be on Saudi Arabia because they seem like the next likely nation to join other muslim countries in normalizing ties with the Jewish state following the Trump administrations “Abraham Accords,” but Christians familiar with Bible Prophecy are watching for a different reason.

In the book of Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39, the Bible speaks of a future war that will take place in-which Russia, Iran, Turkey, and other nations, will attempt to ascend on the nation of Israel from the north. The war, which ultimately ends in God’s intervention (Ezekiel 38:18-23), is extremely detailed in the circumstances Israel will be in during this time.

We are told Israel prior to the attack would “dwell safely” (Ezekiel 38:14), which in itself is interesting. But we are also told that “Sheba and Dedan” (modern-day Saudi Arabia) would protest the attack on Israel (Ezekiel 38:13).

This is the reason those following Bible Prophecy are watching for an agreement between the Saudis and Israelis; it would be farther setting the stage for this already developing Ezekiel war to be fulfilled.

Many of the Arab nations who signed normalization agreements with Israel during the Trump administration cited the aggression of turkey and Iran as apart of their reasons for establishing a relationship with Israel.

The stage for this future battle is additionally being set through developments in Sudan, which is one of the nations that take part in the attempted invasion of Israel in Ezekiel 38-39.

When Sudan joined in and signed a normalization agreement with Israel in 2020, many Christians familiar with this prophetic war made the educated assumption that the new friendly relationship with the Jewish State would not last long.

This speculation, based on future events listed in Biblical prophecy, may be proved correct as Sudan has fallen into utter chaos resulting from a recent military coup of the country. On Monday, Sudan’s top general dissolved the countries government and declared that the military would now be running the country.

So as we watch the middle east and the alliances that are forming, it is astonishing to understand how the Bible foretold the earth of these developments thousands of years beforehand!

Jesus tells us what the purpose of Biblical Prophecy is in John, saying:

John 14:29 KJV – “And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.”

God tells us what will happen so that through the setting up and fulfillment of these events, people can witness that God is who He says He is, and His Word (the Bible) is living, active, and more up-to-date than today’s newspaper.

The other purpose of Prophecy is also to provide hope to believers in Christ, specifically the nearness of the “Blessed Hope,” the Rapture of the Church from the earth before the seven-year Tribulation:

Luke 21:28 KJV – “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

What every evil opportunistic leader in the world sees is an America whose president is vacillating in his support of Israel.
